One of the most interesting parts of the film for me was the themes of memory and dwelling on the past.

Spoilers for the film btw.

Both of the main characters hold onto an aspect of their past, with Mary it's her memory of her mother and with Clark it's his break-up with his girlfriend/wife. While Mary is able to let go and move on from her past, Clark isn't which leads to him wanting to stay in the Backrooms.

The Backrooms themselves are said by Clark to be created from memories of things and people that erode and distort over time. The entity being a warped version of Clark, while a bit on the nose, is a good representation of his unwillingness to let go of the past and how he lets it consume him (quite literally by the end).

Nicolas Cage is easily the star of the show, delivering a very fun performance as Ben Reilly/ The Spider.

Brendan Gleeson is really good as the mobster villain Silvermane, I believe this is also the first live action adaptation of Silvermane which is cool. The other performances are also quite good.

I think it's neat they used such an obscure villain as Megawatt rather than just going with Electro. I don't know why they did but it's interesting. I guess Spot is no longer the most obscure Spider-man villain to get a major adaptation.

I liked the story, thought it was interesting and kept me invested. I liked how it explored Ben's past/origin along with the origins of the other superpowered characters.

I think it's really cool that your allowed to watch the show in black and white or in colour. I watched the black and white version though I am considering rewatching it in the coloured version.

Obsession struck terror into my heart. It grabbed me by the throat and refused to let go 'til credits roll. The atmosphere is thick with intense dread that leaves you unsettled and uncomfortable the moment the One Wish Willow is broken.

But of course the real reason this film rattled me so much is Inde Navarette. God she's so absolutely incredible, giving what may be one of the best female performances in a horror movie. Her unpredictability and sheer intensity makes her a terrifying force to reckoned with. The way she sometimes moves like a stop motion character adds to the unsettling nature of her. The moments where the real Nikki is able to break out just makes the whole thing all the more horrifying. There are so many intensly scary scenes but I think the standout is the bedroom scene, it haunts me so much. Inde better get all the awards recognition, the whole movie should but her in particular because she puts her all and then some into this. Absolutely phenomenal performance in an absolutely incredible film.

Spoilers for course for season 2

-Once again Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Ononfrio are incredible as Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk respectively. I will once again state that these are two of the best performances in the MCU

-I'm to sorry Deborah Ann Wolf for not mentioning her in my review of season 1 but she is really good, especially the scene with Karen and Bullseye

-Speaking of Bullseye, the stuff involving him is amazing even better than season 1. The diner scene in episode 4 is one of the highlights of the season. Can't wait to see what they do with him specifically. I've heard some people theorise him becoming a member of the Thunderbolts and I'ld really like to see how he'ld interact with those characters

-While I've never seen Jessica Jones or the other Marvel (former) Netflix shows, I did think the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones was cool

-I really liked Matthew Lillards character, I hope we get to see him in more Marvel projects in the future

-I think the side characters are more interesting this season, especially Daniel who is given a really good arc

-I didn't really care for Heather last season but I thought the concept of her being haunted by Muse and her killing of him (and possibly also becoming him) was really interesting

-The flashback episode was really good. Of course seeing Foggy again was great but I also liked seeing Wesley again too

-Vanessa's death was honestly such a shock and a really good mid-season moment that made me even more invested in the show than I already was

-The action scenes are really good. I already meantioned the diner scene but another highlight is the fight between Daredevil and Kingpin in episode 6. There's so much buildup to this moment throughout this season and season 1 and the payoff was so good

-The ending is really good and leaves me excited for season 3, though I do hope the main villain isn't Kingpin. I love Vincent D'Onofrio as Fisk don't get me wrong but I'ld really like to see Daredevil face off against someone else. He can still be in season 3 as a supporting character but I'ld like to see someone new as the villain.
