(i may add that i only know basic, popular known medical stuff and i had already fictional viruses and pandemics in mind while writing this au)
virus with a yet unknown source that started to rapidly gain mortal victims. it has been said that deaths started after the entire world was infected
named this way in how weird it evolved and presented
as far as scientific research knew at that time: the virus first appears as a emotional change, usually as a deep sadness and lack of motivation, which slows down the person. the less the person is active, the faster the virus developed and made the brain fail, soon after, the body starts to shut down and ends in the death of the patient.
after the pandemic started, other patients that were mistakenly taken as infected with other similar diseases, were found that it was actually another way the abstract virus acted, this was in a highly aggressive manner. it started in the same way, but instead of rapidly killing the person, it made them aggresive to other individuals when in light. these changes were shown that it was also a brain damage, and soon, the body failed and ended up in the death of the person.
the virus has a long-ish incubation time and it's when is the most contagious, so the that's why the spread was unknown until too late. after symptoms start, the virus becomes less to no contagious following the time until death.
