With the last Cour fast approaching there’s no doubt that the same conversations are going to resume (not that it ever stopped) and it’s just so tiresome

One of the things that make me scratch my head is some people say Kubo was forced with the endgame pairings ??

You think a man that spent a decade and a half on a series that he worked on DAY and NIGHT, poured all his hard work into and tore his shoulder ligaments would end the story in a way he hated ? In a way he didn’t envision from the beginning ? HE ENDED THE STORY THE WAY HE WANTED TO !! Especially after that letter that poor boy sent him, I’d think that would give him more motivation tbh.

It’s not his fault some people read too much into certain things.

People ship things all the time, some ships happen and some don’t. Just take the L and move on, dabble in your fanarts and fanfics. No one is forcing you to stay mad about this years later. I for one wouldn’t waste all my time on a ship I supposedly hate but hey that’s just me !

Also the audacity to think he somehow is going to change the ending… do you know how weird and disrespectful that is ? I mean to want Kubo to add certain things to tie loose ends is normal but moving that crazy all for a ship 🥱

and let’s not forget how some of you weirdos were moving back then terrorising so many people, that’s not how people in fandom should act… BIG BIG 2026 and some behaviours haven’t changed it’s embarrassing.

Like you’re free to ship whatever you want, that’s the beauty of reading something, people will take certain things from it. It only turns into an ugly and negative experience when certain people treat others that way.

Day 2: yearning

Morning routine 🧚🌸🍞

orihime's five lifetimes speech is one of her most iconic speeches for sure and she's hitting all her marks for tender angst and powerful emotion but what really sells me on it is that....she's telling the truth. which sounds funny, i know, but if you remember the context of the speech, she wasn't saying there were, definitively, five lifetimes and that she loved ichigo in all of them. she said she longed for it. she said "if only i had five lifetimes." in the moment where she was saying goodbye, time was the one thing she didn't have (or had a limited amount of), and in that moment she "allowed" herself to long for more – for more time, more diversity from life, more experiences, but one love.

but anyway - back to my original point. when you look at the life orihime has very much lived by ichigo's side, you realize she's literally right. orihime had a crush on ichigo before he got his powers, her crush remained strong after he got them, and even when it was tested in the face of his hollow, her love endured and grew stronger. she saw every side of him, every slice of his life, and maintained that assertion of love, just like she said she would. ichigo has lived so many lives since he first got his powers, and orihime has been there for almost all of it up-close. she kept changing as he did, but her love remained the same.

and, if i'm allowed to go on a little tangent, this is why ichigo's confession to her in WDKALY is perfect. he asks orihime if she can make time for him, knowing they have so very little of it in this human life, and wondering if she would do him the honor of spending the rest of it with him. but what he doesn't know is that orihime had already promised him time she didn't even have, she told him she wanted five lifetimes worth of it, so of course she'd spend this time with him. she already has! every transformation of his is a lifetime that she loved him for – and there's a huge chance he already knows this – but he decides to ask her the (what he sees is) "selfish" question anyway and asks for more lifetimes with her, just like they've already given each other so far. yet another promise for them to keep.

my brain has never recovered from the damage of reading chapter 283 of bleach. what do you mean ichigo was losing the fight because he didn't want to scare orihime and he started to win when she reassured him she just wanted him to be safe. what do you mean he said he's "not ALLOWED to get hurt" just because she asked. what do you mean he stopped grimmjow's attacks without taking his eyes off her. HOW DO I MOVE ON FROM THIS.

I also love how Bleach discourse from 2009 to 2017 has shifted from “I like Ulqui/Hime because Ulquiorra makes her strong.” To “I like Ishi/Hime because Uryuu makes her strong.”

Never change Bleach fandom on centering all your ‘character development’ headcanons for Orihime on how far you can fling her away from Ichigo and link her worth on whether she chooses the 'right’ guy.

Reading the chapters leading up to it Orihime’s capture is just sad :(

Urahara telling Orihime that she’ll basically hold them back 😔

Her confidence plummeted even more. Concealing everything with a masked smile and then she sees Rukia and it all comes out…

One of the things she desperately doesn’t want to become is a burden. But as Rukia says “It’s not the weak of body that causes problems on the battlefield. It’s the weak of spirit.” Her words are a sense of comfort to Orihime, it’s what she really needs after being disheartened.

Also Hachi telling her that the important thing isn’t how she should be but how she wants to be. She shouldn’t have to rid herself of her true nature just so she can fight, she can do it in her own way. The important thing is her spirit !!
