What's with the negative rep with LSP? I directly applied there and got in but after reading about it in forums, it seems that the program is looked down upon by others?

Sure. I mean, it depends on what you want to study but NYU, in general, is a decent school, hence Steinhardt is decent.

I got into NYU which has been my dream for the longest time, but I was accepted to the liberal studies core program. Is there a strong stigma against this program? Also I want to do journalism which requires a double major - would I be able to do this in the two years after lsp? Thanks!
the only ppl who have a strong stigma against lsp are the same people who deserve to be kicked repeatedly in the nutsack/other genitals. like really, these are the people who desperately cling to being "better" than lsp people because otherwise, they'd have nothing.
and yeah, it's totally doable! in your first two semesters of lsp (your freshman year), you'll have to take three lsp classes and then can take one non-lsp class per semester, meaning there's room for 2 major-specific classes. and then as a sophomore, you only have to take 1 lsp class per semester, meaning the rest can be major-specific.

I just got accepted to NYU for the class of 2018! I was wondering if students hang out/ study at Washington square a lot? Like how much is it actually like a quad or the center of campus?
Students living closer to campus tend to spend more time there than do the students living in the dorms near Union Square (Founders, U Hall, Third North, etc). But it really isn't the "center of campus," because we don't have a "campus."
Any way you'd be able to tell me if NYU has a good biology or comp sci program compared to other undergraduate schools?
