Grammatically incorrect: In which the fanfic in question is grammatically incorrect in some form, such as: lack of periods, incorrect punctuation, no capitalization, and poor spelling.

Incoherent plot: In which the fanfic’s story is incoherent and/or hard to follow, or if random plot elements are added in randomly or without warning and the author acts as if they were always there.

Cheesy plot: The name explains itself.

Ship in disguise: In which a really good fanfic is actually a ship fanfic disguised as a story one, and the moment it gets good they hit you with the shipping.

Mafia AU: A fanfic AU trope in which the characters are involved in the mafia in some way. Maybe character A is character B’s partner who is unaware that character B is in the mafia, or character A gets kidnapped by character B, who is the mafia leader.
