You're so much more than they say.

    ❝’ow would I know wha’ ‘omies ‘re born wit?❞ They gave a small pout, feeling as though he was laughing at them. It wasn’t their fault they weren’t well educated. Pokemon couldn’t teach them this kind of thing. Though at his latter comments, they just shrugged.     ❝I ain’ go’ no money, so’s I gotta swipe stuff. An’ I can’ go ta no doctors or nuthin’, ‘cuz I don’ exis’ ta them kinda people. So’s teh swiped glasses gotta work fer me.❞

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to laugh at you.” Hopefully soon the other could work out the glasses issue, since reading would be good for them. There was much that they probably should know by now, but Noboru knew that not everyone had the same education privileges as himself.

“Well, i do feed them a handful of poke beans each before putting them back in the ocean; that way they get a full belly before hand.” She chuckled softly at the image of the happy little balls feasting on poke’beans from her hands before nodding. 

“Do you think i should bring anything? I went into Po town and it’s not in good shape. I was thinking dessert trays or something like that.”

“Aw, that’s adorable. I bet they appreciate that. Did you know tourist stores sell body pillows of them? I just might have to pick one up one day. Some people find them annoying, but they’re just plain cute to me.” They were such an underrated Pokémon, especially with locals. Tourists seemed to find them endearing, at least.

     ❝Wha’…? I ain’ sure ‘ow dis glasses thin’ works…I though’ homies was jus’ born wit dem er somethin’…I ain’ even sure ‘f these are teh ones I need ‘cuz I jus’ swiped a bunch from teh store…I don’ ge’ dis stuff…❞

“No, silly. People aren’t born with anything but their naked bodies.” If this kid honestly thought people who wore glasses were born with them, then they must hardly have had any education. It wasn’t something to hold against them, though Noboru found it a bit amusing.

    ❝No…I’ ain’ makeup…❞ They finally lifted their head, revealing the new stolen pair of reading glasses on their face. ❝I ain’ sure ‘ow I fel ‘bou’ wearin these…bu’ ‘parenly I need them ta read good…❞

“Yup! Even though my dad cut me off it’s stupidly easy to make food money living in Alola! twenty thousand poke dollars a day when you chuck pokemon back into the sea over at the grand hotel. i paid for a year at the motel doing that once!” she shook her head slightly and giggled at how easy living here was. 

“and yes, i planned to go to po town for a while; I’ve never been to a casual party like they plan to have! It was all just ritzy things with champagne and staff members carting around bite sized morsels.” She explained. 

“I’ve done that job before, too! It wasn’t a full time thing or anything, but it’s super easy to do that while visiting certain cities. I really like those Pyukumu, they’re so cute and nice. I felt sorry for them, not for throwing them back in, but because they’re so stubborn that they won’t go find food.” He’d left the part about softly petting each and every one out of the story.

Friends of friends.  Ah yes.  Every now and again someone would bring along a friend who didn’t take the game as seriously as everyone else.  Inevitably they were the first to die.  And it wasn’t to say that these people were always new to the game either, they just got something different out of it than Polly did. 

Usless tanks though.  There was something infuriating.  People who didn’t know how to draw aggro or who kept thinking it was the wizard’s job to be up front because they hit hardest.  Polly shook their head at the thought.

“LOL IKR?  PPL get so picky about basic tactics?  Like, seriously if you do not heal the tank and they die then everyone else is gonna get swept.  One time both our paladins went down and the lizard men we were fighting just KO’d us super fast.  It was horrible.”

“I think the problem is that some people do not understand basic team structure.  Honestly, the issue I face most as a rogue class is getting to chests first because they are trapped or locked, and then people expect you to just hand them the best stuff?  Like, IDK, I think items should be doled out to the people who need it most TBH.  Had a druid once who kept insisting they needed enchanted plate armor but they could not even use it?”

Polly shrugged again.  Collecting stuff for other profiles in your account was great and all, but honestly!

The other’s chatroom-like speech almost unnoticed by Noboru. After all, they were talking about things that would often times be discussed online. Maybe that was why they were speaking like that. Or that was simply they way they talked all of the time. It didn’t really matter either way; Noboru could understand them perfectly fine.

“Unless you have a fantastic defense character on your side, the team is pretty much sitting ducks if there’s no tank to fend enemies off. I can heal and you can hide, but it would only be a matter of time before we’re picked off. See, I’d like to run away in that case. As a rouge you could do that more easily. But then you have the ‘no, let’s wait for the tank to respawn and join us’ people, and that just gets more people killed. ...Heh, it sounds like I’m complaining, but I really do enjoy playing games with people.

    ❝’M fine. ‘M jus’..no’ used ta this ye’. ‘S jus’ weird ta ‘ave stuff on my face.❞ They shrugged, trying to keep their face hidden. They didn’t even really know what the other looked like, or if they even knew them, but they didn’t feel like looking up yet.

        “Is it illegal to catch this many pyukumuku? Is         that why you are looking at me as if I am doing         something wrong?”         Casually, he seems to have been filling his souvenir         tote bag with various variety of pokéballs, many still         littering the space around him.

“...It’s not illegal.” But maybe it should be. This man better have an amazing space and resources for those Pokémon. Noboru wasn’t bold enough to say these things.

    Kawehi shook their head, fingers curling around the chocolate coins, doing their best to stay hidden as they unwrapped one and popped it into their mouth. ❝My face ain’ no differen’ I don’ think…I jus’ don’ know ‘ow I look…❞

“I don’t know how you look either.” Come to think of it, the other didn’t know what he looked like either. Honestly though, just what was this person trying to hide?

“He said that it would make my skin break out and ruin my figure and all sorts of ill effects. Since i sang on stage a good deal my diet had to be controlled to ensure a flawless form under spot lights.” 

She swung her legs slowly, to and fro and watched him, a new smile creeping up along her face. 

“Well, i’d love that very much. Are you not going to the new years eve thing over in Po town though? I hear that’s going to be a rather large party.”

“Oh.” Noboru hardly knew a thing about her father, and he already disliked him. If he wanted a perfect doll, he should have bought one, not mold a child into whatever he wanted. “That whole ‘chocolate causes acne’ thing was disproven long ago. So maybe he was superstitious or something. Whatever it was...” A stern look turned into a smile. “You can eat how you like now, right?

    ❝Bu’ they can’ see my face.❞ At the mention of chocolate, they held out their hand expectantly, although kept hidden the best they could.

“Oh i love those! My nanny would slip them to me when i was younger when i’d do well in my lessons as a reward without my Father knowing.” She explained. She listened to him explain the dreidel with amusement. She didn’t think many people would gamble for chocolate, but it was something she could see being very fun to do! 

“we never did much for holidays. My Father is in charge of a rather large company, so parties were mainly for showing off. this was the first time i’d ever been on my own for the holidays.” 

“I don’t see why your father would care if you got a few extra treats, but at least you have some fond memories of them! But lessons? Were you homeschooled? I always wanted to be, but my parents were far too busy to do that.” It would have been an nice escape from bullies. At least his brothers were there to stick up for him, but they were in a different grade than him.

   They’re hiding their face the best they can. Don’t look at them, don’t do it. Or do, it’s not really that hard to stop them.

“Well, i know what  Hanukkah is…but what’s gelt?” 

A look of confusion crossed her face as she settled beside him, ankles crossing. She did crush down the urge to remark at how cute his actions had been. Most boys, she found didn’t like being called such a thing. 

So, she simply fastened her eyes on him, eager to learn. 

“Wow excuse me?  Rogues are glass, what morons have you been working with?”  If you were soloing or planning on running ahead to disarm traps, then you needed potions.  A lot of potions.  Also gosh, he was putting a lot of importance on his role.  Yes, it was important, but you could survive without a main healer if you had enough alternatives or a few people who subbed in a few healing spells.

“Rogues are point guards too you know, since we have to unlock everything and everyone else has shit for trap sense?”  Polly had once watched a warrior barrel through three consecutive spike traps and die because they didn’t want to wait for Polly to disarm everything.  It was pretty dumb.

“Also backstabbing requires being up ahead too, so it’s more your fault for not being able to keep track of people?”  A good healer stuck by the tank or held back with the other spell casters.  But if you cowered in the back all the time and expected people to come to you, then you weren’t that great.

Unless he was talking about crawls and not encounters.  Because if you busted into a room alone because you couldn’t wait for the group, then, you deserved death.

“Tons of morons. You never know how dumb friends of friends are. But yes, absolutely, it’s not that I don’t want rogues to do their job, I just don’t like being blamed for their stupidity. They see there’s a healer on the team and assume that healer is only for them. I care about tanks much more... unless that tank is as useless as a blown out light bulb.” What kind of comparison was that? It was what came to mind first.

“I hope you don’t get the impression I dislike rogues. I don’t dislike any class. I just don’t like people getting mad at me when they die from their own mistakes. I can only help so much, and when choosing whether to heal a tank or a rogue, it will almost always be the tank. Or even a magic user.
