Second of all, Pretty Pretty Please tell me more about deadbeat Vash au, it has seized my brain ever since I saw your art post about it

i don't really have anything concrete right now other than the gist of it...

i wanted to write a father/son adventure story and this was inspired by three vintage fanfics: this literal epic, this other literal epic, and an unfinished fic i can't find where a vm kid leaves home to find vash and is like "hey i'm ur son" and vash just turns around and leaves lmaooooo.

it's a pretty standard story of your parent being a legend and trying to find ur identity/individuality in relation to that. also he is 100% plant we are doing flightrising genetics here; he will learn with vash how to control himself through uhhh maybe killing people :) also vash hates looking at him in general. its great.

i don't like to read kidfics without drama, and i didn't want to write vash babying his own son. i really loved how he interacted with kaite but also what if kaite was wolfwood from trigun stampede because i was too lazy to design this child or name it or give it a personality.

i hate drawing him.

It's Klaus and Elijah for two different reasons.

Klaus covets everything and everyone, and is incapable of yearning with grace. There’s a deep need in him for the world to know that he wants and that, in turn, he has been denied. It’s part of his victim complex.

Elijah, on the other hand, has never loved anything that he did not leave deeply gouged by the claws of his regard. (And, yes, that goes both ways—homeboy is tearing off tiny little bits of himself and holding them out like a dumb bird like, “would you like to consume this small piece of my very soul and be changed by the act of loving me?” Idiot. Loser. Stupid little guy. As a friend once said: I need him carnally.)

Where Klaus seeks the physical body, Elijah wants the unchanging devotion. And yet, they both desire the same thing: unearned desire and affection—to be chosen not for their virtues or even despite their flaws, but completely independent of both, simply because they are themselves.
