Alright so, it’s something than you’ve probably already see or think of before, but please hear me out :
Team SFIR (Sapphire)
This team his friend since they childhood. In fact during this childhood, they lived in a small town in Vale and was part of a great group of friends. They had a pretty peaceful life until, for unknown reason, a great explosion occurred in this town, killing many people. Those four survived, yes, but all became physically or mentally disabled. After the incident, the kingdom took charge of them, giving them health care and shelter, and once they show interesting sight of aura and semblance, they we’re proposed to joined Beacon, which they accepted, with the only requirement than they be put in the same team.
Stephan (Stef) MHON (Leader) : This young boy always have a smile on the face, and so even in the worst situation. Which wasn’t the case when he was young, since he was a very shy and crying boy at this time. However, when his town was destroyed, he understood than people needed someone to cheer them up, just like a they used to cheer him up. So he started by doing the only thing he could do: smiling. During the explosion, Stef was in a narrow room with lot of reverberation. When the explosion occurred, the sound gone in an echoed inside of it so much than it broke his eardrums, making him deaf. After that, he decided than he’s gonna keep talking even with this condition. He keep practicing his speech with his friend, he learn to read lips so he could understand what people’s saying and he learned new word by reading they pronunciation. He also learned the sight language, of course, but he gave himself this task to show people than an handicap isn’t impassable, than everything is still possible.
Over time, he also enhance his sense of touch, making him more sensible to vibration. During mission, he use a devise that enhance a lot this to help him know enemy localisation by sensing they vibration on the ground.
Fara HENLY: A quiet girl who don’t like to stand out to much and who would rather stay in her room listing an audio book than going out. This is due to the trauma of the explosion. During it, Fara had the mischance to see the first flash of the explosion bright enough for it to almost completely blind her. Because of that, she’s now scared of being in to exposed place, where light can travel with ease. But even with this phobia, she’s still a good friend that will always listen to your problems and try to find a solution to it.
Over the years, Fara developed a lot her hearing and became able to ear a whisper over 15 feet. With the help of Stef, she’s the one preparing the strategy of the team for the fight.
Ian MINHOS: An ox faunus with biceps as big as his heart, and he can rip a tree stump with his hand, which could be in contradiction with the fact than he can’t walk. During the explosion, a debris of a building felled on his legs. He managed to get out and his semblance (which activate itself) healed his wound, but his legs where lost. Even after that, Ian decided to not let despair took the best of him. If he could be the best with his legs, he would do the best with his arms, and so started training, thus explaining how today he became so ripped.
On the every day life, Ian use a rolling chair to move, but during mission, he use prosthetic legs.
Rose RUBY: Rose disability his probably the worst one. When she was a child, Rose was the most energetic one of the group. Always smiling, always laughing, often bringing them into complicated situation but always settling them with a good mood. However, when she saw the city she loved so much destroyed, when she saw the friend she had being put under the white blanket, something break inside of her. On this day, Rose lost her emotions, being now more a machine than a person. She didn’t joined Beacon because she wanted, but because she was asked to.
During mission, she’ll stay on position until someone give her an order. Otherwise, she will not move, even under attack. She doesn’t listen to anyone order though, only the order of someone of the team and the rare other friend that survived the explosion.
Team SFIR join Beacon to become some kind of hero, but because they believe than living some great and exiting adventures will bring Rose to get her emotions back.
Fun fact : When I thought of this team, in the beginning, I only wanted to do a parallel with team RWBY with the team name and the leader name. Other than that, they we’re suppose to be totally different person.
But as I was creating them, I found out than they personality was more and more opposed with a member of team RWBY. I understood this while working of Rose and because of that, I decided than I’ll put the resemblance to the roof by giving her the same name than Ruby, but inverted.Â
Fun fact 2 : People who don’t like this team often call them “Team disabled” or “Team crippled”.
