Me:

These are great questions that are well worth contemplating. What I offer here is just more on which you might ruminate and contemplate. Then find out what is true in your experience. 

Enlightenment is its own reward and its own “point.” What is the point of clarity or truth? Simply to live without confusion and falseness. Freedom from such illusions results in freedom from suffering, which is supreme peace. All that is True, Good, and Beautiful dawns in the passing of illusion. 

Just having been born begs the question: What is this? Enlightenment is the revelation of that question followed through to its conclusion. 

As for being part of God but God being more than us and separate, this all comes from the level of duality. 

On one level, there is an individual who walks the path, there is God, and there is a world in which you live. On another level, there is only God. One without a Second, God is the Divine Self that is the Self of all. Realizing this, realizing there is no individual “you” and only That which is beyond comprehension and description, is also part of enlightenment. 

Like I said, these are good questions that a mind might naturally come up with. However these questions are best resolved through direct experience. Meditation, mindfulness, and so on.
