Well, this certainly looks better than I, Frankenstein. The latest silver screen reworking of Mary Shelley’s gothic horror classic stars James McAvoy as the titular mad scientist, Daniel Radcliffe as faithful servant Igor, directed by Sherlock and Lucky Number Slevin’s Paul McGuigan and with a script from Chronicle wunderkind and wrestling nerd Max Landis. It certainly looks like one of the more light-hearted, less angsty takes on the story (leaning a tiny bit closer to Young Frankenstein than Kenneth Branagh’s 1994 version), and is undoubtedly more well-rounded than the likes of Van Helsing and the aforementioned I, Frankenstein.
