LIZZY. SO. HAD AN IDEA FOR THESE TWO. so they dated for a hot minute??? what if aidan is one of kara’s horror stories??? like maybe she met him in a different town or something??? because i feel like this is the first time aidan has been to va beach but he’s probably been around the area some where before???

“Here,” She said, getting him to his feet, “Try to wash it out with water, that might help.” She stood back, to give him some room. She stood, arm crossed, nervously chewing on her thumb nail as she watched him.

“I’m so sorry,” She said, again.

“Shut up,” She said, smiling, pushing him playfully as he made the comment about her locking her doors more often. To be honest, she probably would. At least, for the next two weeks … until the only person that she ended up locking out was herself and Annie and then it would be back to unlocked doors … and spraying friends in the face.

“But, hey, on a scale from 1 to 10, how well did this stuff work?” She asked, “I mean, if you really were here to rob and/or murder me, you think this might buy me enough time to get away?” She asked, half teasingly, but half serious, “Because we both know that I’m not actually going to start locking the door … even after this. Sorry.”

John dips his head under the running faucet to let the cold water wash over his eyes. He doesn’t really want to admit it but Kara nailed him good. Serves him right considering he made himself at home in her apartment. His previous closeness with Kara still lingers between them even though they are not dating anymore. Truth is, he can’t help but feel an ease in her apartment thanks to their history and his relationship with Annie.

Lifting his head, John reaches to nudge her side as he brings a dry towel to his face, “I’d say, it gets a 10 from me.” He smacks the towel on her face briefly, “Any real invader would definitely be eliminated,” he says, before wetting the corner of the towel to press it against his right eye again. 

He’s about to apologize for coming in unannounced when he feels a sting, “Agh,” he lets out and moves to sit down on the toilet seat. “Hey can you check out my eye?” John asks as he lowers the towel from his eye and looks up at her. “By the way, you’re not allowed to ever carry pepper spray, you’re lethal with perfume, pretty sure I wouldn’t have made it if you had that,” he teases her,  before he makes sure to sit still for her.

Okay, you’ve probably mentioned when these two lived together in our conversations about Kara and Leslie... but remind me. :)) I feel like it was a while ago? Because now Kristen is living with Liz and before that she was living with Zach for like two years. Does that work with Kara’s timeline of roommate musical chairs? I feel like half of Virginia Beach has slept on her couch before.

Also random idea: what would you think about Kara accidentally finding out about Kristen’s ~secret past~ a long time ago? And she’s had to keep that to herself? Kristen will style her hair for free. Blackmail beauty tips!!! (If they were in a girl gang, that’s what it’d be called.)

“All of her free time is spent with her best friend, Leslie (which usually means as far away from the beach as she can get).” IM SOBBING. Kara is such a champ!!!

Atm I am still trying to piece together Leslie’s timeline and how her mental health has been re: all of that. Some basic ideas/questions I have floating around in my head just brainstorming about these two:

Did Leslie ever tell Kara about seeing a therapist?

I’m guessing no. Maybe Leslie has said that she’s been ~volunteering at the library or taking yoga classes to explain the regularly scheduled absences for an hour at a time. Smarty Kara may have figured it out what Leslie was doing or not. That’s really up to you. Both could present interesting plots.

Did Leslie ever live with Kara at some point? (Only b/c it would temporarily solve some of Kara’s $$$ issues and maybe Leslie needed to be looked after for a time.)

Did their friendship ever suffer b/c of Leslie’s mental health problems? If so, have they patched up those wounds and how? Or is there still some distance b/t them?

I see the possibility of Leslie going through a phase when she refused to talk to anyone, lethargic, severely depressed. Shutting Kara out could have taken some toll on their relationship (even if Leslie wasn’t meaning to be cruel.)

Could that distance have led to Kara hanging out with Alan more? Idk much about that dynamic, but it’s just a thought.

“She’s still terrified that the same thing will happen to the people she still has and she’s slow to let people in.” I’m sure this 10000% applies to Kara and Leslie may be very territorial of Kara, always wanting to know where she is, when she’ll be home, etc. I have a feeling Kara has been Leslie rock through a lot of this and Leslie would become paranoid about losing her too; no Kara means no Leslie. 

Late the night before, Annie had texted John letting him know that her dresser handle had broken and she needed him to fix it. Essentially meaning, she needed him over the next day to fix it - two out of the four weeks a month, John ends up at Annie and Kara’s fixing something Annie got broken. 

She takes advantage of him way too much, but she’s just like Sally to him and therefore, he can’t ever say no. 

In between errands, John stopped in to check it out and see if he could fix it real fast and then be on his way. He let himself in because both girls forget to lock the door 9 out of 10 times and there’s usually a 100% guarantee that he’ll be able to get in without either of them there.

Sis <3333 Okay so I feel like Bobby really, really loves Kara and believes she’s basically the best ever which really makes everything he’s done seem so completely awful. He probably didn’t even tell her why he was fired (probably made something up to hide the truth???) because he literally doesn’t want her to ever know about his problem.

Which is probably why he also won’t work for Kara either??? Because he doesn’t want to feel like she’s bailing him out? He wants to stop stealing but doesn’t know how and basically he feels like this huge failure and doesn’t really know how to end his downward spiral??
