One of our littles, Honey, is Very Much A Child. She acts, behaves, believes, and plays like the child part she is.
Our other little? Corey is incredibly different. She has her child-like moments, and it’s hard to forget she’s only five, but she is far “more” (for lack of a better word rn) than that. She refers to herself constantly as “a 20 year old minor” because while she is five, she’s been five for 20 years and that’s a bit more life experience than a child’s. She hasn’t expressed any sexual or romantic interests, but she’ll smoke with the body and is very aware and understanding of many adult topics.
Every system is different and every little is different. Isn’t that just the most beautiful thing?
It's not just littles either, the whole little/adult as shorthand for can't/can consent is extremely flawed. We have littles who are like meatspace kids, we have littles who are very capable of consenting to typically adult things and we have fully adult headmates who can't. Equating those things to each other harms all of them.

We have a teen alter (not an adult, but still works for this), peter, who despite the fact that he appears as 16-19 in head space he is very much more childlike than he appers to be.
