Zakhmon ne mujh me darwaaze khole hain,

Maine waqt se pehle taanke khole hain

Baahar aane ki bhi sakat nahin ham mein,

Tu ne kis mausam mein pinjare khole hain

Ye kaun hamaare pyas pe daaka daal gaya,

kis ne mashkizon ke tasme khole hain

Yun to mujhko kitne khat moushul hue,

Ek do aise they, jo dil se khole hain

.

Yeh mera Pehla Ramzaan tha uske baghair,

Mat pucho kis munh se roze khole hain

.

Warna dhoop ka parvat kis se katata tha,

Usne chhatri khol ke raaste khole hain

.

Barson se aawaazen jamti jaati thi,

Khaamoshi ne kaan ke parde khole hain

.

Dariya band kiya hai kooze mein, Tahzeeb,

Ek chaabi se saare taale khole hain

.

Mannat maan-ne waalon ko maaloom nahin,

Kis ne aa kar pedh se dhaage khole hain..
