what about insisting that asians, especially east asians, are less likely to be fat and/or hairy. or that body standards of being fat/hairy is something western thats being imposed on the east?

I feel sometimes as though because I am Indian people don’t accept that I’m Asian. So often when people discuss Asia and Asian issues South Asia feels often left out of the conversation, typically in focus of East Asia. Of course, this is by no means the fault of East Asians! It’s just tiring going into Asian spaces and (sometimes) feeling so left out of the conversation, I think in part because the kind of discriminations are quite different from South Asia to East Asia—though neither is ‘worse’ than the other.
