💥 ― “I like the lavender and yellow,” he said simply. “But something tells me you’re leaning towards the maroon.” MG had entered the room, flashing one of his smug grins. “Room makeover?” 

a small smile pulled on her lips at his answer before turning her head to face him. “i’m actually torn between lavender and maroon, i love my signature lavender but i’m also wondering if my room needs a change to match the do.” she mused, referring to her hair. “yeah since jo left i think want to make the space entirely my own.. maybe you could help me paint?”

“Hey, I didn’t grow up with your mom and live with her and not pick up on some of this stuff,” she said with a smile, leaning against the door jam and sighing at the girl’s question. “Well, some of your classmates are testing my patience. But I think I’ve managed to scare the shit out of the ones who want to cause trouble for me. Otherwise, not to bad. Heard any rumors about me yet? Do they hate me or adore me?”

a laugh left lizzies lips at bonnies words, she never had a doubt her aunt would be a great person for the job. she was hands down one of the best witches their time has ever seen. “they’re annoying and testy, always power hungry too.” her eyes rolled. “i’ve only recently began to rise above so you’re already doing better than me. but no none of them have said anything bad that i’ve heard - then again they would likely be too scared that i’d go bitchy lizzie on them.” 

“Oh come on winter isn’t so bad. I mean there’s hot chocolate… ice skating… yeah it kind of sucks.” He agreed.

"those are the few good moments, though I can never manage to keep upright with skating. are you good at skating?” she asked curiously, smiling at the waitress who put down two menus.

Leena nodded. “Though I do like the snow in the trees. It’s very pretty.”

"oh absolutely, i can agree that the aesthetic is unmatched. i just hate having to brave the snow.” she said, wrinkling her nose.

“Because we are enjoying it and I find things that make us happy always end quickly,” Bonnie said with a cynical shrug. After all these years, life had easily beaten the optimism out of the witch. 

"I mean I guess that’s a way to look at it, very dreary but accurate.” she mused and shrugged her shoulders. “but i guess so was my outlook with complaining.” the witch said.

“Witches and these woods tend to go together,” Bonnie explained, not wanting to reveal her private reasons for heading to the woods to do some magic herself. “Many spells have been cast out here. Perhaps it draws all of us to it because of that…”

“that is very true.” she did always feel most connected to the earth, the way the greenery and everything about nature made her feel at home. “this town is practically a beacon to witches it seems, i’ve only been here for a little over a year and i can feel that.” 

🔥 ― “really?” he wasn’t going to let the comment slide, not when it was that sloppy of an excuse. “in mystic falls?” that being said, he had one of those faces that made the people around him think he was gullible. out of the loop. whatever she was trying to get away with, well, technically he couldn’t stop her. would he even try?  “fruitful night?  or was it more routine?”

addies shoulders lifted to a shrug. “i take nightly strolls out here often and never see others, maybe it’s just a timing thing.” which was partially true, but she didn’t need to reveal the semantics of all of that. “i’d say a bit of both, i enjoyed myself and got some insight and clarity. what about you? are you a regular for walks into the woods?”

Klaus laughed softly. “I was going for a run.”

"it seems great minds think alike then, huh? i find the night to be a lot more relaxing. whoever said early bird gets the worm never met the night owl.” 

“Sometimes it’s a good quiet place to clear your mind.” Joey commented, emerging from the shadows where he had been standing. “Didn’t expect that I’d end up having company though. Seems like we might have had the same idea.” He took notice that her lips were smiling but her eyes looked spooked.  

"i think so too, I like to immerse myself in the nature you know?” she asked, though it was said more rhetorically.  “the snow gives it an extra touch of special, at least in my opinion.” she mused and pulled the mittens from her pocket and slipped her hands into them. 

“Well… part of me likes nights in the woods now. I used to be freaked out by it but now with all that has happened, it’s sort of comforting. Is that weird?” Albie asked, rubbing the back of his neck. “I was running. I feel like I have so much more energy now. I need to get it out, you know?” He looked around. “What are you doing out here?” He knew he could handle herself, but it was also dangerous. He may have been a nice hybrid but others lurking in the shadows might not have been so sweet. 

the elder langely smiled at her younger brother, it was good to hear that he was able to find some sort of solace. “good, alb. i’m really happy to hear that you’re finding something to help comfort you.” the blonde mused and shook her head as she began to lead the way out of the woods. “i was just doing some magic, letting loose and writing in my grimoire. i do the best when i’m isolated.” 

“Aw, that’s great! We need a female Salvatore out here to fuck shit up,” she said with a grin before hugging her friend. “Need any help putting together baby furniture or painting or something? Or is Damon making himself useful?” Bonnie questioned with a grin. She had already bought tons of things for the baby, probably too much. But she was trying to beat Caroline out for favorite aunt. 

the doppelganger wrapped her arms around the witch, smiling in the embrace before pulling back after a few moments. “damon is helping for sure, it’s actually a sight to see. but i could always use my best friends help, maybe you can help with something a little more special, a bonnie bennett original feather mobile?” 

josie: i figured you'd need it more than me

josie: i'm in walking distance to pretty much everything, and yes Damon would have stolen it back lol

josie: hot chocolate and a walk around the square?

lizzie: still yours to use when you need it too of course

lizzie: like if you get any hot dates and want to show off the car in all her glory

“You look cute all bundled up you know?” Damon placed a kiss on her nose.

“well, at least i look cute. i feel like a polar bear.” she chuckled softly, her eyes closing when he kissed her nose. “want one?” the brunette asked her husband in reference to the hot chocolate cart.

“Pure magic is all I’ve got right now, so I’ll take it.” Josie smiled at Elena. “You’re glowing you know.”

“it’s the only magic you need, josie.” elena said, smiling at her niece and it grew in size then at her comment. “it’s what i’ve wanted since damon and i got married.”

“Look at you, standing there like you’re posing for some sort of maternity magazine,” she joked with her oldest friend, smirking as she walked closer. “You staying all warm? We can’t let my niece or nephew turn into a popsicle,” she added with a smile, reaching over to rub her friend’s belly. 

elena laughed softly, sipping from the cup of hot chocolate and she kept a soft smile on her lips. “oh yeah, your niece and i are very warm. hot chocolates helping.” she said, the feeling of joy spreading through her as she did. “damon and i haven’t told anyone else it’s a girl yet.” she was so glad her best friend could be a part of her journey.

“I swear if you pop out doppelganger version 5.0 I’m going to be reeeeally annoyed.” Katherine commented, taking a look at Elena’s rather large baby bump. It was wild to think that they were both human now after all the both of them had been through. Their line had seemingly ended but now there was another on the way. Only in Mystic Falls. 

“don’t worry, we’ll both be long dead before another one of our faces are here.” she mused, looking from her large bump to the older doppelganger standing before her. while before she had a deep hatred for katherine, now being the one who was pregnant she could understand what the thought of loss of a child would do to someone.

lizzie: im still surprised you didn't take it with you, then again if you did uncle damon might take it back lol.
