I recall you mentioning Gemini nearly overblotted twice once as a child and once in book 7(?)
Danm, how terrifying must it be to be like 'Oh hey this is cool I have- oh wait no, no this feels wrong-'
Yes! Their first near-overblot incident was because they weren't able to uncast Second Star on time (before daylight) and Gemini was forced to hold up Second Star for an extended period of amount, until the next nightfall, since that's the only time their UM can be casted and uncasted.
At the time, Gemini already can use magic, it just so happens that they didn't know their newly developed Unique Magic has a few conditions, one being that Second Star can only be uncasted and casted during nightfall and, well, Gemini was an overly eager kid that's excited to try it out.
Their over-eagerness just so happened to come at the wrong time and as a result, gave way to unwanted consequences.
i love you
Do Gemini arm scars (?) hurt? I’m also wondering how magic would feel with that kind of damage. Considering it’s from magical buildup, would it feel like pressure taken off of them? Like scratching an itch? Or would it be more like some form of inflammation or irritation in that area due from the damage? I love Gemini so much and seeing them and their story you built around them has finally motivated me to draw my Octavinelle OC 🫶🫶🫶
Hello!
While Gemini's arms are mostly numb to sensations, dispersing of magic can feel like a really uncomfortable static, similar to pins-and-prickles. It's not really a relieving feeling after either, but if there's some way to describe it, it feels like their arms are a little "lighter" afterwards, if that makes sense.
However, overexertion does feel painful, kind of like a really bad burn happening from the inside out.
Huh so this is why we never really see an angry Gemini, they have a loose loose situation to either over cast and iver blot or undercoat and suffer, huuuuh
Dude needs a well deserved break- OH
Speaking of break, regarding the dreams in book 7 I wonder what their would be like, perhaps magicless? Perhaps a cute date with Floyd??
Yes, Book 8 renders them magicless, although it's temporary! They can still cast magic, but it's with great advice from medical professionals that they don't.
Since Book 8 holds the RSA vs NRC tournament, Gemini would still be able to participate, albeit, as a school paper club alone and not as a participant. I see them covering the 100th tournament alongside fellow school paper club members (both from NRC and RSA)

do you possibly have a link to the comic where Floyd snd Jade switch and Gemini is like 'Ha i know my bf' , I've been tryna find it because it's so cute and funny
Hello! You can find it here <33
this may sound like a bit of a stupid question but eh it's worth asking
Since Geminis magic produces a higher amount of blot negative or neutral what about positive?
Also inwas just kinda really curious, say onw of the other ccs used their own um (ex riddle) would that be enough to stop the blot Gemini accumulates? (since Riddles um halts all castable magic) thrn again would it be magic potency against magic potency-)
Or say hypothetically could somone force them to use magic (thinking back to Jamil hypnotising kalim in book 4- tho I'm not sure how strong that would be-)
now I'm just thinking of chaos like if Ace tries to copy Gemini's um , chaos lol
sorry for the rambles, your blog makes me very happy to read whilst I'm getting treatment lol
Not a stupid question at all, thank you for humoring my ramblings because these get my gears going! I'll try to answer them one by one!
⟡ Magic casted with positive emotions does the same and will still produce blot build up for Gemini, but the blot produced is lesser than when produced with negative emotions.
⟡ Riddle can temporarily stop blot build up by cutting of the capacity to cast magic, but his UM won't be able to stop their magic potency. from going haywire. If Gemini isn't able to cast magic, their magic potency will start acting up. Gemini's star arms happened because their parents prevented them from casting magic, and look where that got them lmao.
⟡ Yes! Jamil can technically force them to cast magic, even their UM if he wants. He can even force an overblot on Gemini if he wants.
⟡ If Ace were to Joker Snatch Second Star, he can execute if flawlessly, but the condition still stands that it can only be casted and uncasted during nighttime. While he won't have the factors of blot build up and magic potency if he "steals" it, if he isn't careful and doesn't uncast it in time, he may be prone to, well, overblotting since UM tend to carry more blot build up.
I hope all of these answered your questions!
So.
You just made me realise if Gemini acctually overblots there's a very high chance they could die uhuh... *writes down notes*
Aside from that and thr use of his um, what would be the reason he woukd overblot? (if we set using his umbrella aside and look at thr other overblots- I'm just so curious!)
Bingo!
Yes, you're right! Gemini's blot build up still happens like any other's (if they cast magic = blot). The only difference is typically, blot is made, most often times, when magic is casted with the accompaniment of a negative emotion, right? For Gemini, even if a magic is cast with neutrality, it will still produce blot. If Gemini casts magic with negative emotions alongside it, it will equate to more. If they use their UM, that's essentially a sure ticket to speeding up the threat of overblotting. Think of those three factors as different those settings. Either way, water (blot) will spew out no matter how little or strong the spray option way.
In a nutshell, as long as Gemini casts magic, that's a threat to the possibility of overblotting.
So how do they work around it? Calculated casting. Remember, Gemini has two "debuffs": high blot build up and magic potency. If Gemini chooses to not cast spells, their magic potency will act up and lead to unhealthy build up that can take damaging physical manifestations (their star arms). If Gemini casts carelessly, they'll be reprimanded by blot build up. Calculated casting lets Gemini make sure they cast enough magic so that their potency is kept in check, while also not going above their blot buildup limit. They can cast their UM, but it should be casted with huge "refresh periods", typically weeks. It also helps that their magic is weakened during daytime, which sort of lowers the threat of their magic potency, although they still need to be mindful when casting magic during morning.
What is Gemini's opinion on Jade?
Jade is the second person in Octatrio that Gemini actually got close to! And it was thanks to Jade that Flogemi actually sailed (he's been the #1 Flogemi truther even before D1) lmao.
The two get along really well, considering they are quite similar personality-wise, and have tons of common interests.
⟡ Both are flora enthusiasts! With Jade having a great interest in mushrooms and hiking, and Gemini (with a florist mother and herbalist father) having great knowledge with them, they do tend to talk tons about, you guessed it... flora. ⟡ They have a nice give-take relationship. If Jade is curious about any flora and its properties/uses, he can ask Gemini about it. In return, if Gemini wants to retrieve a specific flora, specifically rare mountain plants, they can ask Jade to get it and he'll happily do it (since it also means he gets an excuse to hike). ⟡ They both love information gathering and are naturally curious. ⟡ Both have a tendency to use said gathered information for ulterior motives. ⟡ Similar to flora-information exchange, they also would tend to exchange information about students if it benefits them both. Since Gemini is in the NRC School Paper, school gossip hits them first, thus, they're Jade's first point in getting any info needed. If Gemini wants deeper information about specific individuals, that's where Jade can come in, as he tends to have more sensitive information about others. ⟡ They're in the same class, so naturally, they'd be close.
More ramblings below since I love talking about Jade and Gemini's dynamics!
To Jade, Gemini is one of the few persons (the others being Azul and Floyd) he can freely ramble about his fixations without the threat of being "judged". Considering how he's also often labeled as the "proper but weird" twin, it's not very easy to share interests with anyone at point blank. Gemini lets him, happily even! Despite this comfort, however, Jade loves the challenge. Again, NRC's motto towards Gemini is "Never trust Gemini Nevers", so Jade enjoys the challenge of "trusting" Gemini.
WAIT WAIT WAIT REGARDING UR LAST POST, WHAT DO YOU MEAN GEMINI MAY LIVE LESS LONGER THAN FLOYD NOOOOOO
Yep haha, I think I talked about this in my instagram and haven't exactly posted it here, but due to their blot-build up and magic potency basically "eating them" bit by bit, Gemini isn't bound to live a long life. This is further on shortened as their near-overblot has already happened twice (the first when they first manifested their UM as a child, the second happening in Book 7 events). Their magic is self-sacrificial. The bigger the give, the bigger the take.
But it doesn't happen until much much later in their merry life, and I'm happy to say Gemini and Floyd live long lives together, getting married, and growing old together <33. It just so happens that since merfolk are (at least in my head, and following most mermaid tales) tend to live longer than humans, it's bound that when the time comes, Gemini will be the first to meet their natural demise. Along with this, I've written a short drabble before (the one I posted in my Instagram) regarding this idea, I hope you enjoy it!

flogemi angst?? 👀
As an angst lover, I want to say yes, but unfortunately their story is much too happy post Book 8 (although this will depend how the canon storyline goes since I tend to mirror bits of it into FloGemi's lore)
I can, however offer fuel, especially when it comes to their insecurities about their relationship (as the very rare angsty moments between them revolves around it)
Gemini fears they'll become boring for Floyd. As much as they try to match Floyd's impulsivities and ride on his little whims (they thrive off of it as a curious fellow after all), he comes like a whirlwind and Gemini often finds themselves not able to always follow through and in turn, they can get impatient, and it's often the start of their squabbles. This then opens their insecurity of "if they can't catch up with Floyd, will he leave them or will he slow his pace for them?". It's very often that Gemini has the thought of "how long will Floyd find them fun?"
Floyd tends to let his mind drift off to how long Gemini can bear him. He knows he's volatile, he knows he's not the easiest person to be around. He knows people get sick quick of his constant crossing of boundaries and mood swings and frankly enough, he's personally surprised Gemini has lasted this long around him. Gemini isn't a pot of endless patience, and he often wonders how much it'll take before Gemini gets completely tired of him. It's no question that every now and then, Floyd catches himself thinking "How long will Sea Star want to be beside him?"
I hope these suffice! There's also the bit of Gemini and Floyd's life spans being greatly different (esp if you consider Gemini's current blot buildup-magic potency condition) so do with that as you may <33
In flogemi who's the more stubborn one when sick?
It depends! Before getting sick, Gemini would be more stubborn, refusing to rest even when they're already showing symptoms of sickness. If they already have their mind set to doing something for the day, not even getting sick will stop them (ex. how they often push past their magic limits if it means getting what they want/doing things their way). They'd only consider bed rest if either 1) they collapse out of pure fatigue, 2) someone (Floyd) hauls them to bed by force. If neither happens, rest assured Gemini is not resting until either one eventually happens.
However, if they're already sick, Floyd will be the more stubborn of the two. Stubbornly refuses medicines because "they don't taste nice", stubbornly refuses meals because "he's not in the mood to eat", stubbornly refuses to stay in bed because "he's bored of laying down", etc. I feel like he'd be the most headache-inducing patient to care for lmao. It takes even Gemini to bring extra bags of patience when they're caring for a sick Floyd, so much so that Jade and Azul will often be summoned in to help care for him (and withstand all his whining).
Recovery-wise, both of them are stubborn, using the whole "I'm still recovering and weak" excuse. Gemini would use their "recovery stage" to get out of things (oh woe is me I'm still feeling a bit flushed... cough cough.. ). Floyd bathes in post-sickness recovery spoiling. Pretends he's still "weak" just to get some extra spoiling from Gemini (maybe a kiss will heal me / maybe a Sea Star-special breakfast will heal me/ no I can't get up without a kiss boohoo). They're both insufferable.
Do both of them know they're faking it at this point? Absolutely. Do they do anything about it? Nah.

lowkey, I'm not usually an oc person at all. but I am VERY invested in gemini and flogemi. oc x canon has never gotten me all giggly like flogemi does. your art is among my favorite in the whole twst community (your pomefiore and heartslabyul pieces are life-changing), and your lore for gemini is so interesting.
anyways this is just a message of appreciation and love <3
Hello! Thank you so much, that warms my heart so so much! I'm honestly overwhelmed /pos with how much love Gemini has been gaining as of recent, thank you for loving them!
I look forward to making more FloGemi art and of course, more twst art!

I think I miss read something. You did say Gemini and floyd or down for sharing right? Or am I thinking of it wrong?
Hello! No worries at all hehe, but yes you're right! You can also refer to this previous ask to see what boundaries I'd like to observe!
twst oc / book 7 lore
Stars burn the brightest in their final stages.
Call it a desperate act to protect a place they call home. Call it an act born of panic as the fires danced frighteningly closer and closer. Call it carelessness, with their sight set only to protect. Against the briars and flames, a shield is what they need, thus a shield is what they’ll get.
Second Star functions as a pocket room that shields both sides from the other. Nothing outside it can harm anything inside it. Nothing inside it can harm whatever is outside it.Â
Normally, Second Star’s size engulfs a measly small room.
Tonight, Gemini did the unthinkable and unattainable—
— Second Star swallowed the entirety of Diasomnia grounds.Â
That night, Gemini shone their brightest yet.
