My first opera!!! El Ultimo Sueno de Frida y Diego was streamed live today at the theater in town! It was so cool! Apparently I do not know much about Frida so I'm going to be reading a lot more about her. Really cool production though. It was a reverse Orpheus & Eurydice situation where Frida comes back to life just long enough to escort her dying, scumbag husband to the afterlife. Loved the floor opening up and rotting skeletons crawling through it. Way more funny bits than I expected from an opera. Frida's actress was incredible. The costumes were gorgeous. There was a tree whose roots were veins that kept getting dropped into scenes. Frida doesn't actually want to see Diego, or be alive again, and only goes back so she can paint.

actually fucking disgusting that glasses cost any money like if you actually think about it for more than a few seconds it is so unconscionably inhumane. this goes for things like insulin and mobility aids and hearing aids too ofc but fuck man, fucking glasses? the thing you need to fucking see? its genuinely sickening and inhumanly evil that those cost ANYTHING.

I feel like people have this misconception that friends always agree with you. This is incorrect; A true friend will disagree with you, and even call you out on your bullshit, and still be your friend.

The sooner you start, the sooner you'll be done with it and the sooner you can stop thinking about it. Go on, up you get, it won't be as bad as you think.

You won't want to do it later either. You might as well just do it now. Even if you don't finish it all, anything you manage to get done now is something you don't have to do later (when you still won't want to do it)
