The Google Doc should still be around somewhere I guess? But it was kind of suboptimal for chatting imo, so discord would be sweet. If we have like… more than three members per timezone who could be online at once :D

i know we all complain about the zamonia fandom being small and basically a speck of dust compared to more popular stuff like star wars and superhero comics but honestly, if the books had a huge fandom we’d have at least one small portion that ships rala/general ticktock so i’m glad it only consists of aprox. 30 people

I’m still waiting for the huge and crazy Zamonia fandom with cosplayers, meetings, multichapter fanfiction, fanart, DeviantArt groups, slash, more or less well made OCs, a giant Wolperting section in FurAffinity, Ask Smyke -blogs, Ask Colophonius Regenschein -blogs, debates why the books are better than the movies, Tumblr gifsets, fan-made animations, posts starting with “Can we just appreciate-“, meme pics, a high amount of Gornab the 99th/Friftar NSFW, DeviantArt stamps, high school AUs, crazy fangirls and a Kink Meme. I see it sometimes in the sweetest of my dreams.

i had the most bizarre yet hilarious dream ever where there existed an actual netherworldian dating sim where you were a nobleperson from klein-hel who goes to serve at gornab’s court and i ended up dating this noblewoman named jezrin whose family used to have a feud against the royal family so all except her who pledged her allegiance to the crown were killed and during one date where we took a walk around the theater she told me that those were her family’s heads and when she asked me if i would want to rule overworld with her after killing the king and taking over his army and invading zamonia with it because that’s basically what her idea of a proposal was, i woke up

Narration in Rumo is objective so yeah, it’s canon. It’s actually a fair bet it’s the “most canon” novel since Bluebear is a subjective account of the events and everything else is fiction or memoirs in-universe. I think this specific case is just a result of the books being written at different periods in time, it’s pretty clear Moers only started to develop a clear idea for the setting when he was writing City and Rumo. Notice how Volozotan also slightly differs between the books - I’d assume the easier way to explain this would be assuming that Bluebear, being a bit untrustworthy as narrator, makes certain people he encountered seem more or less pleasant (from his standpoint) than they really were with details like this.

I personally dont consider bluebear canon. To me the whole book is just a collection of (more or less trustworthy) information about zamonia. Not only bc bluebear is impossibly talented at everything (despite digging a hole in the desert) and his luck lvl is over 9000 but also bc it we never get to find out when everything happens. Also there’s neither anagrom ataf nor the vanishing bollog-head nor the molloch mentioned in the other books. The only thing that are picked up are obviously rumo for his own book and the waldspinnenhexe for ensel & krete
