      Her head shot up as someone passed nearby, “I need assistance! Do you - hic! - have some sort of heavy tool on you? I think I need to hit my foot!”

Holly was a ball of energy and most of the time Mary couldn’t keep up, and so now she was trying to understand what her friend needed. Of course she thought of cracking a joke and ask who they were killing or if she needed help to move and hide the body, but not even Mary herself was stupid enough to upset sweet Holly. “And you beautiful.” And she decided to ignore the comment on her arrival, as she knew she was late, but it wasn’t really that bad. “Do you want to escape? I’ll help. I’ll create a distraction and you run.”

     Holly spun around, clasping Mary’s hand now in both of hers and pulling it to her chest, shaking her head earnestly, traces of shock in her features at the suggestion. “Escape? Why would I want escape, now that you’re here? No, no.” Mary really ought to have enjoyed the moment of stillness because now Holly was pulling her along again, and since Holly was on her mission, there was no future prospect of stillness. “I saw this drink, you know, all lavender with cream atop it-- definitely with alcohol. And I want it, but I can’t find it. Anywhere.”

She was late. Well, fashionably late in this case, if she cared about that. Her father hadn’t waited for her because he had to be there with Bitchtrix and make sure it was safe, and Mary hadn’t felt like dealing with that awful woman. So she had gone to get a burger to Muggle London before making it to the ball. She didn’t regret it though, as now she would only be there for an hour or two and then go back home.

Holly, all eager, jubilant eyes, had spent the majority of the evening sashaying herself about from person to person, tossing her skirt from side to side, and looking for anyone she might possibly know to assist her in locating the frothy, lavender drink she’d seen one sole guest carrying. And it just so happened that, as she was moving on from one person, she caught sight of Mary. The woman’s name escaped her lips and in seconds, she had taken her by the hand and begun to pull her along. “You’ve always been quite helpful - you look lovely, by the way! - and I - wait, you were late! - I need your help!”
