i honestly don't really understand why "some people prefer watching gameplay online rather than playing games themselves" is treated as such a taboo when being a spectator is considered a pretty mundane way to engage with most sports, game shows, reality tv or even just like. chess.
As someone whos plays certain games and watches others, this is such an interesting conversation to me.
Something thats seemingly never brought up is how disability interacts with gaming as a hobby. I have a condition that makes fine motor control very difficult/painful. Some games I can work around it, others I cant. I frequently have to overhaul game settings and controls because playing as intended causes me physical pain. Even with adapted settings it can still be painful to play.
Tuning into a lets play allows me to enjoy the media without hurting myself everytime I want to indulge in the content.
I enjoyed playing re9 and I enjoyed watching others play re9.
No closing statement just an additional thought I wanted to throw into the discussion.
