watch it burn,

Twigs snapped and crunched under her feet as she walked along the edge of the Forbidden Forest.

Dorcas found herself here, curious to see what was truly hiding amongst the trees. Dorcas found herself being lured farther deeper into the forest, letting her fingers run softly along the plants. She breathed in the clean, misty air as she walked. She wasn’t sure what she was looking for or why she was in there but it was cleansing to be in total silence. She took a long, deep breathe. Closing her eyes before continuing her walk. Her heart stopped when she heard the sound of someone else’s footsteps behind her as she continued through the misty trees. Stopping in her tracks, Dorcas pulled her wand from her coat– moving slowly as to not alert the person behind her what her intentions were. With a quick pivot, Dorcas readied her wand and pointed it at the person she saw with a deadly glare. 

“Petrific–,” she started to shout before stopping mid-curse when she made eye contact, “What the hell do you think you’re doing!?”

Bella had been lurking, as she does. The smoke filled up her lungs and left in wisps of white. That’s when she heard it. Crunching and snapping ringing in her ears. Almost dancing down the side of the hill before making it behind Dorcas with minimal sound. Watching, observing. Head tilting as she watched her slow. Both of their feet stopped and then a wand was right in front of her nose. Eyes narrowing darkly, snickering followed soon after. “Why did you stop? i’d love to see what you were about to try and do to me.” Venom in her voice, teeth white and baring as she grinned at her. “What the fuck do you think you’re doing? I was out here first when suddenly, you came right into my area. Messing up my quiet night.” She slapped away Dorcas’s wand from her face. “If you want to fight we can, but i assure you that you’ll regret it. I’ll make sure you bleed.” 

“These mixed nuts are amazing. I won’t lie and say I didn’t add chocolate bits to it just for the sake of a little bit of sweet to my salty, but it is definitely so good,” she bragged as if she had actually baked something, “If you ask nicely, I’ll share.”

“are you attempting to poison me?” bella’s voice was monotone yet her eyes held an air of amusement.

“it seems like it was bound to happen, and the ministry is grasping at straws at this point. they think this will put them on equal footing but it won’t. i don’t think too many agree with the policy at all.”

“the ministry can grasp at whatever they wish. they’ll be in for their rude awakening eventually. agree, don’t agree let’s just hope it really brings out their fear. i love watching people squirm, it lifts my spirits.”

detention wasn’t all that unfamiliar a place for astrid to find herself. she supposed that when you messed around as much as she did, it was probably a natural place to be found. though there were people there that astrid would never have really spoke to. she tried her hardest not to judge others but she didn’t understand some of the people she would share detention with. “i was caught trying to have a little fireworks show in the great hall.” she shrugged her shoulders, “why’re you?” 

“Aye, fine.” Emma didn’t want to give much of a reaction, she could hold back quite well when she was focused. As for going anywhere near Bellatrix Black, her decision was already no. Yet, maybe she had an inkling of a plan to at least work around that. It seemed so far that plan was to stall her own movement towards the other  by reaching around to grab her bag from the table, just to shuffle one hand inside of it. “Yer own bed may be the better option.” 

Bella’s head tilted as her forrest green eyes crossed over the others movements. Blinking before her gaze came to rest back on Emma’s face. “I’ll sleep where I wish to.” Voice curt now, getting tired of the back and forth. she motioned with her finger to join her by the couch. Flashing what one could only explain as a predatory smile. “Is there a problem?” fluidly she was up and out of the couch, over the back of it and in front of Emma. “I thought our conversation was about to get interesting.”

            mary  might’ve  had  a  new  found  tendency  for  risk  taking  this  past  year  but  she  didn’t  have  a  death  wish .  at  bellatrix’s  words  she  pushed  herself  of  the  banister ,  placing  two  feet  firmly  back  on  the  stairs .  “  no  thanks ,  i  dae  rather  like  being  alive  ”

    「 🌼 」    ━━━━━     𝐈𝐍  𝐀  𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄  𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐓  of  way  ,  there  was  always  a  lingering  terror  that  filled  her  veins  whenever  bellatrix  lingers  around  .  she  loved  the  dark  haired  sister  ,  but  that  didn’t  mean  that  the  darkness  that  bella  held  within  her  ,  wasn’t  something  that  didn’t  scare  the  youngest  black  .  but  even  with  the  fear  ,  narcissa  still sought  after  her  .  it  wasn’t  too  obvious  to  those  who  didn’t  share  a  class  with  the  blonde  ,  but  spell  casting  was  not  something  narcissa  was  the  best  at  ,  she  was  okay  at  best  ,  enough  to  pass  ,  though  she  preferred  potions  to  spells  ,  bella  however  seemed  to  have  it  down  pat  ,  at  least  to  narcissa  &  that’s  why  she  went  straight  to  the  girl  for  help  .     ❝               are  you  sure  i’m  moving  it  right  ?  it’s  not  working  !  ❞

she’d been sitting next to bellatrix since they’d arrived– not for the same crime, but alecto’s fell into the misuse of the prefect’s bathroom category. nevertheless, she was pleased bellatrix was in with her. noting her talking to the wix behind them, alecto nudged her with her elbow. “didn’t your parents ever teach you not to talk to mudbloods?” perhaps the harshest thing to leave her lips the entire year, alecto let the words leave her lips in order to please her friend, knowing she was on thin ice anyway with her, having continued to see sirius even after their argument. what bella didn’t know, couldn’t hurt her though, right? “besides, I’m more important, and I’m in crisis here.” she dramatically moaned. “my parents want to set me up with some durmstrang kid. well, i mean he’s already graduated, so not technically a kid.” she mused, making conversation for conversation sake. 

“i can’t only torture them with my wand, ale. where would the fun in that be?” her head come back to the front, only to slide sideways and gaze at alecto. detention was never so bad when she was here, the two of them could make any mundane thing interesting. “are you?” she was, she was of the most importance and her little smirk gave her away. “so, a man? not these boring boys. that part doesn’t sound so awful. but, i’d rather make out with a mudblood than have you shipped off to bulgaria. i wouldn’t let them take you.” she would stow away if she had to, kill whoever it was that thought he was good enough for her best friend. “by the words crisis, i’m taking it that you don’t want that either. anything i can do to get them off your ass?”

It only took a few moments for most of the others to scramble about, having not seen the eldest one in the room from where they stood in a circle. “Oi, just quidditch things.” By now, Emma had figured how to mostly avoid Bellatrix for her own good. Through short exchanges, and usually tagging along to Regulus or even Cassius, she could manage the other’s more intense characteristics. However, right now that was not the case. With no actual team practice to keep her time, or friend by her side, she’d have to navigate her own way out. “Get your nap back on, Black. Unless, Canons’ stats interest you.”

Bella blinked a few times, wondering when she’d last heard so many words from the lower year. Or when she was actually forcing herself to listen. “Right. Quidditch. How’s that..going for you all?” Was this how other people remained civil? Is this what that asked? She didn’t know, all she knew was that she was sitting up from her horizontal position.”Can’t. It was interrupted. I can only sleep in pure silence or the dark. Much like a bat.” Her arm rested on top of the couch. “Come here will you?”

        𝑎  𝑡𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡  𝑠𝑚𝑖𝑙𝑒  𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑒𝑛𝑠         over  him  when  he  hears  bellatrix  over  his  shoulders ,    knowing  at  once  how  to  recognise  her   touch .    barty  washes  it  down  and  keeps  his  eyes   forward   as  she  speaks ,    his  small  reactions  the  only  real  indication  he’s  heard  her .     ❛    patience ,    bella .    it’s  still  early  in  the  night .    you  know  i  can’t  offer  my  services  until  they’ve   thinned   out  a  bit    —   wits   and   bodies   alike .❜       he  sits  back  in  his  chair ,    looking  over  with  the  slight  hood  of  his  lids .       ❛    although …   ❜       he  begins ,       ❛   you’re  rather  familiar  with  the  manor ,    no ?   maybe  you  can  provide  me  a  little  bit  of   incentive   to  let   loose  .  ❜

    ❛     𝑖'𝑚  𝑠𝑢𝑟𝑒  𝑜𝑢𝑟   𝑝𝑎𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑠  𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑         be  so   proud  ,    how  close  we’re  getting  ,  ❜     sirius  starts  meeting  her  repulsion  with  pure  amusement ,    but  the  glimmer  fades  when  she  strikes  a   chord   in  him .    he  doesn’t  take  too  kindly  to   bellatrix   of  all  people   noticing   and  making  a  gag  of  it .    it  gets  him  falling  back  to  the  narrative  of  whether  he  should  have  gone  as  far  as  he  did  with  alecto ;    and  this  certainly   isn’t   what  he  wants  out  of  a  conversation  with  his   least   empathetic  cousin .    so  he  doesn’t  dignify  it  with  a   response ,   biting  at  his  cheeks  and  staring  forward  until  the  topic  changes  and  he  gives  a  huff ,   stepping  back .         ❛    your  friends’  problems  aren’t   mine ,   ❜     sirius  waives  her  off  in  a  hardened  tone ,    done  with  the  mocking  pleasantries .     ❛    and  i  suggest  you  learn  they  aren’t   yours ,    either .   ❜
