I just watched Paprika (2006) and would 100% recommend it to anyone. Despite sharing some common dream scenes with Inception, the story and characters are completely different. Inception is one of my favourite movies and I thoroughly enjoyed Paprika.
The movie was adapted from a novel by Yasutaka Tsutsui and was directed by Satoshi Kon, who has another movie (Perfect Blue) that shares scenes with a famous hollywood movie (Black Swan), which I have yet to watch either (fake cinephile).
