An Opilion or Harvestman in the subfamily Gagrellinae! Look at how lichen grows on their long legs!! Isn't that crazy! It paints this image of a walking island, an overgrown gentle giant strolling about!
And look how little their body is compared to their legs!! Such whimsically majestic creatures!
Taken in Tatamá National Park, Colombia

Opisthocomus hoazin, the Hoatzin! My favorite bird ever!
So many things that make them delightful! Their rufous mohawk! Their blue mask, their speckled backs, the fact they are the only birds that eat leaves, and of course, the fact the chicks have claws on their wings just like mesozoic dinosaurs!
Here's one all tucked in inside their parent's feathers, looks comfy!
Taken in Restrepo, Meta, Colombia
Check out Acutalis tartarea! A treehopper with a bright green abdomen covered by transparent wings! A little greenhouse! The pronotum is black with white edges, very pretty lad!
Taken in Guatavita, Colombia
One of my first highly exciting wildlife encounters!
Freshly-hatched Stinkbug nymphs!!! (Pentatomidae) absolutely stellar find, I couldn't be luckier, you can still see some of the siblings that haven't yet come out. They're all waiting until everyone's out and afterwards they'll part ways, I took this pic back in 2015, I wonder how their lives played out.

A freshly hatched Lacewing Larva! I was so fortunate to be able to witness this tiny guy become part of our world! The long hairs on their back will be used as velcro so they can stick all kinds of rubble to become a Thrash Bug! Quite a rare sighting to see them naked, this was one of my favorite encounters!

Biolleyana costalis!! a Planthopper whose nymph has these enchanting optic fiber-like waxy tail protrusions!!!!! This is one of the earthlings I’ve ALWAYS dreamed of seeing with my own eyes! Needless to say I was overjoyed! They use those long shiny filaments to easily escape from predators! As well as clean themselves of honeydew buildup!
This photo is dedicated to the late Andreas Kay!

The Humpbacked Bee Fly! Geron!!! This is one of the smallest bee flies (Bombyllidae) I've ever seen!! Such a nice little guy!! Look at that fluff!
Taken in Ricaurte, Cundinamarca, Colombia
Getting a bit raunchy in here I found these two flies a little busy on a leaf, they belong to the Family Sepsidae! They’re very tiny and black, which make for a very nice contrast against the vivid green of leaves. They're fairly common, always a good fly to find!
Taken in Cumaral, Meta, Colombia
This shimmering beauty is Probaenia tibialis! A beetle with a hyper-textured pair of elytra that makes them glitter in the sun!
Apparently they belong to the same subfamily as Tortoise Beetles! Cassidinae! Wow!

The dashing Rhodobaenus augustinus posing cutely for the camera!
I love weevils! Such silly faces! This one's antennae are also super cool, and the pitch black with the bright orange is such a look!
Taken in Tatamá National Park, Colombia
Paramastax duquei, a member of the Eumastacid family of grasshoppers commonly known as "Clown Grasshoppers" due to their extravagant colors! Finding them really is like seeing jewels shining out in the open! And they aren't super anxious so you can gawk at their sight for a good while!
Taken in Tatamá, Risaralda, Colombia
Alchisme tridentata, a triple-horned treehopper! With the color and texture of a lime, and a dashing black ridge in the middle!
I specially love the shape of their eyes... they look so darling, like a wet puppy
Taken in Chicaque, Cundinamarca, Colombia
Leafhoppers! What I would consider "my muse" of nature photography. They are sooo diverse and colorful and wonderful and SO understudied! I love being able to showcase their underrated beauty.
This exemplar belongs to the genus Paracarinolidia! I really like how large their eyes are, and the starry night-like dots on their wings!
Taken in Amazonas, Colombia
The lovely Bumbleebee Jumping Spider! Genus Corythalia! Very charming as all jumping spiders, so inquisitive! They seem to have an affinity for hunting on top of rocks.
I really like the splotched yellow pattern on their head, and how shiny their black legs are!
Taken in Capurganá, Colombia

A beautiful bright orange snail in the genus Luteostriatella! Apparently quite a rare sighting! Possibly a new species, very thankful to have been blessed by their presence! I really like how lopsided and horizontal the shell is!
Taken in Amazonas, Colombia
Ariamnes cylindrogaster! Can you believe this is a spider?! It was just hanging out as a stick but it was suspicious to see a stick so perfectly floating in a spiderweb, I thought it was a Cyclosa that uses actual sticks and dirt to make a false stick and puts itself in the middle, but no this one is the whole stick! And it can move that whole thing like nothing! Their common name is the Whip Spider!
