Let’s Be Honest About This Narrative
There’s a particular comment I have just seen that needs to be addressed, because it isn’t criticism—it’s fabrication.
“He gives a lot, but he lies a lot.”
That’s not a harmless opinion. That’s an accusation about character, stated as if it’s fact, and it’s being repeated without a single shred of evidence.
Calling someone a liar requires proof. Not disappointment. Not assumptions. Not imagined access. Proof.
What people often label as “lying” in Sam’s case is actually something far more basic: privacy. He does not owe strangers real-time updates, personal explanations, or access to his private life. Changing schedules, limited disclosure, or silence are not dishonesty—they’re boundaries.
And boundaries are allowed.
There’s also a glaring contradiction in this claim. Sam is routinely acknowledged for his generosity, consistency, work ethic, and the amount he gives—through his work, his causes, and his engagement over many years. Yet in the same breath, he’s accused of being fundamentally untruthful, without examples or documentation. Those two ideas do not coexist logically unless the accusation is rooted in emotion rather than fact.
What’s really happening here is misplaced expectation.
When people build personal narratives around someone they don’t actually know, disappointment can easily turn into resentment. Instead of examining that feeling, it gets projected outward as a moral judgment. “He lies” becomes a convenient way to avoid admitting that expectations were never realistic to begin with.
Disappointment is not deception.
If someone is going to claim dishonesty, then the responsibility is on them to show a consistent, verifiable pattern of falsehoods and actual harm caused. Without that, it’s not truth—it’s gossip dressed up as moral outrage.
And I want to be very clear about this space: comments like that will not be allowed here. If I see this kind of nasty, baseless accusation again, I will report it and remove it—again and every time.
That’s not censorship. That’s moderation.
Repeating false narratives does not make someone a “realist” or a “truth-teller.” It makes them reckless with someone else’s name. And tearing down a person’s integrity without evidence isn’t fandom—it’s entitlement.
Supporting Sam means respecting truth, boundaries, and basic human decency. If someone can’t do that, then no—they’re not a fan, and they don’t get to claim him, his work, or his legacy.
This space is for honesty. Not invention.
