Maybe has some freaky Organic alien attachment mechanism for when he’s inside someone. Maybe once inside, little bristles pop out that are soft and attach to the walls."

so this was inspired by an ask i received a while back, where starscream laid dud eggs every now and then and optimus had to take care of him through it all. (also shoutout to @nosgobermouche since we've been bouncing this off of each other!)

imagine starscream laying these dud eggs while he's onboard the nemesis and grieving because he wants a family. the war be damned, he just wants to be as far away from it as possible. every dud egg without a sparkling inside is yet another little life he never got to raise, another sign that this war is draining the life he could've had. sometimes, he'll take care of the eggs if he gets the chance, hoping beyond hope that they might have a tiny seeker inside, but nothing.

now, at some point in season one, he and optimus start seeing each other in secret. starscream initially sees it as merely an outlet for his sexual frustrations, but over time, the two begin to genuinely care about each other. they have these rendezvous with each other more often, fragging whenever they get the chance. eventually, after one of these trysts, starscream winds up pregnant - and this time, the eggs are viable.

starscream's elated, because not only has he wanted a family for a long time now, but also, as the last seeker, he's overjoyed that he won't be alone anymore. but, at the same time, he's terrified for the safety of his clutch, because he knows megatron will see them as either a distraction or a threat and try to terminate the clutch. it's what leads to starscream's ultimate decision to leave the decepticons and go rogue, hoping he can raise his family in what little peace he can find on this planet.

so imagine starscream acting like a territorial bird around his partner. the moment someone makes a pass at them, he starts fanning out his wings, revving his engine, brandishing his claws, and stomping his heels, all a very clear warning for whoever's trying to hit on you to back off, because you're spoken for.
