Rex Boggs

Brock`s attempt to cheer Rex up seems to have worked; after he`s changed back to his usual shades of orange the toddler`s face is covered in a proud smile.

“Unca Wandall can! Is so good! Am gonna be like that too..!”

He giggles;

“Am the best at hide and sneak in dayscawe, no one find me..!”

He looks back up at Brock, and points to his beak;

"I can't fly eithew..!"

He flaps his four arms up and down a couple of times while standing on his toes, but nothing happens;

"See..?"

A heavy, dramatic sigh escapes his lips as his arms drops back down along his sides, and the long tail is lowered a little. Then he suddenly thinks of something, and once again his face cracks up in a smile;

"But can do this!"

Rex nods as he gives a wide grin;

“But you`we not!”

He`s proud of himself for finally being able to catch something this similar to a bird without scaring it away. Besides, this huge guy is much cooler than the tiny, fluffy feather-balls he usually chases in the park. This is one of the most impressive monsters he`s ever met.

“You`we vewy soft…” He repeats, lost in his own thoughts;

“…and you`we not scawed…like the othew biwds…” He suddenly seems to think of something, and his face lights up;

Rex gives an impressed smile as he strokes the soft feathers on the back of the larger monster`s left hand;

“You`we vewy soft..!”

The young monster has always wondered what it`s like to touch the birds he usually feeds in the park when he goes there with his mum or his uncle; they all look so soft, but whenever he tries to catch one and stroke it they fly away from him. Mum says it`s because they`re scared.

He bets that touching the birds in the park feels like touching this big, unknown monster`s feathers. And it feels nice.
