LILY
âI believe this calls for a test. You move out of the flat and go live with Potter for a few weeks and weâll see.â Laughter bubbled from her lips, shaking her head in amusement. âOh baby, thatâs because she had a crush on you. And she hated me. I remember she kicked me out of the bathroom once because she said I had no right to be there.â And back then they were friends only, but she supposed the ghost saw something they didnât. âIâm not trying to convince you. But I guess we just had to agree to disagree.â It didnât matter, not really, because Severus thought she was dead and he didnât like Felicity that much. Hell, some days even Lily herself didnât like Felicity at all. It was for the best if they avoided a fight and simply didnât talk about him. âFor way too long, it seems. But Iâm still here, so it means you must be doing something right. Itâs a surprise and you canât see it yet.â She smiled and looked at him, as waiting for him to decide whether he had missed her or not, already knowing the real answer. âNot sure? When you sleep on the couch tonight, I want you to ask yourself again.â
âYou do realise that heâll never let me leave if I move in with him, right? Heâs been on a right sulk! You can kiss this face goodbye, Lils.â He grimaced. âSadly for olâ Myrtle, Iâve never been into the non-corporeal. I prefer my partners to have a pulse.â She really was a character. âShe said that you had no right? Tragic.â Sirius chuckled. âClearly. Well, we can rule out you being with me for my money, so it must be my winning personality. Either that or you think me handsome.â Sirius had always been far too inpatient and impulsive for surprises. âNot fair. Not fair at all. Are you sure that I canât see it yet? Can I persuade you?â The couch? Oh no, that would not do at all. âYou know I did. Iâve been absolutely miserable without you today. And Iâm not sleeping on the couch - I refuse. Iâll use a sticking charm to keep myself in bed if I have to.â
