obsessed and stressed

i miss the height of the harry potter fandom, when everyone was constantly theorizing and making headcanons, patiently finding brilliant fanfics among the ridiculous ones, spending hours on the og pottermore site, watching harry potter youtubers rise. i miss when we were eager for every bit of merch or content from jo, before there were floods of it all. i miss the midnight book releases and the movie premieres and the energy, the delighted knowledge that we had the fortune to be alive now, connected by this beautiful thing that was happening. i know we will always have the books and we still have the cons and so so many fans but i feel a bit like i’m reliving the old glory days now. that when it was all happening i did not realize how rare and special it was to be alive at the very apex of it all. i did not recognize or appreciate that perhaps in my lifetime there will never again be anything like those days.
