[Masterlist]
Youâre woken up by the system, congratulating you for surviving the third scenario. Then giving you the reward befitting of the scenarioâs difficulty.
Since you donât have any plan for the day due to the dungeon being raid by a lunatic, you decide to just laze around in your green zone. However your food supply is depleting as the day gone by.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you could hunt monster]
A shiver run down your spine just remembering the horrendous monsters youâve seen so far.
As if sensing your trouble, Phainon console you through the blue screen.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you donât have to worry]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you have him]
Miraculously, you do feel slightly at ease. At times like this, you thought you made a good decision choosing Phainon as your supporting constellation, âYou know, Phainon. If you were in a relationship, youâll make a good partner.â You blurt out.
The blue screen did not appear as quick as usual. You imagine the surprise colouring his face although you had never seen him before. Nonetheless, you imagine his surprise look, eyes widen, mouth slightly agape wondering how should he respond.
Maybe you were right about that because Phainon hadnât send a single response even after minutes has passed. âDonât tell me, youâve never been in a relationship before.â You tease but he still didnât respond.
Concern, you called his name. âPhainon.â
Again, not a single respond was given.
âPhainon, are you mad?â You asked. What if you accidentally poke at an old wound?
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he was looking for a stove]
âOh, good. He wasnât mad.â Relieved, you left the conversation behind, âWhat stove?â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you can used it to cook monsterâs meat]
âDo I need seasoning?â You need to know that before cooking any meal. Youâre not just going to eat bland food now, would you?
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said itâll be alright without seasoning]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said cooked monster meat are juicy]
That sounds delicious but the real problem is could you hunt monster? On your way to Chungmuro, the only monster you have encounter is the specter.
âPhainon,â You rummage through your pouch, searching for the item dropped by specters youâve killed. âcan I eat this?â You shows him the stones.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, shake his head]
If the spirit stone is not meant to be eaten, then what is the used of it? You canât just let it rot in your bag.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said it will amplify your trauma]
âThen, is this a torturing device?â If it could amplify someoneâs trauma, it wouldnât be too different from torture. âIf thatâs the case, I might need this for later use.â The spirit stones return to the safety of your pouch.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said it would be difficult to use as torturing device]
Thatâs unfortunate for you, âWhy is that?â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said once you eat the spirit stone, you will temporarily become a ghost species]
Getting your trauma amplified and become a ghost species temporarily on top of that. It does not sound very appealing to you.
[Constellation whoâs a masochist added that monsters species cannot attack you nor will human]
On a second thought, it might be of help to you.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, send a meteor to Constellation whoâs a masochistâs location]
[Constellations who likes thrill whistle loudly and close their ears]
[Constellations from absolute good avert their eyes away]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, warn you to not used it]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said it does not worth the trouble]
You blink at the respond. Heâs not that aggressive usually, this small thing in your possession must be a big deal for him to react that way.
âRelax, Iâm just asking.â Then Phainon bombard you with another responds telling you to never take the spirit stones. He even go as far as telling you to swear an oath. âAlright, I wonât eat it.â You reassured.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, let out a sigh of relief]
Unfortunately, it was a short relief until you open your mouth, âUnlessââ
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, forbid you from eating the spirit stone]
âHear me out first, would you?â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said itâs the end of discussion]
âAlright, fine. I wonât.â At least you didnât swear the oath to him.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you must swear]
âFuck you.â
For a moment, thereâs no reply from him but itâs just a moment.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said swear the oath, not swear at him]
âAlthough youâre being specific, Iâm still not doing it.â Why would you have the spirit stone if not to use it?
Who knows maybe tonight or tomorrow, youâll be force to step out of your green zone and fend for yourself. Why not use the item that could save your life?
If what that masochist constellation said is true, youâll be invisible to both monsters and human. Isnât that a bit too good? If you ignore the fact it will amplify your traumaâ itâs a good deal.
In a reassuring tone, you speak to Phainon. âI can handle my trauma very well.â
[Constellations who had been watching you are side eyeing you]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, raise his eyebrow]
â... Aggressive but itâs well handled.â Itâs not the typical way of handling trauma but it keep you sane somehowâso it work.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you still need to swear the oath]
âMy trauma is not that bad.â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said to not downplay your trauma]
Seeing the conversation is not going anywhere, you decide to just swear the oath to him. âI swear,â You pull out a spirit stone out of your pouch, raising it up in the air as if to make a point, âI wonât use this stone no matter the circumstance.â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, nod]
*****
Phainon let out a relief sigh. âSheâs so stubborn.â Messaging his temple, exhausted. In front of him is the numerous screens from Star Stream, one of them showing his incarnation sitting quietly in her green zone. While some are showing incarnations who claimed to be prophets.
Then, there are two screen separated from the others. One showing the man who stabbed his incarnation, and other screen showing a blurry face man with his group hunting monsters.
Phainon narrow his eyes at the two incarnation who heâs been keeping an eye on since the end of the first scenario.
Heâve overheard Olympus speak of singularity as of late, his curiosity get the better of him and checked on the subject of their topic.
Through the screen, he heard his incarnation calling for him. [âPhainon.â]
He send an indirect message to her as a response.
âYouâll protect me, right?â A hint of doubt and anxiety lace into her voice.
A fond smile grace his lips, his hand tracing over his incarnationâs image. âOf course.â He whispered as if it could reached his incarnationâs ears. âWithout doubt.â He promised.
*****
Thereâs this thought that stuck with you since the apocalypse begin.
Phainon is generous. In fact heâs very generous and lenient that you almost feel bad for being difficult a moment ago but at the same time, your gut is telling you something is going to happen.
You pull out your phone thatâs on the verge of dying with crack everywhere but it still dutifully display the current time on the lock screen.
[2 p.m.]
You turn off the phone and put it back into your pouch. Saving the battery as much as you could until you find a powerbank or a replacement for it. Although you doubt, youâll be using it often.
One thing for sure, youâre bored out of your wit. For the first time since the apocalypse start, you could actually feel boredom haunting you like a ghost haunting some poor soul.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask whatâs wrong]
âI felt bored.â You confess. It wouldnât hurt to confine your trouble to Phainon.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ponder]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said thatâs a good thing]
At the response, you arch an eyebrow at himâprecisely, at the screen. âWhy is that?â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said it means you feel safe]
âNow that you said that.â You wonder back to the past few days. Never once did you feel completely safe despite sleeping soundlessly at night.
In fact, youâre constantly on edge with the thought that everyone would stab you if you let your guard down, just like how the passengers kill each other in cold blood during the first scenario. Though itâs a one-sided massacre, that one scenario made you realized how dangerous human can be when push to a corner.
Not to mention, law did not exist anymore and nothing is keeping the beast in humanâs skin in check.
Beast in humanâs skin.
You look up. The ceiling greet your sight but itâs not your main focus, youâre looking at him. At your sponsor who had been on your side since the start of this apocalypse.
Beast in humanâs skin.
Phainon who had been nothing but kind and generous, supporting and lenient. If he hadnât hint you of the screwdriver at that time, you would have been dead.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, look at you]
Beast in humanâs skin.
Closing your eyes shut, you laid down on the cold floor. âSince Iâm bored, letâs talk about something.â
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, apologize]
âAre you busy?â A question shoot out of your mouth, curious evidence in your tone.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he wonât be able to accompany you for a few days]
Phainon donât usually leave you for long. The longest he ever did was just an hour or two. Him leaving you for days made you slightly anxious just thinking about it.
But since when did you become too dependant to him? Would there be consequences if you keep relying on him?
âItâs alright, I can take care of myself.â You reassured, waving your hand and smiling as if it could lessen his worry, that isâif he truly is worry for you.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, truly feel sorry]
âDonât be like that.â The usual reassured tone slip past your tongue like honey. âIâll be fine.â
The real question is, would really you be fine on your own?
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said heâs sorry]
âYou donât trust me with myself?â You jokingly ask which he response too quickly.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said yes]
An offended gasp escape your lips, âHow could you say that?â
[Constellations from absolute good agree with Constellation, Prisoner of Flames]
Just how unreliable are you in their eyes even those hypocrite donât trust you with yourself?
*****
The third scenario begin without delay, however this time you feel quite lonely that your sponsor isnât around to lift the mood.
Despite the monsters roaming around you, the percentage shown through the survival rate havenât change at all which is reassuring when Phainon isnât around.
The greatsword rest next to you, in case the dokkeabie decide to screw you over and the worst case scenario happen.
Before Phainon left, he give you a stove mean to cook monsterâs meat and 20,000 coins for emergency use. Also reminding you to not put yourself in danger and run whenever your survival rate drop too low. Afterward, you havenât heard anything from him.
âPhainon.â You call him over but the usual blue screen with his modified nickname havenât shows up. âMust have been very busy.â You mutter.
[Constellation whoâs a masochist said youâre like a wife denying her husbandâs death]
A cough left your throat but it was drown by the growl from the nearby monsters. You reach over the nearby drink. Quenching your dry throat, âWhy so ominous?â
[Constellation whoâs a masochist said youâve been calling Constellation Prisoner of Flames for the past 30 minutes]
âBecause Iâm bored.â Phainon will have something to chat about if heâs around but not tonight. Heâs not around and you couldnât sleep without him talking your ears off.
The thought that youâre too dependant to him made you wonder how are you going to survive without him if heâs gone for good.
Nonetheless, you survive the second day without much trouble but the constant growl from the monsters around keep you awake the whole night.
A yawn left your lips as you stare yourself in the mirror. Since Phainon isnât around, you couldnât properly take a bath because some pervert of constellations are watching like a hawk would their prey. Though they give you coins when they get to see your bare ankles or thighs, it still make every strand of hairs in your body to stand still in disgust.
During the day, you try to catch a wink of sleep in some quiet corner and that quietest corner just so happened to be near the dungeon. Where that lunatic man had the teenage girl guarding it strictly so he could hoard all the rewards.
âUnnie.â The teenage girl call with a raise eyebrow. The sword still sheath in her hand as she seize you. âYou donât look like someone who catch a wink of sleep.â She added.
[Survival against this individual: 70%]
[85% chance for this individual to agree with you]
Maybe due to the lack of caffeine in your blood, the question slip out of your mouth. âCan you let me sleep for an hour before you kick me out of here?â
The girl blink a few time, âSince youâre cool, of course!â Then she sat beside you, her sword resting against her shoulder. With a confident grin she reassured, âDonât worry, I got your back, unnie.â
âThank you... You are?â
âLee Jihye.â
âThank you, Lee Jihye.â
âAnytime!â
Not even a minute passed, your eyelid drop and you feels like youâre falling from somewhere high. Very high in fact.
Then a growl, not from monster but from a stomach stir you awake almost immediately.
Lee Jihye who was nearby almost pull out her sword of itâs sheath the moment you jolt awake. Then her stomach grumble and followed by yours, who havenât had breakfast yet.
To avoid the awkwardness, she suggest hunting some monster together and since it would help you get used to killing monster, you agree.
Therefore, you encounter a... Bizarre group. Actually, thereâs this one member whoâs pretty weird in your eyes. Not that he had done anything to earn the irk from youâ itâs just his face. If you had to describe it, you could only say, blurry as if a glitch is hiding him from you.
However, what worry you is your calculation skill.
[S4#v1%@ l ÂŽ@te / 391#@%]
[Err0r!]
This is the first time the skill shown an error. Especially when your sponsor isnât around, adding to your trouble but your confusion fall short after you and Jihye decide to help the survivors to the station.
The way back is quite awkward, the teenage girl did not seem like sheâs in the mood for some chat and the survivors doesnât look like they want to start any conversation after fighting the specters.
Though it was short live until the blurry face man decide to proclaim that heâs a companion of Yoo Jonghyuk.
Although you donât know who that person is. Judging from Lee Jihyeâs reaction, you could guess thatâs the name of the teenagerâs master and maniac who stabbed you on the shoulder.
Lee Jihye turn to you with a serious look, âUnnie, can you keep an eye on them? Iâll go get master!â She said then run off before you could reply.
You want to refuse actually. Why would you want to be within the vicinity of your stabber? Knowing what kind of ruckus he cause back when he first arrived here, you certainly donât want to be on his bad sideâ let alone crossing path with him again.
âYou are that personâs companion?â You ask as a matter of confirmation.
The man smile with confident, âYes. I am Yoo Jonghyukâs companion.â
[T+3 (8#!8# 9f 7#is p3ÂŽs aon @#$ 1738%]
âHeâs a maniac too.â You assumed. Noting that you should put some distance with this man specifically because last time you check, Yoo Jonghyuk can still be within prediction of Possibility Calculation.
As far as you know, someone unpredictable is hard to deal with.
âAll of you must have been very tire.â Come the polite smile to your face, âDid you know about the 3rd Scenario?â It wouldnât be too bad to strike a conversation a little since the teenage girl did ask you to keep an eye on them while she fetch her master.
After all, if that girlâs master can sense your presence and didnât hesitate to stab someone with his sword. Who knows what will happened if you were to get on her bad side.
You converse while resting with the group. Therefore, you manage to get their name in that conversation.
âHow did you distribute food to other survivors?â Lee Hyunsung with book and pen in hands ask, keen on taking note of every detail.
Remembering the days when Yoo Jonghyuk arrived at this place, he didnât bother to take care of the survivors who come with him other than Lee Jihye. Since then, the survivors had been relying on that girl to hunt monster for them. Thatâs too long of an explanation, so you cut it short. âThat girl just now is the one who hunt monsters for the survivors.â
âThe survivors?â Kim Dokja who claimed to be a companion of Yoo Jonghyuk raise an eyebrow. âYouâre not relying on Jihye too?â
That hurt your pride for some reason. Youâre older than Lee Jihye and weaker than her but you couldnât bring yourself to rely on her to bring food to the table. Youâre not that shameless at least. âNo, we just so happened to hunt monsters together at that time.â
âI see.â Kim Dokja yawn, completely bored. Though the glance thrown to your direction goes unnoticed, âShe must be another extra who will die later.â He thought. From what he observed, there is nothing worth noting from your character profile. Even the name of your sponsor doesnât ring a bell to him.
You wonder where has that teenage girl run to because itâs taking longer than you expected. Itâs to the point of you leading the newly arrived group to the restroom. Thankfully, the other survivors donât have the courage to approach you or the group.
âWhat is that green zone for?â Yoo Sangah pointed toward an unoccupied green zone and two survivor fighting over it with bruises all over their face.
Seeing how confuse she was, you decide to explain to her. âPeople like to call it room, you should find one immediately before the third scenario begin. Itâs essential if you want to survive tonight.â All of you climb the stairs, letting the fight over the green zone continue.
The murmurs of crowd enter your ears, alerting you of whatâs awaiting upstairs. Arriving at the first floor, you find a crowd of survivors begging to be let in into a certain green zone.
You remembered coming across the biggest room in Chungmuro when you first arrived. Unfortunately, it was claimed by a grumpy old man. Phainon alerted you to not get on such personâs bad side, thus you avoid the owner til this day.
A kid run past you, hurrying toward the crowd. Wasnât he the same kid currently with the guy who claimed to be Yoo Jonghyukâs companion?
Yes, itâs the same kid actually.
âKid, waitâ!â
The kid had disappear into the crowd and before you could followed through, everyone hurriedly dispersed. The panicked painted across the crowd is enough to spell trouble.
âSangah-ssi, please hold onto Heewon-ssi.â Kim Dokja left the unconscious woman to Yoo Sangah and rush toward the dispersing crowd, chasing after the kid.
[SU4:7v@l r07e* 1-1uĎ664&]
Seeing the undeciphered screen, you hesitate to lend a hand. Although you avoid the grumpy old man till now, the hushed whisper of his capabilities is enough for you to know that you couldnât win against such person.
The syllables of your name fall off of Yoo Sangahâs lips as she beg you to help with Lee Hyunsung looking at you expectantly next to her.
Did you help? No.
Why would Phainon warn you to not get on that grumpy old manâs side if not to put you away from danger? Even the probability of you dying is significant enough for you to know that you must not do anything that would upset him. If possible never made contact with him.
But those pleading eyes are poking at your conscience as second turn to minute. However the sound of notification grab your attention.
Ding!
It was your skill that could finally work properly again.

âDonât worry.â You reassured, thereâs one person that could put your survival at risk at the same time capable of putting people like Gong Pildu in check with his strength alone.
[The chances of situation to escalate further is 14%]
Then the lunatic come to the rescue. Of course, you left as soon as you sense his presence nearby. The chances of you getting swept up into this mess is pretty low but you dare not take any chances.
Though itâs not long before the group find you again before the scenario begin. Not to kill you, just asking if thereâs any empty room left in the station.
You have no idea if there are any vacant rooms left, you donât have the heart to give these people false hope, so you told them that you donât think there are any left.
Maybe karma is getting at you for leaving the group on their own when that lunatic in black coat appear.
Or maybe it was when they asked you for help to search for any vacant room so they can occupy it because as soon as the scenario begin, the dokkeabie added a new rule where some room will disappear.
Unfortunately, yours is one of them.
The green zone disappeared instantly, causing the monsters to snap their head toward you simultaneously. Hunger crystal clear in their eyes. Not wasting any second the herd of monsters swarm you like bees would to invader.

The hold on your greatsword tighten as you smash the closest monster with itâs hilt then slicing the monster behind it in two. As if not wanting to give a moment of respite two monsters jump across the corpse, snapping their jaw open. With a forceful swing, the blade slash through the monstersâ bone.
After killing four monster consecutively, your lungs is gasping for air, your legs shaking from both fear and exhaustion. Youâre drained, both physically and mentally simply by facing the monsters.
For a moment, youâre certain that you wouldnât get used to living within this lawless world.
A deafening roar echo on the station wall, drowning all dying scream of other survivor.

Without second wasted, you throw the bloody greatsword straight to the other large monsterâs head. Blood spurt to the ceiling before the monster fall lifeless along with itâs kin.
Where is Phainon when you need him the most?
You curse under your breath, taking the greatsword off the monsterâs skull and slash the incoming monster in half. âPhainon!â You shout, voice hoarse and desperate but thereâs no answer from him.
A monster lunge forward, jaw wide open, ready to sink itâs teeth to your right leg. Quickly you lift your leg, letting the monster to slide across the floor with a screeching sound.
You stomped onto itâs head, breaking itâs skull, molding the head flat with red liquid spurt put of itâs ears and nose. Once again you swing the greatsword and the floor is bath in blood, the smell of iron made you dizzy and nauseous but you must push through it.

Another monster bite onto your thigh as it pull away with itâs teeth pierce deep in your muscle. Then a scream tore through your throat as an unbearable pain pierce your stomach. With blurry vision, you only see monsters sinking their teeth over your flesh, tearing you alive.

His eyes then caught sight of a familiar greatsword abandoned on the floorâbath in blood. Not far from it is a swamp of monstersâfeasting, then thereâs a monster chewing a leg just a meter away from the swarm and two monsters fighting over a piece of torn clothe.

This is the continuation of this post and also my peace offering.
The sole reason why you reject Phainon is simple. Youâre too meticulous with those who enter your life. Especially those who associate themselves with the Chrysos Heirs and Council of Elders. After all, you prioritized your safety and peace above all else.
Phainon can understand where your cautious steam from and he had no intention of putting you in danger within the safety of the Holy City.
However his broken heart cannot be mend now that he missed the chance to tie the knot with you, who once reserved a sincere affection for him.
Phainon convinced himself that he should be focusing on the bigger problem but in back of his mind, he want to turn back time and confess earlier so he could save you and himself of this horrid disease. It would be alright if both of you did not become an item as long as heâs reassured that the feeling is mutual.
How unfortunately that fate or rather, time was not on his side as you fell for him too soon and he fall for you too late.
Rumour fly across the city of Okhema. Whispers of the famous Deliverer is heartbroken from rejection. The people on the street murmurs their worry for the heartbroken deliverer who caught the unrequited love disease. Some express their concern for the future and some express their curiosity toward the person who manage to have the delivererâs heart in their grasp.
Those whispers reach your ears but you dare not to reveal yourself nor did you want to concern yourself with Phainon.
He already told you that he wasnât inflicted with the disease the last time you met him. Therefore, thereâs nothing to concern yourself with. Thinking he might have gotten the disease after he fall in love with someone new.
Thatâs exactly what you want to believe had it not been for the flowers that keep ending up at your front door by an anonymous senderâitâs not exactly anonymous if the sender himself personally send it to you.
There at your front door, Phainon stood quietly with bouquet in hands, head hung low and sad expression plastered on his face. If he was a dog, his ears will have flatten to his head and his tail will just hung low behind his back.
With a sad smile, he gave you the bouquet and excuse himself, saying there are things he need to do. Concealing the senderâs identity when you ask.
Unfortunately, youâre not a fool. You know heâs lying through his teeth despite not being that close to him. Nonetheless, you let him be and hopefully your peace remind intact.
Unlucky as you were when you confessed to Phainon for the first time. Rumours begin to surround you, everywhere you go, you heard whispers and feel the glaring eyes at the back of your head. Some whispers in hush tone but there are some who intentionally speak louder than necessary.
There are times when you wonder why did he want to pursuit something impossible when he had bigger problem to focus on. Which is saving the world and defend this last standing city from the black tide.
Fortunately(for once), the answer come to you. It was the first demigod, Tribbie who come to your door and explain Phainonâs behavior. âWe told Snowy to never give up even though itâs impossible. After all, old love can bloom again as long as the root remain.â The demigod told you after offering a cup of tea and snacks.
Although you find it impossible to believe after going through with the removal surgery, you decide to smile as a response, not daring to offend the demigod.
Then, you see her off but before she left, she asked you a question. âYou havenât forgotten about Snowy, right?â Itâs more of a confirmation rather than a question.
Thus, you answered honestly that you havenât forgetten him in the slightest. Which make her smile to widen and bid you farewell, humming happily as she left.
Tomorrow come as easily and Phainon once again knock on your door with bouquet in hands, this time his posture is filled with confidence as he flash you with his usual charming smile. Though he still conceal the senderâs identity, he no longer wore the same sad smile on his face nor did he let his head hung low like his many past visits.
Just as he was about to leave, you called him over. Offering to serve him drink and snack with the excuse of showing your gratitude for consistently sending the flower to you.
Hearing the offer, his smile widen. Stars seem to have reside in his eyes because the light in those blue eyes shone like the starry night in Castrum Kremnos. Without second wasted, he skip toward you with the imaginary tail wagging between his legs.
A sacred routine were form after that day.
Every morning, Phainon will come over to your house, bouquet in hand and you will be there, offering drink and snacks before he left to complete his tasks for the day.
Rumours spark across the holy city once more regarding their deliverer who no longer heartbroken. Instead, whispers of his effort pursuing his beloved has come to fruition become a hot topic among gossipers.
Though the rumours are only partially true. Yes, Phainon is no longer heartbroken but more determine to pursue his beloved. The truth only goes as far as that.
His effort has yet to bear visible fruit when it comes to his relationship with yours. Although thereâs a progression, albeit, only slightly.
If you and him are merely strangers when both of you confess. Now, however both of you have become friendsâfriends that barely know each other. But most importantly, his coughing has quiet down since then.
And today, you made it more important because the relationship between you and him will take a huge leap. One that the past you wouldnât even dare to do.
Everything is going well, you sitting on your side of the couch and him sitting on the other end like usual.
Then, out of no where you hand him a spare key, not just any random key but your house key. The key to your private sanctuary. âCome whenever you want, thereâs no need to bring flower.â You added, oblivious or rather nonchalant to his redden face and excited smile as he take the key, careful as to not let it slip off his hand.
On the way back to his residence, a wide smile spread across the delivererâs face, gaze remains lock toward the old key sitting on the palm of his hand as the civilians make ways for him so he wouldnât accidentally bump to them.
Whispers travel across the city, with news that the deliverer has become a lovesick man.
That evening as Phainon finished his task for that day, the demigod of passage, Tribbie approach him with a cheeky smile dancing on her expression. Followed closely behind is the current leader of Chrysos Heirs, the demigod of romance, Aglaea, who wore a knowing smile on her lips.
It was them who had encourage him to pursue you instead of going through with the surgery.
Phainon thought it was pointless at first. However their encouragement reveal the sliver of hope in his predicament.
It was a common knowledge for those who went through with the removal surgery to forget the object of their affection entirely. No matter how famous that person would be, they will be forgetten.
However, that doesnât apply to you. You remembered him, not as the deliverer who held the duty of carrying the worldâs weight on his shoulders, but someone you once sincerely and helplessly in love with.
His hand reached over the key hiding underneath his shirt, where it stay close to his heart.
He can still feel the flower settling in his lung but this time, he no longer cough nor is he vomiting petals. âThank you.â Phainon said with a soft smile adoring his lips.
All he have to do is persist and patiently tend to the remaining root until the bud of affection bloom once more in your heart.
And the key that you personally give him, the one he hide underneath his shirt, is proof that youâre letting him stay in your lifeâa chance to fix whatâs broken.
The next day, Phainon come to your house again. Then he come across a pot of flower, blooming beautifully near the window where the light from dawn device shone the most.
You appear next to him soon after. Telling him, it is the same flower that has been deteriorating your health, and revealing that youâre not ready to part with it despite the flower being the physical manifestation of your inconvenienceâsomething you should rid off but decide not to.
It was at that moment Phainon knew the flower fully bloom in his chest and butterflies flying everywhere in his stomach. His lungs feel fresh as if he just inhale oxygen after drowning for so long.
His gaze land elsewhere, anywhere as long as it wouldnât clash with yours. His hand covering half of his face, not to hide his warming face but to hide his excited smile thatâs keep widening as his heart thumping in his chest.
You just confess to him again. Albeit, indirectly.
Just thinking about it made him giddy. It took everything in him to restraint himself from pulling you into a hug and more. Thus, Phainon stare elsewhere as he let his beating heart calm down on itâs own.
The flower is the living proof that the root of affection still remain in your heart. Thatâs all he need to know to confirm everything between you and him.
Since that day, Phainon is braver with his approach. Whether in public or closed door, he always find your hand to hold onto and when he greet you, it always follow by his forehead resting against yours.
You didnât reprimanded him for it nor did you mind in the slightest. Instead, you return the gesture as if it was a form of greeting only reserved for you two.
When everything is overwhelming, heâll come over to your house. Slumping his weight into your couch while you prepared dinner but when exhaustion hadnât hit him on the head, Phainon will be next to you, helping with anything. No small talk needed, just comfortable silence residing in your sanctuary as you two eat dinner in peace.
Both of you are not lover, yet you do act like one. Giving each other a call every so often with the excuse of âjust checking on youâ, taking each other out on dinner and having a peaceful outting when Phainon is on his day off.
There are times where he just sleep at your place. After a great effort of mustering up the saddest puppy eyes as a way to melt your heart, fortunately it work everytime. Youâll find him sleeping in the guest room with victorious grin glue to his face.
Before leaving your sanctuary, he would take the time to tend to your flowers. Watering it and caressing the petals with a fond look. Phainon will bid it goodbye, then resting his forehead to yours before heading out and complete his task for the day.
This special bond you shared is enough for him to know thereâs a place somewhere in the future, where you and him can confidently call each other lover, and where he can confidently kiss you on the lips and not just resting his forehead against yours.
If Hanahaki disease is real, you know youâre doom the moment you had one because thatâs the moment you realized you genuinely fell in love with Phainon and not just some admiration or lusting over his pretty face.
Worse if you donât even know each other because youâre some random civilian who catch genuine feeling for him while heâs the hero everyone admired and loved.
Other civilian may have fell for him too but not to the point of catching the hanahaki disease. Here you are having that damn disease and contemplating whether you should just confess and be done with it.
To avoid spending too much money, you decide to confess instead of having it remove through surgery. The chance for him to reprocriate is low but never zero, so you gamble.
Does it work? No, youâre unlucky.
Phainon try to reprocriate your feeling to save you. It was out of obligation and you knew very well thatâs not going to work since heâs trying to force himself to like you.
You donât blame him for trying. Knowing how kind hearted he is, if you die, heâll likely feel guilty and blame himself for that.
So, you make peace with your feeling. Thinking your feeling will die down but no, it linger and become an inconvenient for your daily life. Youâre not going anywhere without coughing up every 10 minutes.
Dinner? Youâre coughing petals and almost choked on it. Have a relaxing bath? Say goodbye to your gossip buddies in the public bath, youâre getting noise complaint from others now.
Then after many months later, you finally take the surgery and said goodbye to the inconvenience for good.
Later, Phainon come up to you, all smiley and calling you by your first name in a way you deem as too friendly when both of you never get out of that stranger phase yet. Then suddenly he confess that he finally have feeling for you.
Fortunately, he didnât catch that disease like you which mean he didnât fell for you completely. So, you told him you already had the surgery and apologize for troubling him. Indirectly, rejecting him.
Donât take it wrong, you feel bad rejecting him but it was a decision made after a careful consideration within minutes. Youâre not a fool, you know the power struggle happening between the Chrysos Heirs and the Council of Elders. If you were to associate yourself further with him, you might as well say goodbye to your peace.
When both of you part ways, thatâs when he finally let out a cough and bitterly smile to himself when he see a petal on his palm.
Summary: Youâre a survivor within this madness call scenarios. A madness where youâre force to clear the various scenarios made to entertain the higher beings. Running and fighting against monsters and humans alike. The scenarios twisted and tested your morality in the name of writing a grandiose story. However despite the madness wilting away your sanity and fueling your hatred toward it, a certain constellation had been there from the beginning. Watching over you, lending you a helping hand without asking much in return.

[Masterlist]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, giddily look at you]
âPhainon.â You called his name yet again for the 33rd timesâor was it 34th timesâ that day.
Ever since he told you his name, Phainon had been pestering you to call him by his name. You assumed it wasnât his real name but treat it as if itâs his real name.
Does it annoyed you? Yes, it does but you had a feeling that itâs been a long time since he heard his name from someone elseâs mouth.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, smile happily]
Well, whatever made him happy. If heâs happy, he wouldnât have any thought to discard you.
Since you come to Chungmuro, Phainon teached you things such as terms you donât understand like incarnations, constellations, dokkeabi and Star Stream. Describing the picture you couldnât see with your own eyes.
Itâs easy to digest his teaching in one day. The problem is the fact, he couldnât tell you much about the scenarios. Although he reassured that thereâs an end to scenario, he didnât tell you how many scenario are there to deal with.
What if thereâs hundred or not thousand of scenarios that you must complete? Could you really reach the end? But would it really be âthe endâ?
With a shake of your head, you dismissed the thoughts. Instead you focus on the task at hand.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said this movie have too many drama]
âI know.â You adjust your sun glasses then turn the newspaperâs page, not really reading through the content as your attention is solely on the verbal fight happening two table away from you.
To distract your mind from the apocalypse, you thought about checking out the movie theater. Thinking that the projector might still be working, you set off with the hope you could watch some movie in peace.
When you step on the entrance, you accidentally triggered a hidden scenario. Thus, here you are enjoying the drama unfolding in front of you. Who would have thought you could get the best seat in this drama?
[Some constellations said you are being a hypocrite]
[Some constellations said you are being a busybody too]
âItâs not like any of you stopped being a busybody.â There are times where the nosy constellations tried to peer into your past by dangling coins and some magic thing when Phainon was away. Unfortunately, that doesnât work because Phainon always find out and send them a warning.
âThereâs a saying here that said, âIf you canât stop them, join them.â Iâm applying that saying as we speak.â Thatâs the truth, sometimes you just need to join in when no oneâs on your side.
Thankfully the main leads are busy throwing insults at each other and the barista is too busy listening to them than you to judge you for talking to air.
[Some constellations ponder at your words]
[Some constellations likes your view]
[Constellation whoâs a masochist welcome you]
[You have been gifted 300 coins]
[You have been gifted 100 coins]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if you like this kind of movie]
Honestly youâre not picky with movieâs genre as long as it worth to watch.
Nonetheless, this movieâs atmosphere youâre currently in give you a sense of normalcy. A couple arguing in the middle of cafe, the barista just minding her own business behind the counter with her ears picking up every sip of tea and the bustling city being the background noise.
Itâs as if the apocalypse never happened.
âYes.â You replied mindlessly as you watch the main leads choose to yell out to the world how they love each other. Thus ending their argument with passion kiss and promises.
The barista secretly took picture of the couple as she giggle in joy. She must be delighted because her ship did not sunk to the bottom of the sea.
You stopped yourself from gagging at the blunt affection and buried your nose between the newspaper instead. âYes, this does bring back memories.â
[Some constellations gagged at the sight]
[Some constellations are crying in disgust]
[Some constellations wipe their tears with coins]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, silently laugh at your reaction]
+++
[You have reach the end credit]
+++
Seeing the notification, youâre ready to leave but an out of place bottle caught your eyes, âWhatâs that?â You pointed at the round glass bottle in the display glass.
The barista took out the bottle and hand it to you. âItâs on the house!â She exclaimed.
Blue particles begin to envelope your surrounding. Within a few blink, youâre in the theaterâs hall again with the movie poster slashed roughly.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said once youâve âwatchedâ the movie, you wonât be able to watch it again]
âThatâs sad.â You muttered, you canât hide inside the movie again if things go awry for you.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said donât be discouraged]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said there should be another movie with the same genre]
Feeling a little better, you read the itemâs description in your hands.
+++
[Mana Potion]
After being consumed, permanently increase mana stat by +1.
+++
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said there are things that you could brought back to reality]
âDoes that only apply to item like these?â You hold up the mana potion, âThe disguise clothes doesnât count as item.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said items originally from the movie does not count as item]
âDamnit, I bought those with my own money too.â You should go and demand a refund with the dungeonâs boss when you see them. Although those money will likely be useless in apocalyptic world.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, smile at you]
[You have been gifted 1,000 coins]
âThank you.â You smile back
Phainon told you many times to never reject gift given by constellations. Especially coins.
Knowing your circumstance, rationally, you donât have any reason to reject the freebies given by these higher beings. Although it make you look like a pitiful beggar, you rationalized it was for the sake of your safety. If you must take advantage of these beingsâ kindness to survive, then you could be a little shameless. Even if it was Phainon.
Without further ado, you drink the mana potion and went to the second floor of the theater. On the way, you avoid movies with genre action and thriller like a plague. Why would you have to role play when your life genre had become action and thriller?
Nevertheless, you did not let the opportunity go to waste as you enjoy the little illusion of normalcy you could grasp. While also grabbing any items that could be brought back to reality as a side mission.
Time passed quickly that you reach the fifth floor with variety of potions in hands. You chose to consumed them before exploring further in case someone decide to stole it.
[You have enter reward room]
[Only two item can be taken as reward]
Since youâre the only one who enter this dungeon and reach this point. Thereâs a lot of choice for you to chose from.
Browsing through numerous reward, you pick up a pair of pouch where the storageâs size is triple the size of regular school bag. Strapping one of the pouch to your thigh and the other to your arm, fastening the belt so none of it would fall off easily. Now you could carry your spare clothes and necessary with ease. Moreover, you donât have to worry about your bag being stolen anymore.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, nodded at your choice]
[One more item can be taken as reward]
You thought of picking a weapon for yourself since you have Weapon Proficiency skill but what exactly would you need? Thereâs a lot of weapons on display but you can only take one.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, raise up his hand]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you can let him pick for you]
For a moment you ponder about it. Since heâs been there to guide you through scenarios, you can have some faith in him to choose something that would ensure your survival.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, pointed at the greatsword]
At the end of displayed weapons, a greatsword lay in itâs glass case. Carved to itâs silver edge is inscription you donât know the meaning of. Not a single rust in sight and shining as the light reflect on the bladeâs surface as if itâs polished diligently everyday by itâs wielder
âI donât think I can lift that.â You quickly response.
Had Phainon pick a sword or an axe, you wouldnât mind because they are easier to wield than a greatsword. Not to mention if you were to compare itâs size with you, it could smack your chin once you loose grip by accident.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, chuckles at your cluelessness]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, insist you take the greatsword as a reward]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said it will be useful]
At his insistent you pick up the greatsword. Surprisingly it was light as if youâre holding a wooden stick and not a metal forged into sword. You lift it up, swing it onceâtwice then come the third swing. You gape in awe at how effortless it is to swing the what seem like a heavy sword.
Amidst your awe, the itemâs description appear in the blue box. Informing you of itâs story.
+++
[Greatsword of Damnation]
Grade: Replica
Story: The greatsword was forged with the ore of earthâs core, melt with the flames of destruction and cool in reveries of sea. Once it was completed, the blade gain consciousness. Only those it deem worthy can wield it, for those it deem unworthy shall meet their end as soon as their hand touch itâs hilt. Through itâs lifetime only 3 people has wield it, along with itâs master, they brought damnation to injustice and evildoers.
Effect: Increase the wielderâs Agility by +1.
+++
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he have a gift for you]
[You have received your first Stigma]
[Stigma: Let There Be Light have been acquired]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said this is his small gift]
âSmall gift...?â You doubt this is a small gift because from what you remembered of Phainonâs teaching, stigma is a skill that couldnât be obtained easily. Nonetheless, you thank him out of gratitude.
Although the problem is how are you going to fit the greatsword into the pouch tied to your thigh. You try to stretch the pouch mouth open and forcefully shove the greatsword in.
After some great effort, you finally decide to exit the dungeon. Strangely enough, the way back to the exit is too silent for your liking. All you could hear is the sound of your footstep against the floor, echoing in the empty theater. Even Phainon has gone quiet for some reason.
Ding!
[Warning!]
[Survival rate decreasing tremendously]
âWhat?â You scan the empty theater, wondering what could be so dangerous for the system to warn you.
[Warning!]
[Survival rate decreasing tremendously]
Not knowing what to do, you called over your sponsor. âPhainon?â Your hand grabbing the greatsword hilt and pulling it out of the pouch but itâs quillon got stuck.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, tell you to hide]
Your brows knitted together, he seem to know something that you donâtâ or rather, he knows exactly whatâs threatening your survival but you quickly search for some place to hide. Jumping over the cashier counter and hiding yourself in the cabinet as footstep reverberate in your ears.
A man in black coat enter the dungeon, each step is like a stroll in the park as he walk pass the cashier counters. Not suspecting anything but for a second he halt.
Sring!
A blade stabbed through the counter. The man pierce the blade deeper into the material before pulling the sword out, blood bathing the tip of his sword. âCorpse...â The words left his mouth as if confirming his suspicious. Wordlessly, he flick the sword causing the blood to splattered to the floor.
âCorpse.â He sheath the sword and continue to leisurely walk toward one of the poster. A light flash down on him, his body turning into particle before disappearing completely.
[Constellations heave out a relief breath]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you can get out now]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you have done well]
The cabinetâs door swing open, you crawl out of the cramp space. Wincing everytime your bleeding shoulder move too much. Your vision slightly blurry from tears. âThat bastard stabbed my shoulder!â You curse angrily.
You tear the sleeve of your clothe, using it to dress your wounded shoulder. Although it was clumsy, fortunately the bleeding has stopped.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, urge you to leave the dungeon as soon as possible]
Although you want to lay down and let the pain on your shoulder to sooth in. The rational part of your brain agree with Phainon.
Thereâs a chance that same bastard will appear again while youâre trying to catch a break. If he could sense you just now, who knows what will happened to you if you encounter him again.
Without wasting another second, you left the dungeon in a hurry. Before you head to where the other survivors are supposed to gather, you took the time to change your clothes.
You donât want to be a sore thumb when you try to blend in with the rest of the survivors. Also you want to hide your wounded shoulder as much as possible so the bastard wouldnât be able to recognize you easily.
The panicked murmur from the distance made you wonder as to what has the other survivors up to this time. Until you reach the stair and see the green plates everywhere.
You also see some new faces as you quietly descend down the stair.
Ding.

âWhatâs this?â You read through the scenarioâs condition. âIt doesnât sounds too bad...â On paper, the scenario doesnât look that hard but if itâs put to practice, would it be that easy?
Ding.
[Survival rate: 10%]
Why is your survival rate so low?
Ding!
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, instruct you to find a green zone as soon as possible]
The other survivors already rush toward nearby green plate, claiming ownership before others could. Some fight over the green plate, some negotiate, some even gang up on those weaker than them.
From the corner of your eye, you caught sight of a boy killing another survivor for the green zone. Baseball pointed to your direction.
Since you have no intention of fighting over the zone yet, you decide to use the old friendly way instead. Ignoring the trembling boy, you begin searching for vacant zone.
Fortunately, you did find one after avoiding bloody fight every so often on your way. Occupying the green zone, your survival rate shoot up to 75% instantly.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, advice you to stay within the green zone for the time being]
You donât think much of it and decide to follow Phainonâs advice. Beside, youâre done exploring the dungeon and looking at the time, it is time for you to hit the hay.
With no second wasted, you sleep for the rest of the night while the other survivors with no green zone are struggling with the scenario.
Unlike yesterday, you couldnât go to the dungeon to have a taste of normalcy because the bastard who stabbed you has been hoarding the dungeon all for himself. He even had a teenage girl guarding the entrance to prevent anyone from entering.
Although you have no qualm regarding that matter at the moment.
With sheathing frustration, you call your sponsorâs name, âPhainon.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said to use peaceful method first]
You pointed at the person who just stole your green zone. âThatâs mine. I just left it for 5 minutes to brush my teeth and comeback to this.â You complain to your sponsor.
âThis is mine now!â The person shout, his hand clutching to your food supply and a dull knife directed to you, trying to scare you off.
[Some constellation sigh at your foolish decision]
Five minutes earlier you foolishly left your food supply at the green zone while you have some time for yourself. Thinking it could mark the zone as taken but the plan did not work as you had imagine.
Now not only did you lose your green zone, you also lose your food supply to some random stranger.
Sighing to yourself, you opt for peaceful method as Phainon suggested. âYouâre standing on my zone. Please, return it back.â
âFinder keepers. Itâs mine now.â He smirk as if he had won a lottery.
It is a lottery if you consider how scattered food is since the apocalypse start.
âWhy are you so smug?â You retort, dumbfounded by the personâs remark. âYou do know you just stole from me, right?â
The man scoff, âThen next time, donât leave your room and food just like that.â As if to rub salt to your face, he added, âBut I doubt youâll survive even if you stand here all day. If youâre lucky enough, you can whore yourself out of trouble.â
Your eye twitch at his remark.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, is glaring at the thief]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you can use force]
[You have been gifted 4,000 coins]
[Some constellations are jealous of Constellation, Prisoner of Flamesâs generosity]
[Constellations from absolute good are enraged by the thiefâs words]
[Constellations from absolute good demand the thief to apologize]

With the system confirming your victory, you land a punch across the thiefâs face. Sending him flying out of your green zone, leaving the zone unoccupied.
âThis is also mine.â You snatch the bag containing your food supply and occupied the green zone as if nothing happened.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you should land another punch]
The stranger laid helplessly on the cold floor with bruised cheek and bleeding nose. The knife he used to threaten you with is out of his reach, thus leaving him defenseless.
You walk closer to him. Amidst his daze mind, his eyes still followed your closing figure. Fear overwrite the pain on his cheek as he stumbled backward.
âIâIâm sorry!â He blurt.
Without mercy you stomped onto his private part causing him to roar out a cry across the station. The nearby bystanders mourn over the lost of his private part, averting away their gaze, closing their eyes and closing their thighs as if theyâre the one whoâs in his position.

The nearby bystanders immediately scattered, afraid they will soon become your next victim.

At the dungeon entrance, a man dress in black return from hoarding most of the reward in the dungeon. Without delay he approach the teenage girl who he had tasked to guard the entrance so no one other than him can enter.
âMaster!â The girl excitedly approach him, a sword similar to the man in her hand. âMaster, thereâs a cool unnie downstairs! Thereâs a jerk who stole her room and food, then he get punch by the unnie and get his private part stomped.â She excitedly speak, âBut youâre still cooler, master!â She add a thumbs up.
âI see.â He acknowledged before heading downstairs.
âAre you going to take her too?â The girl ask, a hint of excitement lace on her voice.
Her question was left unanswered by her master who remain silent until they each reached their respective room.
30 minutes before the third main scenario begin. Yoo Jonghyuk took the opportunity to survey the survivors in Chungmuro. In his previous round, thereâs no one whoâs impressive enough for him to recruit. Thus, he didnât bother to involve himself with those in Chungmuro.
However, due to a certain encounter with a self proclaimed prophet. Yoo Jonghyuk thought in this regression, something could change. Even if it was as small as dust, he want to see what had change from the previous regression.
The survivors begin fighting over the green zoneâor âroomâ for easier term. Nevertheless, none of the survivors dare to lay a hand on Yoo Jonghyuk or Lee Jihye because he caused quite a ruckus when he arrive yesterday.
One particular survivor remain calm through the chaos, busy eating biscuit and drinking a can of soda as if watching a movieâs scene happening in real life.
[Activating Eye of Sage]
âUnimpressive.â Yoo Jonghyuk whispered. There is nothing special regarding this unusual woman other than a slightly higher stat. Therefore he conclude his surveying and return to his room.
[Personal skill False Facade is strongly active]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said heâs gone]
A sigh of relief heave out of your lips as you put down your drink. âThat was close.â Had it not been for Phainon warning you of your stabber, you would have thought that man was just an overly handsome model.
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you should rest]
[Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he will keep watch]
A smile bloom across your face, âSince you offer, I will.â For some reason, having Phainon around made you at ease. Maybe you donât have to find a way to break the contract after all.
Like the nights before, you bid him goodnight the moment your eyelids begin cast downward. âGoodnight, Phainon.â
The day end with you sleeping through the chaos once again.

Sitting amidst the golden field, was a man. Hair as white as snow and eyes as blue as skyâs canvas glaring harshly at the palm of his hand, spark of probability swirl like a breeze then disintegrate to dust.
A heave of breath left his throat, he lay down against the golden wheats. Fixing his gaze at the sky and then the blue screen showing the sleeping incarnation.
His rough hand tracing over the image in the floating screen. Fondness dancing in those eyes, no longer stay the harsh gaze as he whisper, âGoodnight.â
Thinking about yandere Phainon with s/o who donât mind his yandere tendency.
For someone who roll with the flow. You certainly donât mind the potential danger that Phainon could bring.
Just imagine, one boring day, youâre just minding your own business in your cozy house. Then you find a man in your living roomâ not just any man but the famous Chrysos Heir, Phainon. Staring at some picture frame on the wall.
What did you do? Serve him drink.
It happened a few more time. Sometimes during Entry Hour or when heâs busy with his duty, he would visit when itâs in the middle of Curtain-fall hour. Lock picking your front door, lock it again when heâs inside then just watch you sleep. If you were awake during that time, Phainon will find himself in the dining room, having dinner with you.
There are times when you left him to his own device in the house and come back to him rummaging through your wardrobe and stuffing his face in your clothes. When you caught him, he was embarrassed and swear he wouldnât do it again but if you brush it off and didnât mind. Consider your clothes to smell like him all the time.
As time passed, you just gave him your spare key and cook extra portion of dinner for him.
Some of your neighbors has been teasing you since they caught sight of Phainon leaving your house. Wiggling their eyebrow and whistling everytime Phainon walk up to you in public. Your neighbors are supportive when they donât know his weird tendency. Hopefully that remind the same.
Thinking about Phainon with s/o that like to sacrifice themselves when things go wrong then come back to life. Basically Kim Dokja.
Letâs make this clear. As much as Phainon love and cherish you, he consider locking you up sometimes.
Youâre not a Chrysos Heir but you sure do treat their business like yours.
Theyâre going to an expedition to get the coreflame of strife? Youâre already in Castrum Kremnos, clearing every monsters in the way and already have ten set of back-up plans in case none of their plans work.
Doesnât sounds too bad at first. Until none of your back-up plans work. Then that is where you become the source of their stress. Especially, Phainon.
Because the situation can either go well or you had other plan which include dying in the process. Although the mission is successful either way. The latter is the worse case scenario and Phainon rather avoid it at all cost.
You died before and the Chrysos Heirs become the witness of it. They even held a funeral for you, mourning and cry for you. An hour or so later, you come back to life, slipping a joke about your death as if trying to lift the solemn atmosphere.
At first, Phainon thought it was a miracle but as time passed and you keep doing it over and over again. He begin to resent the idea of you dying because unlike Mydei who can resurrect back to life because of his immortality, yours on the other hand is not a simple resurrection.
If Mydei resist deathâs call and crawl out of deathâs embrace. You make a deal with death to send you back to the world of the living.
You told him that your resurrection only apply when you have fulfilled a certain condition although you donât even bother to tell Phainon about it in detail.
What if one day you did not resurrect because you couldnât fulfilled the condition?
You see what heâs worrying about? No, you donât. But you do understand his worry however you donât see the need to tell him that you have a back-up resurrection plan in case your current resurrection ability donât work.
If you really want to keep stressing him out, then go ahead and put your life at stake every chance given. Keep putting your life in dangerâ who knows, you might one day died by Khaslanaâs hand too.
Although thereâs a huge chance you might never be able to resurrect again if that were to happen.

Thinking about heartbroken Phainon because his s/o âabandonedâ him.
As a transmigrator who cope by saying the world around you is nothing but ink and papers. You donât really build a deep emotional connection with Phainon despite dating him. At least, in your unreliable narrator side of the story.
Unlike Phainon who genuinely and sincerely love you. He would practically latch himself to you if possible. Unfortunately, thatâs impossible and you show strong dislike at the mention of it. Thus, he never brought it up again.
Though deep inside, he wondered why you lack the enthusiasm after you two begin dating. If he had to compare the you before and after dating was like sky and earth.
Before dating, you were determine to win his heart. But after he yield to your love confession, your enthusiasm feels like an illusion. You never approach him, never kiss him, you never said those three words again. Most importantly, you never look at him like someone's in love.
He feels as if you only see him as a task to complete.
At your confusing behavior, he took the liberty to take the rein and lead the path of your relationship. âLetâs move in together.â He suggested, hoping you would show a slight excitement or maybe a surprise expression. Although he was slightly disappointed when you simply analyzed his face and agreed.
Even after living under the same roof, you are pretty distance. You set boundaries, both of you sleep in separate room, taking turn doing laundry and having a schedule chores for who will do this and that for a particular day. It feels like heâs living with a roommate rather than his significant other.
Phainon is patient. Thatâs why he endured your cold indifferent until he lose you completely.
He had come home later then initial but Phainon believed you will let it slide. Once heâs in the foyer, he took notice of the deafening silence. You never approach but you never missed to at leastâafter much of pestering from himâwelcome him back. The house was cold and dark. As if abandoned.
Not caring the fact his shoes are still on, he step inside. Practically sprinting to every room and bursting down door, dread creeping into his ankles as the remaining room unexplored beginning to decrease. Desperate prayer leaving his lips as he beg any gods out there to not let his fear comes true.
Unfortunately, his prayers fell to deaf ears when every corner of the house has been checked and thereâs not a single trace of you.
However, Phainon did not succumb easily. He reason with himself that you must have some work to do and left in a hurry without time to left a little message for him. With such reason in mind, Phainon continue his day like usual.
Then come the day after and youâre still no where to be seen.
He bombarded you with messages and missed calls. The replied he received is not from you but the services saying, you are currently out of reach.
He reach out to Aglaea. Sharing his trouble and asking for help, she complied and extending her golden thread to find you. Unfortunately, youâre still no where to be seen.
Phainon is resilient man. He turn to Cipher and Castorice for help, relying on their ability fo search for you. Only for him to be disappointed with the non desired result presented to him.
Even going as far as putting up a missing person posture all over the city.
Finally after exhausting all options did he succumb to devastation. He wondered if what you and him had was even real.
Were you just acting? What was it that driven you away from him? Did he do something wrong that upset you so much to the point you left him without word?
Every question that he buried deep in the back of his mind come bursting one after another.
Deep in the confined of his room. Curling up with your belongings surrounding him, Phainon silently cry his broken heart out. If he was given the chance to see you again, he want to ask why had you left him.
If there was a chance.
Thus he sleep while drowning in his sadness because in the morning, he donât have the leisure to dwell in his sadness for long.
Then come the time he absorbed the previous Phainonâs memories. Each one of them flood into his head like a hurricane but one particular thing remind consistent through the cycles yet different.
You and your love for him. In each cycle, you approach him with those charming smile and in each one he reject you in gentlest way possible. Yet shortly after, you either disappeared or died in some way he rather not mention.
He wonder why in this particular cycle, he did not reject you and instead let you settle in his heart. Unfortunately, you left without word and brought with you, his heart.
Never does it cross his mind that youâre quite similar to him. Therefore, he continue his mission, stop the flamechase journey of this cycle and pass the torch to him in the next cycle.
But the little broken heart of his whisper just a sliver bit of his selfish wish. He wanted an answer from you even if it was from you in the next cycle. At least he need a little closure as to why you abandoned him.
However, misfortuneâor was it karma?â befall him. Every corner of Amphoreus, every crook and cranny. No matter how far he goes, you are no where to be seen. Even after his memories has been absorbed by the this cycle him and the next.
Even after millions cycles later, he havenât get a single glimpse of you.
And after the defeat of Irontomb, Amphoreus can exist with itâs own strength and the cycles can finally be put to rest. He asked for the heroes beyond the sky for help.
âThereâs nothing useful but this is certainly an interest discovery.â Herta, give Phainon a thick book or rather a diary of some sort. âWhile Screwy and I checked through the system, thereâs seem to be intruder during the eternal reoccurrence.â
âConclusion: there are unknown forces breaching through the firewall of Amphoreus. The unknown forces may likely be the person you spoke of, lord Phainon.â Screwllum added which give the white hair man a slight hope to his unanswered questions.
「When I get out of here, Iâm going to fuck that system up and burn it with hellâs fire.」
Phainon close the book. Thinking itâs better if he read it in the confined of his room. Thatâs what he did, with the book in hand, he read through it earnestly. Swallowing every word like a man deprave of water.
「Why am I given this dating quest? Is it not enough fucking me up with regressor depression in the first world? Iâve cleared the tower, I complete every quest and I defeat every monsters that took my comradesâ life. Why must I go through this again?」
Phainon isolated himself for days and only come out to finish some paperwork and return to read through the book because the book contain words hidden beneath your indifferentâ the answers to his unanswered questions.
The more he read, the more he understand where your indifferent come from. Why you wanted to create distance for yourself and him. Why you consistently chasing him.
It was all so you could return back to your home.
You may not have love him the same way he do but he feel reassured when you actually concern yourself with his well being in every cycle.
「Then what will happened to him if Iâm gone? Hopefully his memories get wipe out. Itâll be less painful for him. If that wasnât the case, letâs just hope he hate me enough so heâll forget me.」
â... Selfish.â He comment through gritted teeth. How could you be this selfish? True, it will be less painful for him but what about you? Wouldnât you remembered every second of it?
Every whisper of love, every kiss, every touch. Wouldnât that remain scarred with you?
Closing the book, he hug it close to his aching chest. Laying down in the bed, tears beginning to stream down his eyes, soft sob escaping his lips.
Although millions of cycles has passed, he still sincerely love you.
Phainon will not forget you even if thatâs what you desperately wish for.

Using the flashlight to illuminate the dark tunnel, you path through the abyssal like tunnel. Though your heart thrumming against your ribcages, the chilling wind caressing your skin and eerie silence made you falter every now and then. You had no other choice but to push through.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask why you didnât warn your friend]
The screen float and you halt, âFriend?â You arch an eyebrow at the word. Do you even have friends before this apocalypse start? You sure you do.
âWho?â You throw back another question.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if incarnation Melissa is not your friend]
Seeing the message, you answer honestly. âNo, sheâs not.â After all, sheâs just someone you trade item with. What you and her just had were business. Give and take. Thatâs all and nothing more.
Beside, she could have stab you in the back if youâre not careful. Who knows what will happen if you stay longer in that place. You could have been gang up by those survivors just to steal your food.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask why you didnât give her a warning at least]
âWhy should I?â A guinea question left your lips. Why would you do something that made no profit? Especially at times like this where you could have die at any moment. How you sleep peacefully without getting murder last night was a miracle and miracle donât happened twice.
[Constellations from absolute good frown at your response]
You shrugged off their complaint but seeing the word âabsolute goodâ caught your attention immediately. âWhat nonsense.â You commented.
In your eyes there is no such a thing as absolute good. Just a bunch of people who claimed to be self-righteous and critic those who did something unbefitting to their standard.
Although there are people whoâs just as kind to others, itâs just rare to find nowadays. âPeople like that would likely die first in the first scenario. Saying that their sacrifice will be for the greater good.â The thought settle in your head.
However you beg to defer because they only prolong the suffering for those who survive.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if thereâs a specific reason]
âThere is none.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, is unsatisfied with your answer]
The constellation whom you donât even know how he look like keep pestering. He might not like the way you keep throwing back question instead of answering him truthfully.
Then come the busybodies who donât have anything to do. They joined in the pestering until your vision is blocked by unending messages. You donât even need to read through every one of them, they all ask the same thing.
Frustrated, you blur out. âYou want answer?â You grumbled while clicking the close button for every message, âNot every good deed get rewarded, alright? Beside, there are greedy people out there. They will just come for more and get angry when you had nothing to offer them.â
[Constellations from absolute good do not agree with your statement]
âIf you donât agree, bother someone else.â You click the close button aggressively. âThereâs pushover you can praise out there. Reward them rather than loitering around here if youâre really from the so called absolute good.â
[Constellation from absolute good are offended by your response]
[Constellations from absolute good demand you to apologize]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, glare at Constellations from absolute good]
[Constellations from absolute good are wary of Constellation, Prisoner of Flames]
[Constellation whoâs a masochist likes it when youâre angry]
[You have been gifted 100 coins]
Rather than listening to their pointless argument, you resume your journey. With flashlight in your non dominant hand and the hammer on the backpack side pocket, ready for you to pull out in case of an emergency.

A howling screech rang inside the tunnel as you smash itâs face with the hammer. With tears smearing your face, you land another hit to the ghost like cloak.
With each swing of the hammer, the ghost like cloak let out another screech. You hit it again until it become limp and motionless.
Once you deem it dead, you turn to the other one. It try putting you under the illusion of your trauma once again but it was deem useless when the mental barrier protect your mind.
Corner and not wanting to meet the same fate as itâs kin, it decide to flee. But you did not let it run nor will it get away unscathed.
If it dare to use your trauma against you, it should have been prepared for what your response should be.
Though itâs not easy to chase it down through the dark tunnel, you manage to grabbed the hem of itâs cloak and forcefully pulled it. Pinning it against the ground. Just like itâs dead kin, you smash the hammer onto itâs head without mercy multiple times.

You wanted to respond to him at least, so you rise a thumb up while waiting for your whole body to relax.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, let out a relief sigh]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you shouldnât run after the specter]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, scold you for leaving your belonging behind]
At the mention of your belonging, you quickly inspect yourself. The only thing you had with you is the hammer. Your bags and the flashlight must have fell off when you chase after the run away specter.
Fortunately, the flashlight is still on and your bags are still intact. Or else youâre going to lose your way in this tunnel.
You first pick up the flashlight, beaming it around to see if thereâs anymore specter that you missed. Deeming it safe, you finally pick up the backpack and the bag containing your food supply. Then, you collect the items drop by the specters in case you need it for later.

As you walk down the path, you finally saw a light at the end of the tunnel. Youâre closer to your destination.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, want to ask you]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if you only help someone when thereâs something to gain]
âYou could put it that way.â You shrugged. Itâs harsh to put it nonetheless it kind of fit your philosophy.
「Do only within necessary. Donât go beyond and donât do less.」
Even your make up routine followed the same rule because heavy make up will attract too many attention but lightly apply make up will make other see you less appealing to approach.

You frown at the message, âWhy are these guys still here? Are they trying to prove their point?â If they did, itâs a futile thing to do. What theyâre doing is nothing more than filling a damaged bucket with water.

âReward?â The word come out involuntary. As if the child from your childhood reemerges. Not wanting to show your giddiness, you added. âIf youâre going to praise me, Iâll pretend you didnât say anything.â

Looking at your own stat now, you really wonder how you manage to defeat two specter with such stats.
Nonetheless, youâre grateful that your sponsor is pretty generous when you open the dokkeabieâs shop and survey the price of the skills he had brought for you.
Whether itâs the old world or this new ruin world. Everything is so pricey. Had you not pick your sponsor, you would have a hard time surviving through that illusory prison.
While brushing your teeth, you silently whisper your gratitude to your sponsor. Of course, he did not catch on it since heâs busy fending off perverts for your convenient.

Using the backpack as your pillow, you lay down on the cold uncomfortable floor. Staring absently at the ceiling as you begin counting sheep jumping across a wooden fence.
Sleep has yet to claim you, so you count how many sheep has the wolf eaten. Then when thereâs no more sheep for the wolf to eat, you count the stars who bare witness to the carnage. Yet sleep refuse to take you to paradise of dream.
It would be nice if thereâs sleeping pills lying around but you wouldnât get it even if thereâs any.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if you couldnât sleep]
âIs it not obvious enough?â You sat up.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he couldnât tell]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you look like someone whoâs deep in thought]
If counting how many sheep jump across a wooden fence, how many meal have the wolf had and how many stars there are baring witness to a carnage count as deep in thought. You are indeed very deep in thought.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, suggest both of you discuss the elephant in the room]
âIs he curious about that girl too?â Looking back during the fight between you and the specters. Most of the constellations are pretty disappointed when they couldnât see more of the girl. Actually itâs more like theyâre disappointed that they couldnât see what exactly is your trauma.
Should you tell your sponsor about that? If youâre thinking logically, no. You shouldnât. Heâs just your sponsor who will ensured your survival and he did not have any reason to know about your past.
That also apply to you too. You have no reason to know more about his past and you certainly have no right to ask.
âIf youâre wondering about the girlââ
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask why you always call him âyouâ]
ââIâm not going to talk about that.â You stop and read through the message, arching an eyebrow. You stare at the blue interface in confusion. Hopefully he saw your confusion from wherever he is right now.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, want you to call him with his modify name]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, donât want to make you uncomfortable talking about your trauma]
âTake note, busybodies.â Once again the words blurred out of your mouth.
[Some constellations who knows decency are taking note]
Still, calling him by his modify name all the time will make you twist your tongue one way or another. Beside, it could be pretty mouthful when you really need his help when heâs not around.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, think itâs better if you have his name]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said his name is Phainon]
âIs this alright?â You question out of concern.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said itâs alright]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you and him are going to be stuck together for a long time]
âI donât like the sound of it.â You retort but at the same time a laugh snort out of you as you plopped down. The exhaustion beginning to take over your mind, eyelids that once full of energy begin succumbing to sleep. âPhainon.â You tasted his name at the tip of your tongue as if tasting a new delicacy. âIâll try to remember your name.â You muttered as sleep cradle you in their arms.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said sweet dream]

Of course there is none laying around. Therefore, your only option is to talk to someone who possibly have some spared clothes. Fortunately for you, there was one. Sitting on one of the waiting bench was a woman, beside her is a black suitcase and a backpack.
You stride straight toward her, uncaring of sharp gazes piercing your skin as you stand before the woman. âExcuse me.â
The woman glance up to you, tilting her head as if telling you to continue.
Pointing to the suitcase next to her, you voice out the reason you approach her. âIâm sorry for being direct but do you have a spare clothe?â
She did not reply back, her gaze fall on your bag first. âIs that food?â She ask when her eyes caught sight of snacks.

After a good 8 hours of sleep, you stare blankly at the stationâs ceiling. The memory of yesterday event play like a movie in your head. When the memory of you negotiating the contract term with the constellation play in your head, you sit up and hide your face between your knees as you let regret pour in. âWhat stupid exchange was that?â
If possible, you would like to hang yourself right then and there but you settle with cursing yourself over and over again for the cringe way you spoke yesterday. âWhat was I thinking...?â
Now that your mind is clearer, you realized your decision yesterday was rush and thoughtless. Giving your life as an exchange is equivalent to giving up your damn freedom and decision-making to your employer.
However itâs not entirely thoughtless because you donât even know what type of creature those constellations are and you donât have any valuable item on you to offer in exchange for your safety in that short period of time.
âStillâitâs not worth it. Itâs just 30% increase on my survival. I can still die.â Frustrated, you grip onto your hair.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, greet you]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said good morning]
Staring at the message, you dare yourself to ask. You already make a fool of yourself, thereâs no need to feel ashamed now. âIs there a way to terminate the contract?â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, look at you in surprise]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if he made you angry]
âItâs just a question.â âNo, itâs not.â You want to truthfully said to him but restraint yourself in order to not push the wrong button and get your head explode. âJust curious.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, look at you]
âSave me the embarrassment and just tell me.â You thought. Just thinking about your head exploding for a silly mistake cause a chill to run down your spin. Itâs like waiting for your bossâ scolding when they call you over to their office.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, swear he did not watch when you were changing yesterday]
âOf course, youâre notâwhy would you brought that up? Were you thinking of taking a peek?â Unconsciously, your expression scrunch up in disgust now that you realized you absolutely had no privacy.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, claim he did not]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said he respect your privacy]
â...â Still your expression remind the same.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, let out a sigh]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, glare at Constellations who have indecent thought of his incarnation]
[The Constellations who have indecent thought of you look away]
âDid these beings jerk off watching naked woman too?â Your disgust level with these so-called Constellation rise at the thought.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if you regretted saying that you will give your life to him]
Bullseye.
You avert your gaze as if that could avoid your sponsorâs gaze when in reality you donât even know where he is. Steeling your heart, soul and ears bracing for the incoming ridicule but instead of ridicule as you expected, what come next is the opposite.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, reassured you he will ensured your survival]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said your life is entirely yours]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said you can rest assure]
âWhat if you lie.â You wanted to retort back but you bite your tongue and instead you murmur out a small âThank you.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, understand your predicament]
âAs ifââ You stopped yourself from blurring the words out loud.
Not wanting to duel at the spilled milk, you glance at your surrounding. The station is pretty packed and everyone is minding their own businessâas far as you could see.
âEveryone here is a murderer.â Said the woman who trade with you yesterday. âIâm no exception.â She added as she hand you a backpack.
Inside is a plain white clothe and black pant. Thereâs soap, toothbrush and toothpaste as well, judging from how itâs still inside itâs box, it must have been recently bought. Speaking of soapâ how many soap does she have in that suitcase?
âIâm Melissa.â The woman finally introduce herself. Seeing her foreign features, you assumed she might be a tourist who got stuck here.
You zipped the bag, putting it aside before giving a few packed of biscuit and a bottle of water to the tourist. âYouâre pretty fluent. Thatâs amazing.â You noted plus it remind you of someone.
Despite being a tourist who get stuck in this situation, sheâs pretty composed. Melissa let out a defeat chuckle, âIâve been wanting to come here since forever but when I visit, this happened.â
âUnfortunate.â You replied, sympathizing with her.
âIâm just here to warn you. Be careful. Not everyone want to trade.â Then she stood up and left.
Just after Melissa left. You glance over your shoulder, some survivors watch you with indifferent and some watch from a distance as if waiting for an opportunity. The more you observe them, you realized the survivors seem to be divided by group.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, agreed with incarnation Melissa]
âShould I just leave this place?â You muttered while your eyes is glue to your survival rate percentage, âIt dropâ oh wait.â You take a closer look at the interface. âWasnât yesterday it was 50%? How come it went to 60%?â
[Survival rate: 58%]
Minus the 2% that just drop a second ago. Your sponsor guess.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, guess that yesterday you must be tired]
Now that you think about it, the skill [Probability Calculation] count the stats but does that count the state youâre in as well?
[Your understanding of your personal skill has increase slightly]
âAh.â As if struck by epiphany, you nod to yourself.
There are three things that you realized with this calculation skill. One, if youâre in your best shape, your survival rate is 30%. Two, fatigue effect your survival rateâthis what happened yesterday. Three, it could be used as prediction but itâs still up to luck.
Sometimes the outcome is not within the skillâs prediction. Therefore, you should always had a back up plan when the percentage is not 100%.
***
The tunnel is dark. No matter how far you try to look at, it feels like youâre staring at the abyss itself.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if youâre sure you want to leave]
âIf I donât leave, I might be dead.â You glance at your survival rate that has drop to 50% in matter of an hour.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said the survivors must have feel less scare of you]
âIt does seems so.â You replied, remembering how none of the survivors wanted to made contact with you nor do they want to approach you when you first arrived. âI must have made a fool of myself.â You whispered at the memory.
Who would want to approach someone whoâs drenched in blood? They must have thought you killed a lot of people in the first scenario.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, said heâs on your side]
[100% chance this individual is showing you goodwill]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, is slightly offended by you]
âIt actually work on constellation too.â You cackle.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, ask if you doubt his goodwill]
âYeah, I did and still am.â The answer come out too quickly than your mind could stop it.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, sulk in the corner]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, mutter at least youâre honest]
âAre you leaving?â Melissa sat at the edge of the platform. âYou look eager to die.â She comment.
[50% chance this individual will sell you out to other survivors]
Seeing the screen, you put up your famous facadeâcustomer service smile. âIs everyone forming a group now?â Your hand reaching over the hammerâthe same hammer used to crush the skull of the bus passengersâin your bag, tracing over itâs texture. For some reason you could still see some of the blood, hair and peeled off human skin on it.
âThey are.â Melissa replied, âFood is scattered. So theyâre dividing people to two group. Group 1 will go up and find food and the second group stay behind.â
âYou?â
âIâm in the second group. Iâm not brave enough to find food up there.â Melissa shrugged. âWhat will you do now? Everyone thought youâre the strongest one in here so they will likely persuade you to join group 1.â
At her absurd statement, you form an âXâ with your arms and shake your head. âIâm not. Thatâs the most ridiculous claim I ever heard in my life.â
âThen the blood from yesterdayââ
You cut her off, âThatâs a misunderstood.â
Melissa nodded reluctantly, âThen how about your stats?â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames, warn you to be careful]
âI know.â You replied in your head. Your facade remain the same, your grip on the hammer loosen slightly. âIâll just get going.â You look past the woman, 5 or so paces away, you spot three men, acting as if theyâre minding their own business. When in reality theyâre eavesdropping on you. Thereâs not even the need to use your calculation skill to check with how obvious they are.
You gaze at Melissa.
[60% chance this individual will sell you out to other survivors]
[85% chance the survivors in this station are scheming against you]
[Survival rate: 43%]
âAlright thenââ Melissa stood up, turning away from you. She mindlessly throw a flashlight which you barely catch then waving her hand as if sending you off, âGoodbye.â
[Survival rate: 50%]
You watch as the blonde woman blend in with the rest of the survivors as the three men following suit.
[25% chance the incarnation Melissa will become the next target of other survivorsâ scheme]
Thinking about Phainon whoâs in love with a transmigrator but you have hidden motive.
The hidden motive is literally trying to return back to your original world.
To double the suffering, in your original world youâre just a normal civilian who get dragged into a novel with apocalypse setting and tower system that force you to defeat the tower. Youâre granted with the ability of regression everytime you die but then the system said itâs still not enough and send you to Amphoreus instead of your original world.
Then as if to screw you over again, the system want you start a romance story with a certain deliverer.
Unfortunately, you have zero ideaâlet alone experienceâ about that and failed in every regression. Did you die? Yes, you kill yourself because you canât bear looking at yourself doing all the cringe romantic gesture in the books. Then start again the next regression and try a different approach.
Finally you win his heart after millions of retry (regression). Then the system let you go back to your original world and you poof out of Phainonâs life.
The thing is, your regression and the reoccurrence cycle match one another. Therefore, Phainon, the Flame Reaver knew you and remembered your romantic attempts on him.
Imagine his surprise when in one particular cycle. He find Phainon just heartbroken because you leave him without any explanation. He was confused at first until he absorb this heartbroken Phainonâs memories and understand whatâs going on.
He try to think positively and try again next cycle. Only for you to not exist in any of those next cycles.
Plus points if in each cycle he saw you killing yourself just because he reject you.
Summary: Youâre a survivor within this madness call scenarios. A madness where youâre force to clear the various scenarios made to entertain the higher beings. Running and fighting against monsters and humans alike. The scenario twisted and tested your morality in the name of writing a grandiose story. However despite the madness wilting away your sanity and fueling your hatred toward it, a certain constellation had been there from the beginning. Watching over you, lending you a helping hand without asking much in return.

What a tiring day for you. Working in customer service area donât really give you a high salary and you could say it was underpay too, with how many ridiculous event you have to put up with in a single week. But can you complain it to your boss? No. You couldnât but you can at least gossip with your colleges who experienced the same thing.
Taking a bus home, you occupied a vacant single seat near the exit. It was so you could bolt out as soon as the bus stop at your destinationâof course, after you pay the driverâbeside it could save you from unwanted company.
Well that was the plan. Until an old lady keep glaring and clicking her tongue at you stand a little too close. Clearly giving you the cue to give up your seat for her. You meet a lot of people like her almost every month. So to avoid drama and going viral, you just give up your seat.
The old lady thank you with her benign smile which is a lie, you could tell she was smug over her little victory.
Not wanting to dwell on it, you took out your phone, scrolling through notifications that you couldn't check since morning. Deleting unimportant messages and checking messages send by your family or friends which is not a lot, not caring how the bus had abruptly stop and the passengers gasp in surprised. Since this is not the first time something like that happened, youâve long got used to it.
What you didnât get used to is the fact thereâs an unsettling static sound and robotic announcement coming from somewhere.
[The free service of the 8612th planetary system has come to an end]
[The main scenario will begin now]
At the announcement, the phone in your hand slip off your grasp though youâre quick to catch the falling device. You glance around, every passengers are looking at your direction or rather at the thing that appear in front of the busâs windshield.
A black fluff ball hover just a few pace away from the busâs glass window, itâs onyx eyes reflecting the sunâs light and two goat horn proudly sit atop itâs head.
âItâs cute.â You thought briefly.
The driver slam the horn on the steering wheel, sliding down the window and shout at the creature. âHey! I have tired passengers who need to return home here. If you want to pull up prank, donât do it in middle of the road! Itâs dangerous!â
The creatureâs lips curl into a crescent moon as it snap itâs fingers.
Splat!
The driverâs head explode, bringing out terrified gasp from the passengers. That include you as well as the blood splattered on your clothes and those whoâs on the front row.
[Uâunfortunately. Aâall of you will have to work harder then bâbefore.] The creature spoke, stuttering in some world as it fidget with itâs hand. As if it did not just explode someoneâs head with a flick of itâs tiny hand.
Ding!
Blue screen float in front of you.

<Main Scenario #1- Prove your value>
Category: Main
Difficulty: F
Clear Conditions: Kill one or more living organisms
Duration: 30 minutes
Reward: 300 coins
Penalty for failure: Death
++
The fluffy creature let out a static laughter as if to mock the panicking passengers. [Heheâ better hurry before your hâhead become like him.] The creature disappear as spark flew around it, leaving behind the panicking masses.
You push yourself to the far corner, distancing yourself from other passengers because just as you fear, some of them begin to strangle those near them.
Within seconds, the bus is filled with terrified screams as the passengers try to kill one another.
You who was standing closer to the exit try to escape however it was futile. There seems to be a wall blocking the exit.
âIâm sorry.â A voice breath behind you.
You were slammed onto the surface of the invisible wall. A tight grip tighten around your neck, cutting off your oxygen. âNo hard feeling.â The personâs voice tremble as he tighten his grip.
Driven by instinct, you stomp on his feet using both your left over strength and body weight. The man staggered away as he wring in pain. Not giving him a chance to catch his breath, you stomped onto his private part.
The man let out a screech but it did not stop the on going carnage at the passengers seat.
A puddle of blood beginning to soak the floor. Plead, maniacally laugh and anguish scream ringing in the packed space as you contemplate whether you should kill the man or not.
If you kill this man, youâll lose your morality but if you chose not to, youâll lose your head in exchange.
Just as you were about to decide, a pleading scream startled you off your thought. âNO! PLEASEââ The manâs loud pleading come to a halt. Then followed by the sound of bone cracking and multiple punches.
The bus fell eerily silent after a minute passed. You swizzle your head to see what had happened to the other passengers but what you could only see is a pile of lifeless body scattered everywhere. Even the old lady had her head smashed and a few metal nails hammered into her flesh. So are some of the dead passengers.
âWhat kind of sick bastard...â You turn your gaze on the person in front of you.
The person is still punching the man whoâs groin get stomped by you. Not wanting to meet the same fate, you run passed the person, rushing passed all the bloody mess but the person caught you and pin you to the bloody floor like a predator catching itâs prey.
The person seems to be an overworked office worker, judging from the dark bags under his eyes and disheveled attire. âI saved you.â He let out a frustrated sigh. âNot even a thank you?â
You try to kick him off but he had already locked you in place. Both of your hands pin above your head, his knees locking your lower body in place.
[10 minutes reminding]
The same blue screen appear once again. The man let out a snicker, âI just need 5 to 8 minutes anyway.â
Knowing the implication, you headbutt him. Crashing your forehead to his nose making an unsettling noise upon impact. Blood drip onto your foreheadâitâs not yoursâ the grip loosen and you pick the nearest object you could reach once your hands are free.
You pluck off the metal nail on the corpse beside you. With adrenaline as your driving force, you stab the manâs eye with it.
Red liquid dripping down the manâs face, nail stuck in his left eye, nose broken and bleeding.
You crawl away. The puddle of blood seeping into your uniform but you couldn't care less of it at the moment.
âYou fucking bitch!â The man cursed. He forcefully pulled out the nail, âIâll gauge your eyes!â
You heard the stomping footsteps behind you. Dreadfully you try to reach the end of the bus, although you already knew that there's only dead-end.
That is until another blue screen appear.
[A Constellation with sun tattoo on their neck point toward the floor]
You look down and saw a bloody screwdriver on the floor. Quickly you pick it up and turn around to the man whoâs sprinting toward you like an angry bull chasing a red flag.
As the man mere centimeter away, you pierce the screwdriver right into the manâs neck. Pushing and twisting it deeper until your hands bath in his blood and the way heâs speaking become a gibberish mess due to damaged vocal cord.
Seconds later and the man slump to the cold floor, joining the other passengers to paint the floor in red.
[You have cleared the scenario]
[You have obtained 300 coins as basic clear reward]
[100 coins have been deduced for channel usage fee]
Once the adrenaline has worn off, your legs gave out and you puke out the content of your stomach.
As if not wanting to gave you a moment of respite, the creature return. Now that you have a moment to look at it, the fluffy creature is too cute for you to call it a devil but itâs morality is questionable to call it an angel either. Does it have morality at all? With how easy it is for it to explode someoneâs head with a flick of itâs fingers. Maybe you could just called it dokkeabi for the time being.
[Câcongratulation on clearing the first scenario! Now you will be given the opportunity to choose a supporting constellation!] The dokkeabi flick itâs fingers and another blue screen appear again. Then it disappeared.
Left on your own, you decide to take a few minute to compose yourself and processed the whole situation youâre in.
Once you catch your breath, you stare at the screen for an entirety of five minute. Although it only consist of a few line of writing, you couldnât help but be cautious at a time like this with monster 20 feet tall roaming outside.
+++
[Sponsor Selection]
- Select a constellation.
- The selected constellation will be your reliable sponsor.
1. Prisoner of Flames
+++
The dokkeabi said itâs a contract but from your experience, contract should be made on mutual term though it was only a fantasy of yours because life never been fair. Glancing back, the dokkeabi is floating just a few pace away from you.
[Wâwhy are you just standing there?]
The dokkeabi float toward you. Knowing what the dokkeabi has done, it made you flinch and step back. The dokkeabi snicker at your trembling form but itâs kind enough to not scare you anymore. [Youâre very weak right now. Why not just pick one since there's some constellation who pity you?]
[Some constellation is urging you to quickly finish the selection process]
Truthfully speaking, you rather not make a hasty decision with something like contract. Who knows what will happened to you if you fall short to this supporting constellationâs expectation. Will they abandoned you? Or will they just obliterate you like how the dokkeabi did to the bus driver?
Pushing down the fear, you ask the black fluff. âI want to know, is this the only opportunity to choose a constellation as my sponsor?â
An amused giggle left the dokkeabiâs mouth, itâs eyes crescent in glee. [There are plenty of opportunity in the future but wouldnât it be wise to choose one now?] The black ball float around you, [Lâlook outside.] It pointed outside the window.
A 20 feet tall mantis walk pass the vehicle youâre in, leaving earthquake in itâs step. [You think you could survive that all on your own?] The dokkeabi mock you. [My sâsuggestion is pick a constellation to support you in the future scenario because you might never get another chance.]
In short, you might not get any support from any constellation next time thereâs a selection event. Or you might already be dead before the event even start but what if you get one later? A better one?
Beside, you should always be careful. What if the constellation you sign the contract with is a sadist? One that will work you like a dog? You should considered every possiblity because you donât have the clear picture of what is happening in the world right now.
Amidst your busy mind pondering over your decision, a blue interfere lit up in front of you. Surprising you and the dokkeabi.
[A new attribute has been acquired]
[New Personal Attribute: Overthinker(Common)]
[New personal skill has been acquired]
[New Personal Skill: Possibility Calculation]
âWhat is that attribute name?â You feels slightly offended but check your new skill. It look useful from itâs name.

[Probability Calculation]
Skillâs detail:
- Calculate the chances of possible outcomes and survival rate.
- The percentage increase by the situation, behavior, stats and/or interest of someone/something that favor the possible outcome.
+++
âSo itâs like a prediction.â You thought for a moment. âItâs still a gamble though.â Despite thinking so, you decide to try it out. Who knows if itâll help you in this situation.
[Using personal skill Probability Calculation]
+++
[Possible outcomes]
- negotiate contract term with Constellation Prisoner of Flame.
[The percentage of this outcome to happen is 50%]
[Current survival rate: 20%]
+++
You donât know what to say about the possible outcome. Especially after you realized you might never had a chance to survive in this world with such a low chance if you donât have supporting constellation.
If so, you could try to negotiate with the constellation since thereâs 50% it will listen. Putting aside your fear, you proposed. âHow about we negotiate?â
The dokkeabi tilt itâs head in confusion, [Nânegotiate?] A creepy smile bloom on itâs mouth, in a blink, the dokkeabi is mere inch away from your face. [Wâhy should I?]
Keeping a clear head and remind composed, you pull your usual customer service smile. âIâm not talking to you. Iâm talking to my potential sponsor.â
The creepy smile vanish from itâs lips as it laugh in mockery, [You? A mere human? Heheheâ]
[The constellation with sun tattoo on their neck reveal their nickname]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames is watching you with interest]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames is interest with your suggestion]
Quickly you speak, uncaring how the dokkeabi is quite baffled by the revelation unfolding before it. âIf I sign a contract with you, I request that you will ensure my survival.â
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames is pondering]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames ask what can you offer in return]
âMy life.â You confidently offered.
[Some constellation are laughing at your bold behavior]
[Some constellations are interested with you]
Youâre more focus on the percentage meter on your screen rather then the constant messages floating around you. They can laugh and mock you all they want but your survival come first.
+++
[Probability calculation]
- persuade Constellation Prisoner of Flame to agree with your contract term.
[Current persuasion progress is 100%]
+++
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames is amused]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames agree with your term]
You pick Prisoner of Flames as your supporting constellation. Hopefully you did not make the worse decision in your life with this choice.
[You have successfully form a contract with a constellation]
The dokkeabi watch from the sideline, coughing into itâs hand to take your attention and the constellations. [Wâweâre done with the sâselection! Letâs mâmove on with the next scenario!] With a flick of itâs finger another blue screen appear.

The dokkeabi smile, bowing itâs head. [May the blessing of the story be with you.] The barrier around the bus had disappear along with the dokkeabi.
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames said you must never offer your life to anyone]
[The Constellation, Prisoner of Flames said you must cherish your life]
âThatâs kind of sweet.â You thought but you did say you give him your life however it does not mean you wanted him to control your life decision. âYou better donât make me regret my life choice, prisoner something.â

Thoughts on self aware!Phainon figuring out a way to get out of the game, but instead of immediately revealing it, he just does so when he knows youâre asleep; taking the opportunity to simply get a glimpse of you. It turns into a nasty habit. A guilty pleasure? I mean, from an outside perspective, he comes off as a creep for watching someoneâwhoâs unaware of itâin their sleep.
Thatâs an amazing thought, anon. Just imagine Phainon staring into your soul with his eyes that could light up in the dark. Then imagine getting sleep paralyzed(is that what itâs called?) and the first thing you see is him at the edge of your bed, all tall and mighty and two pair of glowing eyes staring at you.
Thinking about Phainon pinning over someone whoâs a romantic and amazing matchmaker but at the same time do not believe in love when it come to themselves.
How Phainon fell in love with you is a mystery and you do not welcome it with open arm. Donât take it wrong. You did nothing wrong, youâre just being logical and cautious over here.
Think about it. The person pinning over you here is Phainon. The deliverer. The famous easy-going Chrysos Heir who will play along with the children around Okhema. One of the top bachelor of all time. Every womanâs dream man. Every mother-in-lawâs dream son-in-law.
And then thereâs you, the plain old you. The object of his pinning.
Compare to him, youâre just a forgettable npc. An npc who even the player donât want to interact with because when you talk about romance, youâre talking like a true believer of Mnestia. You could put Mnestiaâs true followers to shame. Though the downside is, you donât actually find it possible if someone were to ever fell for you.
For someone like Phainon to pinning over you is illogicalâimpossible even.
Then there is Phainon wondering if he scared you with his pinning. His pinning is quiet but it certainly noticeable even the blind could see it.
Like gaze lingering too long for someone whoâs just an acquaintance of his. Staring absently at his hand where your touch still linger when he thought no one is looking. Prolonging a small talk that should have ended hour ago.
Everyone could see it including you. However, you choose not to acknowledge the subject of his affection that is you.
You thought it wouldnât take long before he lose feeling but you underestimate the deliverer because heâs made of resilience and perseverance.
The more you try to push him away, the more he yearn for you.
Would he try his luck and give it a shot to confess? Heaven forbid he ever push his luck. Even the sliver bit of your gaze meeting his will satisfy him for the rest of the month.
He yearn but never express his love directly to you. Let alone giving any chance of confessing.
You could put him in the trial and attempted to get rid of him. Not literally or else youâll be executed for murdering a Chrysos Heir but you do want to get rid of his yearning for you.
His quiet longing is nice but you certainly donât want to spark jealousy from others. Youâre logical enough to avoid those who deem you as their rival for becoming the subject of Phainonâs pinning but itâs not your fault he fell for you.
Therefore you told others to never question anything if they saw you walking side by side with Phainon in the street. Your hand in his while he happily talk about his venture out of Okhema with his lips quirk up to his earsâif that even possible.
If they saw such scene happening, they should already know that Phainon survive your 10 thousand attempts of getting rid of him. Then it end with you giving in to his pinning.
