At the end of the month, you can pre-order the book “Christmas at Lindworm Castle”, which will be then released at the end of November. It’s a translation of a letter Hildegunst has written to Hachmed Ben Kibitzer where he tells about “Hamoulimepp“, a celebration with an uncanny similarity to our Christmas.

So, lovely Zamonia fandom, I don’t know how up-to-date you are, but the Walter-Moers-page on facebook has been quite active lately. Let me summarize this for you.

There are going to be readings of Princess Insomnia and the nightmarish-coloured Chimaera and book parties in several German book shops in the upcoming months:

It's described as a "fairytale from the late Zamonian Romanticism" (zamonische Spätromantik) so not that real probably

#nothing about Mythenmetz but I would assume it's another translation #does anyone know which periods Mythenmetz was active in?

I know captain Bluebear doesn’t want to share rest of his lives with us, but wouldn’t it be cool if we could get a glimpse of what he is doing in some of those lives from some other Zamonia -story? Maybe he is the older dude that our young hero meets somewhere and learns a lot from. Or maybe he is mentioned in a book the hero sees or a tale that they hear or something.

I’ve always imagined what those other lives would be like.

Perhaps he and Avriel leave forest and spend couple of lives travelling around Zamonia. Maybe he adds information to Nightingale’s encyclopaedia when he learns something new in his journey. Propably they get in trouble and reunite with Mac.

Maybe Avriel gets sick and they return to forest where he takes care of her till the end. And after she dies, he spends a life mourning alone. Propably he can’t bear to stay in their home longer, so he leaves the forest to visit some old friends from his earlier travels.

And in his old days he writes down all his stories. And then, in the 27th life, he sets out to sea for one last adventure.

We can probably guess some stuff that happened during the rest of his lives from the TV series? Like, he must have had kids, because his grandchildren live with him (I don’t know if we ever find out what happened to their parents or whether they are just staying over at their grandfathers house a lot). The ship they live on is called “Elvira”, maybe that’s their mothers name or Bluebear didn’t want to name the ship after Avriel and chose an anagram. Also at some point he must have met Hein Blöd (I’m really sad that he didn’t get mentioned in 13 1/2 lives).

Also, don’t know why, but I kind of like to imagine, that Bluebear and Mythenmetz met at some point? We know that later in his live Bluebear is a notorious liar, which might be due to his career as a congladiator (where he was so famous that even Mythenmetz himself must have heard about him and even was influenced by his invention narrative style). But writing down his biography doesn’t seem like a very congladiator thing?

And some of his live must have taken part during the time where Zamonia sank, which probably were very dark times. Maybe thats why he wrote down his biography, so that his grandchildren could learn about the history of Zamonia and the chromobears? I would really like to know what happened to the inhabitants of the sunken continents. Bluebear seems to live in hiding (lonely ship at the end of a cliff) so maybe some of his old Zamonian friends are still alive as well (well, those who didn’t fly of to space with atlantis). Maybe he is going to sail around the world to meet them one last time?
