I feel like the people who are hating American Sniper so much didn’t watch, or pay attention, to the movie at all. It wasn’t “Islamphobia” propaganda. It did not validate the war. The people who think that it was a good reason to be Islamphobic are also very wrong. It was the memoir of a man who was doing his job. And in his mind, that job was to keep every other Marine with him safe. It showed the mindset that people get into when they are in a war situation. It also showed how hard it is to get out of that mindset with his PTSD at the end. You read basically any other memoir and you are gonna get the exact same thing. Men who are doing their duty for their country and keeping those with them safe. I understand that Tumblr has this “shit on America because everything we do is bad” complex, but don’t shit on the men and women that are putting their lives on the line. Even if you don’t love America, they do enough to be willing to die for it. And the “Glad Chris Kyle is dead!” posts aren’t fucking cute. You sound like an idiot. He may not have been a “hero” to you, but he was someone to every veteran who he helped with their PTSD. He died doing that. So you wanna throw stones at one man, you have a shit ton more people to throw at as well.
