I unfortunately ran into my evil ex in public. I have no take aways from the experience, yet, I will share this with you now anyways. The look he gave me, I’ve been obsessing over it. The way his eyes pierced my soul, he looked at me as though I were nothing but a deflated balloon at the end of the party; A fish he’d just finished gutting at the end of a long day on the lake. The look. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I was truly being seen by someone. He examined me, without ever breaking eye contact. He looked through me, trying to put the pieces of my story together, without sharing a word. It was horrible. It echos in ever crevasse of my little brain folds. My god that man is evil. In a Stockholm syndrome way tho, I missed that.
