Like, there’s a reason we all saw what we saw, and a reason it played out in front of us like it did.

There’s also a reason they can’t seem to firmly shut the door verbally, and that reason is not PR or the bag or whatever, because be so fucking for real — that bag was fumbled, that ship sailed, that ball dropped with papgate. They had the most to gain and the most to lose at that one point in time and it happened. The 90 days are up. They’re not the S4 focus, yadda yadda. There’s really no earthly professional reason not to shut down rumors.

So, yeah. Divine timing is totally a thing, and if what we saw between them hasn’t become tangible yet, it’s probably because it’s not supposed to yet.

She says it quite plainly when she talks about Googling herself. This was her year, and the not one of the top 3 searches talked about her career or her projects.

Nic is extremely passionate about her craft and about women being given the space and respect to pursue that craft for what it is — to be able to do their jobs. She’s talked at length about women (whether as actors or characters) always being required to be softer, more palatable. It’s the same message. She should be able to do her job without everything she worked for being entirely overshadowed by some aspect of her personal life.

And yes, while that’s not always realistic because part of what an audience buys into is the person behind the characters, to deliver punchy and important messaging, you can’t caveat everything.
