Mod Sun

Everyday I give myself an hour to detach. I just wanna cut the cords of everything that came before. I wanna feel like a new person. I wanna feel like a new friend. I wanna feel like a new son. I wanna feel like a new artist. I wanna look at my own face for the first time. I don’t hold on to anything anymore. No expectations. So as I go to sleep tonight, the person I was today will die again. I’ll be born tomorrow.

I don’t know where it goes from here. Everyday I’m different…but I keep waking up, and the scent of my last dream is filling the room. I wait patiently for the fall. “It’ll happen” I keep saying. I’m getting closer to where the end has always been. I always saw myself alone in a cabin playing guitar, cigarette smoke dancing, waiting for a sunrise. I’m really finding a soft place to land. This life has been high. I’ve really given all my years to this, I guess I gotta keep giving. I ain’t dead yet friends.
