Rogue gave a small laugh, shrugging. “Uhhh, yeah Ah guess. Just kinda run of the mill at this point.” She eyed the suit with a raised eyebrow. Just a touch bulkier than Tony’s…by like a lot. What on earth was he affiliated with running around in that. “Ah’m Rogue.”

"Yeah you are!" Connor grinned, leaning out of the machine. He didn't look very 'super' but neither did Tony Stark before the audacious red and gold armor appeared around him. Archimedes Mark 3 wasn't as flashy--mostly battleship grey and the shine of reliable steel.

"I'm Archimedes! I fix things. It's so cool to meet an X-Man, especially you! You're my favorite. My second favorite was Cyclops, but then I heard he fumbled Jean Grey by cheating on her, and then he tried to blow up the Avengers. So that was disappointing." The young man was still beaming from ear to ear, holding out a dirty leather gloved hand for Rogue to shake. "What brings you by my neck of the woods??"

Oh. Oh, wow. That had been amazing. A little too violent for Jane's tastes, but amazing. He really was a superhero. But as Jane took her backpack, she realized--

Oh, shoot, he'd asked her name. And like an idiot, she hadn't registered it.

"Jane," she squeaked out, before she cleared her throat. "I'm--I'm Jane. Um. Uh. T-Thank you, thank you s-so much." She ignored the bit about the taser; weapons weren't really her thing. "W-Who are you?"

"I'm Archimedes!" Connor replied, beaming from ear to ear. "I'm here to help, and I'm glad I could help you today!"

The machine landed next to him, hatch open to allow him to climb inside. "Hey, you need a lift to get to where you're going? It's a hundred percent safe, I promise, you just need to hang on to the chassis."

Jane still fidgeted shyly. "J-Just the second floor," she mumbled. She pointed up the stairs to her door. "N-Not far at all. The couch is just--heavy."

Goodness, this was embarrassing--needing help like this. But strangely, a part of it felt...nice? Strange, but nice.

Then something occurred to her, and she bit her lip. "I d-don't have much money to--to pay you with."

"Pfft. Since when do vigilantes take money??" Legitimate question, in Connor's mind. Archimedes moved to a nearby streetside parking spot, and knelt down. The hatch opened, as Connor flipped some switches. "Parking brake, on. Engaging sentry mode...Okay!"

And with that, the mechanic climbed out of the controls of his machine, and merrily jaunted to the other side of the couch. "Okay, you lift your side, help give me directions. We'll get this puppy inside! Ready? One-two-three, go State!" And LIFT!

Secret things, that you should keep secret. "Right!" Corinna exclaimed. "Right, right, no, yeah, secret's totally safe with me." She mimed zipping her mouth shut, lips sealed, and then put that hand up, three fingers in the air. That was scout's honor, right?

Even if I told, nobody'd believe me, she didn't add. It'd come out sounding bad, she was sure, even though it had nothing to do with Connor. Just her.

So! Uh. How've you been?

She glanced from Connor to the robot-suit he leaned against and back as she thought that question over. "Well... definitely not anything near as interesting as you," she replied after a little while.

It was the truth, just maybe not the whole truth and nothing but the truth. What the hell was she supposed to say? Oh, you know. Moved back home for senior year, flunked out of college, parents kicked me out and pretty much disowned me, been bouncing from shitty job to shitty job ever since.

No way. She was gonna sound like a loser. Which she was.

"I mean, look at you!" she exclaimed, gesturing at the 'bot. "Doing the superhero thing. Wow. Did you make this whole thing?"

Connor grinned like a dope.

Archimedes had some...admirers? No, that felt like too generous a word. There were people who were fascinated by the Archimedes and what it could do, and others who were impressed by it. Connor didn't actually get much of the direct admiration. And Corinna was very suddenly scratching that boyish itch.

"Wellll, I really...I really can't take all the credit!" He admitted, still smoking a little as he shoved his hands in his pockets and shyly bumps some rubble aside with his boot. "The chassis, really, was the easy part. It's from that suit that fought Iron Man on the roof of that building in California?" He stepped closer, watching Cori's reaction. "I picked up other pieces as they came! Cabling, wires, gadgets and gizmos. Y'know! Secondhand." He threw up a peace sign to pair with his big foolish smile. "Save the planet, y'know? Recycle!"

...Two seconds later, Connor realized he probably looked like an idiot. And also that Cori hadn't really answered his question. He turned back to the machine, grabbing a toolbox from under the seat and opening it. "Sorry if I scared you. One of the boot repulsors died on me. Should be an easy fix--I can give you a lift somewhere if you need a ride?" He smiled, doing a 'lift' motion with both hands over his head.

Ayesha giggled at the accidental innuendo. Couldn't help it.

"See, I'd think the big robot would make it a lot easier," she said when the laughter subsided. "What with the flying, and all." I promise, he'd said, though. "So... thank you. Means a lot."

Connor put a hand through his curly brown hair. He stared. It was rude, but it was hard not too! When Ayesha giggled, he expected anime stars to leap from the corners of her eyes and the dimples on her cheeks. And then when she turned sincere it was so...tender.

Connor fidgeted in his seat, for a distressingly new reason than the usual suspects. "Well, you too! Mean a lot. I mean." God, he's fumbled it. He's shitted it. He's shitted it so bad.

"You'd...do the same for me, anyway." And the recovery!! The crowd goes mild!!

Archimedes was present for the Battle of New York, but mostly got mistaken for Iron Man the whole time. However, it did allow him to test-run the prototype in a live disaster environment!
