i got the 3d modeling itch this weekend. appel has some chunky armor and an existing turnaround that's nicely translated to low poly land so he is my victim this time ^_^

new things tried: more polygonal face, whatever the fuck i was doing with the hair, slightly more detailed textures, cartoon outlines, rigging the hair and tail manually. overall not bad! i'm not fully satisfied, but i think i need to 100 pots it. i learned a lot and that should probably be the important part

fucks me up that shay is just a normal teenager in this pic. i think the only other time i've ever drawn him pre-prophecy is in that comic from this winter.

these were some self-indulgent stuff drawn after the most recent session because i am #1 guy who is normal about shay and don.

i still think they're so interesting. their parents being the former chosen-angel pair. them growing up knowing nothing about each other. their weird relationships with their dead dads. i think they could have a lot to talk about if they ever found it in themselves to be emotionally vulnerable

they were an aetherborn bard who had a life expectancy of 6 years, and who had ambitions of writing a song that would outlive them. i also just straight up did not have fun playing them!

i think it was a combination of a lot of factors - i imagined them as a very high-cha showy outgoing character, and at the time (and still now tbh) i did not have the confidence as a player to pull spotlight. they also didn't have super compelling dynamics with the rest of the party and it made it hard to get super excited about them lol

shay is so special to me..... in ways i cant put into words..... i love his arc and his relationships with the other pcs and his driving force and his custom move. so excited to play to find out what happens next :)

quinn has changed a lot in these past nine years... he was originally a long-lost child of a magic portal fantasy kingdom who could shapeshift into a wolf. lowkey he was the very classic emo brooding hoodie-wearing oc of a 12 year old

when i made him, he was very much like an older kid who i thought was sooooo cool. and now he's like a kid i mentor who i see my younger self in. crazy how the passage of time goes, huh?

now quinn's an aspiring superhero with a vaguely masculinity-shaped chip on his shoulder. he's retained some of that guarded standoffishness but has gained a lot more insecurity and goofiness. he's one of my favorites ever tbh

still wearing the grey hoodie of insecurity tho. some things never change
