The Cloud Roll

he stuck his tongue out, “buth ith hurthed...” Tears welled up in his eyes

"What are you doing?" Hibari questioned, his eyes already beginning to drift closed. "It would be cruel to make you sleep on the floor, you can sleep up here as long as you don’t wake me."

“R-really?” He looked back at Hibari very surprised. He got up from the floor and carefully laid down next to the other. “Roll would be very careful not to wake Master.” He whispered quietly.

Grey eyes moved from the open box he’d been studying to Roll. “You may be human temporarily. But you are still my box animal.” That was as close to a yes Hibari would give him.

Hearing that made him somewhat relieved. But what if this wasn’t temporary? What if he was stuck this way forever? “Sorry Master...I’m sure you want to nap now...” the teen slid down from the bed onto the floor and crossed his legs getting comfortable.

"Inside or out of the box we are connected by a similar flame." Hibari took the box from the other’s hand, he planned to keep it for now. Perhaps studying it would help. If Roll was the only box animal to turn human it may hold some clue as to why.

Roll sat down on the edge of the bed. “Master....Does master still like Roll?” He knew the way Hibari acted around other people... It was different from animals. And Roll wasn’t in animal form anymore. He was in human form now...

"It is," he stated before getting into the bed, lying atop his covers since it was already quite warm. "I’ve been meaning to ask… what happened to the box you were contain inside of as a hedgehog?"

“Oh right...” Roll reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out the said box. Though the top part where the ring goes however was open so you could see inside. And obviously it was empty. “Sometimes I wish I could go back... But then I wouldn’t be able to talk to master...” His smile saddened. 

He got excited but forced himself to calm down before getting loud and followed after the prefect.

Yawning once more he headed for his bed, which normally wasn’t used during the day. Hibari had a tendency to nap on roof-tops and grassy areas during the light hours.

And Roll carefully followed after his master like a loyal puppy, or rather hedgehog. “Is this where master is gonna nap today?”

“Ah- I’m sorry I forgot.” Now what did master tell him to do again?... “My name is Roll. Nice to meet you.” He said bowing a bit then blinked up at the stranger. “Who are you?”
