           She heard of this young inventor, one who wanted nothing more than to step in Lex’s foot steps. When he came to her, a Luthor with plots that where nearly as insane as Lex’s she shot them down. With the shaking of the ground and disaster afoot she had no time to simple flee the L-Corp building like she ha told many to do. No she had to figure out a way to reverse the device. After all she couldn’t help but feel this was some how her fault.

Hearing the call she turned her head from where she stood.

Conner, her nephew. From  a rather odd situation yet none the less her Nephew. Here doing hero work she could only suspect, why must the two loves of her life risk their life to do those things she still couldn’t understand. Knowing well enough Kara wouldn’t allow him to be in harms way she was rather glad he was here than out there.

❝ Conner. what on earth are you doing here?! ❞ Lena almost snapped but kept herself from doing so as her eyes turned back to the several tablets that lay across her table. Her fingers moving quicker than she could speak.

“I could ask you the same question, but I’m clearly not surprised since I’m here,” Conner said, approaching her. He looked out the windows of her office, getting a good look of the city. He was pretty sure he saw Supergirl zoom by in the distance. His gaze returned to Lena. He was supposed to be somewhere else, but he was pretty sure Kara would forgive him for making this particular pit stop.

He looked over her tablets. She was clearly working diligently on something. On several occasions, Lena had talked to Conner about him endangering his life with this hero business. He always said it was what he was made for. What was her excuse? He couldn’t help the small smile that came over his face.

she didn’t say anything.    she didn’t look at him.   eyes tracked on the ground,  watching the blades of grass dance in the soft breeze.   what she wanted to say,  i wasn’t snooping.   but she had no  EVIDENCE  to prove that she  wasn’t  either.   an honest mistake.   she told herself   NOT TO   so many times.    but she thought too hard against it that it ended up happening anyways.   she kept quiet,   out of guilt and knowing that he would not believe her anyways.   maybe i should just go  …    

Conner’s expression softened. When he’d first met M’gann, he hadn’t hesitated to rip her a new one when she invaded his mind telepathically. It was a trigger for him. It reminded him too much of CADMUS, too much of being trapped in a tube. But now? Now, they were much closer and Conner hated to see her sad. He didn’t want to see her hurt, physically or emotionally. Worse, he didn’t want to be the cause of it.

The city was in trouble and his team was on it in order to help Supergirl. Each member had their own job to do. Superboy was typically the heavy hitter. Big monster? Conner will punch it until it stays down. But today is not a monster. Today, the enemy is a device set off by a wannabe Lex Luthor.

Except he was doing a pretty damn good job.

Conner had one thing he absolutely needed to do, though. He landed in front L Corp and rushed inside. Where would he find Lena Luthor? Probably somewhere trying to reverse the problem. Still, even with that in mind, he went straight to her office, hoping to find her there.

“M’gann, you can’t just go snooping around people’s minds. It’s not right,” he chastised. He wasn’t sure how many times they could have this conversation. No, scratch that. It wasn’t a conversation. It was an argument and she never seemed to quite understand his point of view.
