She was not a girl of ice and glass at all, but a girl of sunshine and stardust.

Before she knew it, Teegan watched the older girl rummage through her bags, her head disappearing through the transaction. The redhead laughed slightly, eyes bulging in both amusement and shock. “No, no preference at all,” Teegan responded, somewhat stammering, still surprised. “Herbology!” the girl said out of nowhere, a greater smile appearing as she saw the textbook. Teegan was studying herbology more than any other Hufflepuffs, trying to live up to the reputation that herbology was Hufflepuffs’ expertise. 

“I’ll just grab a bunch then!” Cat exclaimed, sliding a pile of assorted candies to Teegan. Cat’s face glowed as the topic of herbology seemed to catch a hold. “I take it you like Herbology too? I’ve been studying it a lot over the summer.”

Abe stared at her response, stunned at the fact she thought he would cook her. There simply wasn’t enough on her to cook or feed his hunger. The scowl on his disappeared when she started to sniffle; he didn’t like it when people sniffled. “Don’t worry,” he looked away, “I won’t cook you. Not really into eating girls who stand at only five foot.” Moving the suitcase to the side, Abe cleared his throat. “So, um, what did you want?”

Cat looked up sheepishly, “This is the first time in awhile I’ve been happy to be fun sized.” Even though she was still overcoming the fear, she couldn’t help but break out into a soft giggle. “I was going to say your cutting thingy was cool.” Her finger pointed to the knife, “I have a collection too, not of knives, but.. at least I know what to get you for Christmas now!” It didn’t phase her that he was a stranger and she was already thinking of a Christmas gift for the person. “And, also, if you minded if I stood behind you as you walked so I don’t get trampled? I would usually use Jon, but I can’t find him.”

Rory smiled despite herself and shook her head. “It’s fine Cat. Don’t worry I’m perfectly ok. Yeah I guess?” She looked over at the smaller girl with confused expression as she scooted closer to her. “Uh.. I’m not really a plushy kind of girl, so I’ll pass.”

Cat let out a ‘hmmph’ noise, “What is your favorite kind of animal then?”

Jon laughed hugging her back, “Just lucky I guess. Oh, how is my second favourite girl doing? Did you miss me?” He puts an arm around her waist to walk them down the hall, kissing her head.

“I’m completely better now that I’m back home. How is my second favorite person doing?” She joked, excitedly nodding at his last question. “Absolutely! Nothing is ever the same without you and Allibear. We are all going to spend lots of time together this year right?” Her arms clutching her new books and leaning into his side. “How is my favorite couple, by the way? Speaking of if you ever need cooking advice don’t be afraid to tell me.” She giggled at her own inside joke.

As much as Abe loved Hogwarts, it was sometimes tiring and a pain in the arse to deal with students staring whenever he took something up to his dorm. It was as if the students at Hogwarts always looked for something to speak about. “What?” he spat out, turning to the person behind him. “There’s nothing wrong with the fact I’ve got a knife collection. I use them for cooking… the remains of people who cross me.”

Cat’s eyes got wide at the sudden tone of voice, then turned to horrified. Had she crossed him? “You really don’t have to cook me, I don’t have much meat on me anyways!” Her words came out jumbled and nervous. “Are you sure a nice soft plushie wouldn’t help you feel better? You can have them all,” She sniffed, “Just please don’t cook me, I promise I won’t bother you again.”
