* HEARTBREAKER !

“You don’t behave, Silas. It’s not on your nature. You do what suits you, and that’s hardly behaving.” Raising an eyebrow, the Bennett waited to hear what he wanted, but of course, Silas never got to the point. He was all about theatrics, which explained Stefan’s martyr moment back in 2018. “Current…. something back from the dead, but thats now what you’re here about.”

🏺 ― “I don’t behave,” he parroted her, a monotone but light twist to his tone. “Consider this.. me being idle.” He didn’t seem all to bothered with admitting that she saw right through him. If anything, he seemed amused; nearly beaming as if she had showered praise. “You’re right ― I don’t care. I want to hear what you have on the Necromancer.” 

Clearly the man in front of her was in fact not Stefan. Even ripper Stefan would have remembered Rebekah. In her mind, she was hard to forget. “Let me guess, Stefan has a doppelganger too…” she spoke surprised at the never ending list of them she encountered. “Surely there is a reason your still here. I never really cared for this town much. I only came back to visit, my brother’s often need their own babysitter.”

“Somehow, I doubt that.” Propping herself up on her porch, the witch shrugged. “Depends on who you ask, but alive.”

🏺 ― “Do you?  I can’t imagine why.” He was bidding his time. Silas was good at that. Besides, he had plenty of modern distractions to pass time this go around. “Melodramatic much?  For someone who likes to pretend she has it all under control, you sure are playing it fast and loose. What’s happened now ― an ex-boyfriend back from the dead?  You have those, right?”  He looked thoughtful. “Or would it be an ex-girlfriend. Your modern binaries make little sense to me.”

Enjoying the afternoon sitting on the porch of her grandmothers old house, her mood was only slightly spoiled when she saw a common doppelganger face approaching. “I see you’re still not dead yet. Honestly, I’m shocked.”

🏺 ― “I’ve been on my best behavior,” he told her, as if she should’ve been privy to the information. “How aren’t you?”

Rebekah turned around, the man in front of her clearly looked like Stefan but there was something off about his presence. “Have we met before?” she asked not remembering a third Salvatore brother, the uncanny resemblance to her ex did not make for a pleasant moment. “I suppose it has a certain charm to it, although some memories aren’t as pleasant.”

“How quaint, seems like this town hasn’t changed in over a hundred years.” she spoke staring at the large clocktower. Rebekah never imagined coming back to the town of Mystic Falls, however, she had hopes to finally get the cure for herself. No matter the consequences that may follow. @forsakenstarter​

“This is hell, yes. Literal hell.”

a scoff and laugh left kols lips simultaneously, looking the other over. “well, you must not be stefan seeing as he was more or less a servant to my entire family at one point. which doppelganger does that make you?” he asked, feeling a bit of nervousness in his gut, he sure hoped it was the youngest model of the salvatore doppelgangers and not the one he warned them all about. but no one ever listened to him and kol knew he was always right.

🏺 ― “god no,” he pressed, simultaneously denying stefan’s identity and his shit taste in occupation. not that silas knew the full extent of this man’s depravity. they had just met, after all. “met many of us, have you?” he asked, genuinely curious. “does it narrow it down to say i’ve never seen you before in my life?” 

amara had just gotten herself a phone, still not knowing why she needed it. she also had NO idea how to use it, as well. this new-era technology was so confusing to the original petrova proginator. amara took a deep breath as it started ringing again. “please, stop! stop making this noise!” she kept saying quietly to the phone, before she just put it inside her purse and decided to not pay any attention to it. that’s when she noticed stefan salvatore from across the street. she had seen him around town before and he was that one thing that reminded her of HIM. of silas. of the reason she was in mystic falls to begin with. “stefan!” amara exclaimed, as she walked closer to him, the phone in her bag no longer ringing. “how have you been? i haven’t seen you in days…”

🏺 ― “elena.” it was a simple greeting. warm, sweet. he didn’t have to miss a beat, because there was no other way to answer voice. no other way to respond to that name than with the youngest doppelgänger’s. who else would be skipping over so casually to the infamous ripper than his stockholmic ex-girlfriend?  but silas, he turned to watch the young woman approach and his face stilled. he’d gotten it all wrong. so very very wrong. “amara,” he corrected.

“well rack it up then, the game isn’t going to play itself is it?”

🏺 ― “i suppose not,” the ancient witch mused. “that’s what servants were for.” not only in the racking, or setting up, of the games of course.. but the gameplay itself. a spectacle for the powerful and untalented. “what role does this serve for something like you?”

“No, no middle name, whats yours, your full name not your middle name.” her nostrils flared in frustration. “Any version of Stefan is a cheap knock off, you may be the original but the remix is better.” She didnt know of course if he was the original version but she had a guess.

🏺 ― “Remix. I like that!  And I’m sure he’s doing wonders for his niche little fanbase.” He wasn’t intentionally ignoring her request, he merely took it upon himself to respond out of order. “Silas, yes. Just Silas. Back where I’m from, the legends made the man ― and I have plenty.”

“Is what the new fad? Having to get over bitterness?” Maybe it was a fad for other people, for the Bennett witch, it was practically the only way she could survive. If she focused on all the times she’d been betrayed, ignored, left behind, she’d drown in it, so the only way to keep her head above water so to try to move on, and try to forget. “Not really, because at first I thought you were Stefan, and I don’t really think you’re much better.”

🏺 ― “Can’t say I’ve heard anything like it before. Mind elaborating further?” Oh, remaining bitter was his game, wasn’t it?  Holding out for that sweet victory. Just because things didn’t go according to his original plan didn’t mean he was any less cocky about it. “Oof. Such disdain, Miss Bennett. What has my sad excuse for a doppelgänger done this time?” 

“My… my wallet?” Ashton asked confused. “Listen man if you’re trying to rob me you’re not doing that good of a job.”

🏺 ― “I am being polite, and non-threatening. I believe that kind of effort should be rewarded.” He held his hand out. “Just the money will be fine. I don’t intend on committing identity theft... I’m through with all that.”  

“It’s twenty-twenty-nine, Silas, don’t you think you should build a bridge and get over it?” The witch rolled her eyes at the psychic, not sure if it was any more comforting it was him verses his doppelganger that was approaching her. “Don’t you have someone else to annoy? Literally anyone else?”

🏺 ― “Is that the new fad?” A mocking response, as light and smooth as his approach. “I may... But aren’t you even a little flattered you’re the first?  Or, at the very least, proud to be one of the survivors?” The truth of the matter was a lot of his past flames were dead. That he was aware of. 

Lexi rolled her eyes, obviously not stefan. “Its Lexi Branson.” Her eyes darkened. “And what cheap knockoff version of Stefan are you?”
