" No, you don't stay at home and play with your friend, it's more fun going to party with all the other children".

"If you continue to spend your life reading, you will end up alone and without friends."

And yes, we would so want our children to have the same lifestyle as us, share the same hobbies, like to spend the same holidays! And we find it so hard to believe that we can flourish in a way of life different from ours!

Here is a small paragraph from a great psychologist of the 70s, which deserves to be thought about.  "Doctor Fitzhugh Dodson", American psychologist specializing in education, and author of the book "  Everything is played before 6 years  ", of which there is an excerpt:

“You really can't stop your child from being who they really are. Why then try? Acting against a natural lifestyle is like throwing an adjustable wrench into the cogs of a machine. By trying to impose your own lifestyle on him you will only have succeeded in making him a distorted and diminished caricature of himself. It will relieve you of a great burden if you give up trying to train your child in your own image. Let it develop naturally and freely.

The essential purpose of this book is to show that your beautiful gift will consist in giving it the freedom to develop fully. It is one of a kind. Give him the option of staying that way. "

Yes, the way of life, unlike “values”, must correspond to the character of each person.

Even if we can encourage our children to open up to our way of life, let's try not to criticize theirs so that they have the “freedom to develop fully”!
