Once she finally found the twirling blonde she giggled at how happy she seemed to be. “I hate to interrupt-“ Darcy began in a loud voice to speak over the music as she smiled. “But I was hoping to get your advice!“ She said knowing well she had no green thumb, but wanted to do something beautiful with her little flower beds she made. Can’t have a flower bed without some flowers!
primrose was startled when she heard the voice ; she quickly turned down the music. cheeks turned pink as she walked towards the other. “ that’s quite alright, ” rosie smiled. especially if it was important. “ i would be more than happy to offer some advice! ” the blonde leaned against the counter. “ what can i help you with, darlin’? ”

harrison didn’t want to interrupt her when she was having – a moment. he simply smiled to himself, and tried to take as little place as possible in the little shop. it was a challenge on it’s own considering he was 6 feet 4 and devilishly handsome. it was possible for him to just lay low. after a moment, he couldn’t help to slightly clear his throat for her to know she wasn’t alone. ‘’are you having a lady gaga or a julie andrews moment?’’
she loved letting loose like this ; dancing like nobody was watching. & she thought nobody was until there was a noise that caused her to stop. “ oh, i . . . how long were you there? ” primrose bit her lip gently, feeling slightly embarrassed. “ -- absolutely a julie andrews moment. ” rosie chuckled. julie andrews was one of her idols. the blonde cleared her throat. “ ... is there anything i can help you with? ”
“oh! it just looked like you were digging in the dirt,” she laughed, repositioning herself where she had been sitting to look at her. “i was just enjoying the sunny day. it’s supposed to rain tomorrow.”
“ playing in the dirt? ” giggle. “ no, no .. ” --- although that sounded kind of fun. she would probably prefer playing in the sand, though. “ ugh, rain . . . makes sense you’d soak up that great vitamin d while the sun is still out. ” she rose to her feet and dusted off her skirt. “ mind if I join you? ”
staring was rude, they knew that of course, but that didn’t make it easier to tear their gaze away. hand resting on the handle, jared found themself frozen outside the flower shop, not wanting to interrupt a moment that seemed full of such pure enjoyment. breath held tight in their chest, they eventually worked up the resolve to walk through the door only to find that they didn’t know what to say. they wanted plants to liven up their room, make it less lonely and more like a home, but they also knew they’d kill most plants due to forgetfulness. clearing their throat, they smiled at the florist “Good morning! You are open, right? I’m uh, looking for some flowers that will be easy to care for. Potted, preferably.”
“ oh ! ” blurted primrose at the voice. she was too close to the music to hear the bell above the door when they walked in. she turned, immediately turning down the song. the blonde couldn’t help but feel somewhat embarrassed & so -- her cheeks heated. “ good morning . . . yes. we were just about to open. ” technically they weren’t open - but it was close enough to opening hours that she’d allow them to come in. “ plotted sunflowers are always lovely. ” she told the other. “ you can water them every other day. ” primrose explained. “ or .. you could always go for artifical flowers or plants. with those, you don’t even have to water them. ” she leaned against the counter & crossed her arms. “ we have both options here -- so, it’s totally up to you. ”

“oh you know…i was in the area,” he teased, an amused expression painting his features as he walked in and leaned over the flower counter. he didn’t remember how they had gotten so close, how he had started to see her as his closest person in stardew valley, but it had happened. and perhaps those friendships were the sweetest. “i brought you something,” he said, and took some tulips out of his bag. “first ones of the spring.”
her face beamed with happiness as she saw the tulips. she was thankful to have someone like connor in her life. he always seemed to make the sun shine on her very cloudy days. primrose truly cherished the friendship they had developed. “ oh my goodness, ” the smile on her lips was from one ear to the other. she gently took the tulips & smelled them. “ you didn’t have to, ” her eyes glanced around the shop as she thought about where she would place them. “ they’re beautiful, connor, thank you so much. ”
Having dropped off the twins at their grandparents and Delilah at her school, he went to the flower shop to pick up some seeds since spring was on it’s way and he wanted the garden up and running again for the spring and Summer. “Nice moves,” he said having entered the store and chuckled a bit, “Don’t stop on my account.”
hearing the voice had startled her. rosie’s head darted towards the other & her face was almost instantly red. “ oh, uh -- ” the blonde let out a quiet giggle. “ welcome to stardew floral. ” she lowered the music on her phone. despite him telling her not to stop, primrose knew she had to ; it was the professional thing to do. “ unfortunately, stopping is the right thing to do. ” she smiled. “ how can i help you today? ”
there were few things, on days when connor didn’t want to get out of bed, that got him to get up and get going like knowing he would get to see rosie that evening. he knew her schedule at the flower shop pretty well now, considering how often he planned his weeks ahead in advance. after changing out of his work clothes, and taking a quick shower, connor walked the familiar path out of the wooden area and into the opening of town. that was something he loved about stardew, how every area felt like somewhere totally new. he walked into the flower shop, smiling as soon as he saw her. “happy spring, sunshine.”
morning was primrose’s favourite time of day -- that much everyone who knew her knew very well. it was so secret that she was a morning person ; living in such a sweet little town made her that way, she thinks. rosie had woken up that morning & did her usual routine. bathed, got dressed, cleaned up in the shop and then opened. her head turned towards the door as she heard the bell overhead go off. an instant smile grew to her lips as she saw her favourite person. “ well, well. never thought i’d see you here. how are you? ” she giggled -- obviously joking. “ happy spring to you too, petal. ”
the day was young ; the sun was just starting to rise. it was the blonde’s favourite time of day. primrose twirled around the shop ; her dress poofing out with each spin. she turned up the volume on her phone - which was plugged into a microphone making the song much louder. the live version of shallow played while the girl danced around. primrose hoped no one would walk into the store : mainly because she’d have to stop dancing and be professional.

Penelope had been inspecting some new items before setting them out on the counter for this week’s sale when she noticed someone reaching for a jar of peppermints, precariously balancing them. Her heart clenched in her chest, noticing as it wobbled, then quickly rushed to help, hoping to avoid another shattered glass jar on her watch this week.
“Oh! Let me help you with that!” she said, quickly rushing over and helping them balance the enormous jar and breathing a sigh of relief.
peppermints were best in the morning. to primrose, anyway. she wasn’t sure why -- what made them taste best during floral arrangement time. she hadn’t noticed the wobbling of the jar until she heard someone offer help. “ oh ! thank you so much, pen. ” rosie would have felt awful had the jar fallen & made a mess. “ i would have felt so bad if the jar would have shattered .. thank you, again. ”
“you can come in!” riley smiled warmly. he pulled the door open, happily ignoring the closed sign hanging against the glass. there was always room for one more friendly face. he hadn’t quite finished clearing up anyway, a mop set against the wall and music playing softly in the background.
the boy welcomed them into the little ice cream parlour with a smile and hopped over the counter. “what can i get for you today? the usual? or do you want to branch out and try something interesting? we have caramel balsamic swirl in new this week, if you like caramel i’d totally recommend you try a scoop.” he wiggled his eyebrows and grabbed an ice cream scoop. “how’s your week going? did you see the strawberries back in stock at the market? best day of my life, i can tell ya.”
primrose knew the parlour was closed -- but she thought it would be nice to pay riley a visit. she walked in ; a smile wide on her lips. “ oh .. i love this song. ” rose said quietly. it was one of her favourites.
rose stepped in front of the cashier & hummed as she thought about what kind she wanted. “ alright .. you’ve convinced me. let me try a caramel balsamic swirl. ” she held up two fingers indicating she wanted two scoops. “ please and thank you. ” primrose leaned on the counter. “ mm .. yeah, I’ve seen the strawberries. ” primrose pressed her lips together. the fresh market strawberries truly were the best. “ my week’s been great so far. just planted some new flower seeds. ” she was quite excited to see them grow. “ i’m really excited for summer and fall though .. to plant and sell sunflowers. ” -- which were her favourite flower. “ how’s your week been? ”
