it also mirrors her argument with corlys. rhaenyra had the strongs, her dad and corlys never said anything. she married daemon two minutes after corlys's children's death, he never said anything. she used his fleet. his wife died, his castle burned, his children dead. his granddaughter no longer the prince's future queen, nor the next lady of the tides. his brother murdered by daemon. he has lost everything and everyone. and she refuses to recognize his sons after ALL he has done for her. so finally, after years of covering up and defending her secrets in her time of need, he just calls her out for her bs. it's really so simple. "how dare you not recognize my sons when i defended your bastards for 16 years." it's out. the truth is out. he said it.

I love love love the moment in Gideon the Ninth where the Third challenges the Sixth in a clearly unfair move, and Gideon, half-on-instinct, still faking a vow of silence, simply unsheathes her sword, at which Harrow doesn't miss a beat and says her "The Ninth House will represent the Sixth House" line, while Gideon just smiles.
