Ok this was the best way to put it. It’s extremely flattering to be the first thought in someone’s head when they look at something so mundane that has nothing to do with you. I really, truly enjoy this. That’s how you know someone’s important.

I feel like athletes will never know what it feels like to practice for months and end up playing for an empty room but will never give up on what they do. Musicians are some of the most dedicated people I know.

And athletes don’t have to worry about giving a perfect performance. People will still pay to see a losing team every week of a season. No one will pay to see a musician who screws up even a little bit on a regular basis.
