Lately, I have been working at a nice little hotel in the countryside as a summer job. The hotel is a traditional Provencal house with blue shutters on the top of a hill surrounded by giant pines and fields of wheat and lavender. The garden is filled with olive trees, thyme, basil, lavender, geraniums, roses, sunflowers... Everything smells good there. Especially the kitchen where the owner bakes banana cakes, croissants, chocolate and caramel pudding, apple and fig pies. Inside, there are a lot of beautiful decorations such as cats statues in various colours, cute ancient boxes, vases of all shapes with dried flowers, old books, transparent plates with rocks, sand, seashells or other cute objects on it. I arrive early at work, when everything is quiet because everyone is still asleep. The sun is already warm, there is always a nice breeze in the morning while I prepare the tables for the breakfast. Then, I clean up the rooms all morning, which enables me to clean my head at the same time. While Iâm washing and cleaning, I concentrate on the tasks I have to do, I prepare the beds in a nice way, rearrange peopleâs products on their tables and in the bathroom, it makes me feel good to reorganise everything. Everyday I accomplish the same tasks, but for the first time I have found a little routine that enables me to be active while getting rid of my stress and my toxic thoughts. I didnât know I could enjoy summertime while working and getting out of bed early. There is also the ownersâ cat living there, his name is Uppercut and he is a fluffy grey Persian with big yellow eyes that comes miaowing at me every time he is bored and wants to drink in the sink, I just love him.
