After four wonderful years of college, it’s finally time to say goodbye. You start to really savor every Lipton cookie and you even start to get teary-eyed when using NYUClasses. It’s okay to cry, we’re here for you.

1. Registering for your last semester and simultaneously wanting to take every class and no classes at all.

You want to make the most of your last semester, but you’re also completely over having hours and hours of homework every night.

2. Trying to find time to enjoy your last year as a college student while also working a job, an internship or two, and keeping up with your course-load.

Free time? I don’t know her.

3. Toying with the thought of grad school just so you don’t have to give up your student discounts.

TBH, you’ll pay grad-school tuition just to keep paying student prices for Spotify Premium.

4. Missing how close to campus your freshman res hall was.

Remember when you only had a five-minute commute to campus? No more running home for a quick nap between classes :(

5. Seeing a friend you made during your freshman year Welcome Week on the street and not knowing what to do.

What’s their name again? Did you two make out at that party? Should you wave, or just smile? This is what nightmares are made of.

6. Reconsidering your major and your entire life plan during a particularly stressful all-nighter.

Is it too late to transfer to Tisch and study modern dance instead?

7. Seeing high schoolers touring the campus and getting ~emotional~

You sometimes stop and listen to the tour guide just to try to remember what it felt like to be so young, because by now you feel decades older than your high school self.

8. Getting dressed for a job interview and realizing you shouldn’t have thrown out that ironing board your mom got you freshman year.

What can we say–mom knows best  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

9. Your favorite study spots on campus now double as crying spots.

If you haven’t cried in Bobst during finals, did you really go to NYU?

10. The staff at coffee shops around campus now know your order when you walk in the door.

And you know you’ll come back after you graduate just to say hi to your favorite barista. After all, nobody makes your latte the way Karen does….

11. Being old enough to legally drink, but having zero time (or money) to go out.

Nothing hurts like having to say no to bottomless mimosas at brunch because you have an essay (or three) to write later. Luckily, there’s still Palladium Brunch!

12. Anxiously scavenging tickets so all your relatives can come to your graduation.

At this point, you’ll honestly trade an organ to get your grandma a ticket.

13. Knowing that no matter where you are after you graduate, you’ll always be a violet at heart

As spring semester approaches, it is nearly time to bid our goodbyes. Here are some of the most memorable moments of NYU2018′s time here. Let’s take a walk down memory lane!

1. The birth of the beloved Sidestein Market.

Without Sidestein, you would have probably been forced to sit down and eat at the dining hall more times than you wanted to. Luckily, the beloved convenience store opened on September 9, 2014 — just in time for the incoming Class of 2018 freshmen! 

(Half of the dreaded “freshman 15″ came from those delicious milkshakes.)

2. Going to class with Dylan and Cole Sprouse.

Remember running into them around campus all the time? Or the secondhand embarrassment when your friend went in to ask for a picture?

Dylan and Cole graduated with honors from NYU in 2015.

3. The renovation of Hayden Hall (now Lipton Hall).

The popular freshman residence wasn’t available during the 2014-2015 school year, which was a big bummer because it looked so good when we scoped it out on NYU Cribs!

4. Living in Palladium as a freshman.

But because the then-Hayden Hall was under renovation, NYU announced that it would open up spaces in Palladium to first-year students for the first time ever. About 370 freshmen were given the rare opportunity to enjoy having a gym as well as Palladium brunch.

5. Eating brunch at the Torch Club’s Tap Room (with meal swipes).

Another perk of Hayden Hall being closed was being able to use your meal swipes to eat at the lower level of the Torch Club! It was never too crowded because not a lot of people knew about it. The famous “Hayden cookies” were there too.

6. That first Tuesday of spring semester when NYU closed because of snow.

School had opened for only *one* day before NYU announced that it would be closed the following day on January 27, 2015, due to weather conditions. NYU also closed early on the very first day. 

Snow days are definitely rare at NYU. Nothing like having your winter vacation extended!

7. The original NYU Secrets shutting down.

For a while, we didn’t know who was behind the popular NYU Secrets page on Facebook. Then, in Feburary 2015, NYU Secrets came to an end at secret number 9000.

Since December 2016, however, the original page is back up and running!

9. Reading daily issues of Washington Square News.

Ah, the good old days of print journalism.

NYU’s student-run newspaper, Washington Square News, used to publish daily issues (from Monday-Thursday). However, since the Fall of 2015, the newspaper now prints weekly themed issues (while other contents go online).

10. New NYU President appointed.

In March 2015, former Univesity of Oxford Vice Chancellor Andrew Hamilton was appointed the 16th president of NYU.

We do miss those famous John Sexton hugs though!

11. And finally, that excitement when you found out that you were going to NYU.
