Do any of you dovahkiin stop and think about Sahloknir's perspective before you kill him? Don't you think it'd suck to be killed as soon as you're resurrected, without even getting to slaughter a single innocent mortal? How would YOU feel if you got kicked out of a tavern before you could even take your first sip of mead? Honestly it's just rude and inconsiderate. Smh at all of you.
“Looks like we’re stuck together until the snow lets up.”
(For Kaeya or Zhongli! Or whomever you feel wants to interact with her!)
First Days of Winter / accepting / @nildov
"So it would seem," Kaeya says, looking out at the roaring blizzard from the abandoned campsite within the cave they took shelter in from the elements. Dragonspine is notorious for its unpredictable and treacherous environment, easily catching any unprepared traveler by surprise. Even the most seasoned adventurer has been known to fall victim to its nature. While his cryo vision would take the brunt of it off, he's still human and not impervious to ailments such as hypothermia. He also can't speak on his shelter mate's faculties either.
"In that case, why don't we get to know each other a little more since we'll be stuck here for a while?" He offers a smile as he walks from the cave entrance to sit beside the fire where it is warmer. "What brought you to Dragonspine of all places? I can't imagine it's for sightseeing. As you can see, it's not exactly hospitable."
Her initial entry into these new lands had been ... a time, to say the least. Reina couldn't even clearly remember how she even ended up on this mountain. Still, she could have had worse starts, she told herself. A cold mountain was at least a familiar kind of environment to that of Skyrim's own. With plenty being just as eternally cold as this one.
But that didn't make the fact she had gotten snowed in any better. Even more so with a stranger. Sure she was a nord, and she could use spells to keep the rest of the worst of the weather from harming her, or even her thu'um to clear it outright. But this stranger was at least someone she could talk to. Someone she could glean at least basic information about this place. And gods knows what kind of trouble she could accidentally start up by revealing the wrong card, let alone all of them.
"Very well," she kept her voice calm but soft, a stark difference to the howling winds outside the cave.
"In that case, you can call me Reina. As for why I'm here... ironically, this place was similar enough to my own home that; even with the storm; it brought a form of comfort."
"Are you hurt? By the storm and cold I mean. I should have some medicine and enough supplies to make us food."
@nildov
He was close to Veilstone now, walking along a path he'd walked all his life what seemed like eons ago. Through Hearthome, through Mount Coronet (which caused hair on the back of his neck to raise), up to Solaceon Town.
Someone tended to the graves outside of Lost Tower and Cyrus couldn't help but stop and watch. Some feeling pulled at the hollowness in his chest, threatening to leak inside and force him to confront 'sentiment'.
He needed to move on before it could do just that, but his feet moved him before his mind recognised it.
He found himself in front of the attendant of the graves, staring down at them but not quite looking at them.
"Why do you think ghosts stay here?" He didn't realise he was not speaking in his own tongue.
Another day, another grave. At least the company was pleasant enough.
With her Yamask to guide her between the tombstones; she worked with practiced precision cleaning and tending to the graves. Her eyes were locked forward. But even she noticed the change in the air.
The residents seemed nervous. She watched the ghost flitter about just past her eye and couldn't help but feel concern. So many would come and go, and she'd rarely seen them like this. Then ... she heard the footsteps.
A person? Seemed so from the sound of their footsteps at least. And they were heading closer.
Keeping her head down, she continued her work. Perhaps it was another family member or loved one looking for a particular grave? She knew the placements nearly by heart. Or maybe it was a trainer looking for a battle? She'd hope not; the graves were narrow, most of her team were far to big for this place, and she'd rather not disturb someone's rest by the battle accidently destroying someone's remains.
And then, she heard his voice. More specifically, his words. Her mouth moved before her mind could process.
"Where ... where did you learn that language?"
Her voice was quiet and rather hoarse from lack of use. But shock was laced in every sound as she slowly stood.
Eventually, his question registered. And not one to try to miss an opportunity...
"Depends on the ghost. But from what I've been told, it's quiet, most of the time. Most wouldn't willingly go here regularly if they can help it." "May I ask what brings you here, stranger?"

to love someone is firstly to confess: i'm prepared to be devastated by you.
“Humans are an unending problem.” Her dark claws curved over the metal railing. “Ever since I became this way, they have shown nothing but fear and hatred.” “Violence,” she continued, “An omen because of the blizzards I bring, the people I eat. Many demon hunters’ve tried, but I’ve slain all that’ve raised their weapons ta me.” Her dynamic with mankind was understood. She was the monster and a source of their ire, and they were the prey forced to flee or defend themselves. She had been considerate enough to stay mobile, as to not affect the weather in any one area, but she was still sought after. When she noticed the pattern she decided to hunker down in a cave for the time being. Let them come to her then. They wouldn’t leave if they got close enough. “The only thing they would trade with me is a spear for my life.” She gestured at her heart as though she were being stabbed. A thick needle of ice jut from her ‘stab wound’, and she broke it off and tossed it over her shoulder. “I prefer to hunt, whether that’s human or animal, and as much as I savor tracking, I’ve needed instant gratification lately.” For her sanity. Jewel remained unmoved as Reina made her way up the side of the ship. She ate her meal in large chunks, crushing bones through her sharp teeth like they were toothpicks. She scraped the bones clean and spit them over railing.
Hums of acknowledgment was the initial thing that left her; slowly climbing her way onto the ship. until she hoisted herself over the railing with her 'loot'.
"Plfft-!" Reina spat out the end of velvet bag, her nose scrunching at the peculiar texture and the remnants in her mouth. "Why do humans like that stuff so much?" A rhetorical question as she glared at the fabric. "So itchy and weird," but it held it's purpose she supposed, before looking between it and the bodies.
She couldn't eat many at once, maybe one or two a day if she really needed it. But she could at least preserve the rest to the best of her ability.
Crawling over to the corpses tied to her, mist rolled from her mouth as she began to sing. Ice formed and engulfed all but one of the bodies, planning to eat at least one throughout the day. And her gaze shifted over to the rest that remained, untying herself from the bodies.
"Do you not freeze them?" They would probably last longer, she thought, encased rather than just close to ice from the looks of it. Quickly, she shook her head, refocusing on the conversation and offering Jewel another smile.
"Easy enough," that likely meant she would have to be their face for trade in a human guise. "There's another ship ten knots west of here, fifteen to the south. I'd be careful though, both sail in the direction of more dangerous waters than this. West and north have stronger currents, and carry many an iceberg if one isn't careful. South may be farther but at least one can more easily fight the creatures there, unlike nature."
"Yer not s'posed ta eat it." Given the siren's reaction, Jewel bet she wouldn't do it again. Reina's singing voice was pleasant, melodic, and almost soothing. It was no wonder these fishermen were lured. If they had their wits about them they could have played their own music to drown her out or stuff their chapped ears with something to bar her tune from sinking into them. Ice sprouted from the ear nearest to Reina, jutted out in an elf point as it encased her ear. Just a precaution. "They always freeze over around me, stiff as a board if I keep 'em long enough. It's jus' that I have a bad habit a'not keepin' 'em fer very long 'cause I get. Hungry. My bear gets hungry. Very difficult." "Mmh?" She took another bite out of her kill -- all meat from the thigh this time. She sloppily, thoughtfully chewed. "I ain' worried 'bout no bergs. Nature don't bother me." She was the one that bothered nature! "Currents, waters; no bother. I can traverse them well. Bigger fish out in them currents, under 'em. Likely fewer humans though." "If you wanna go south," she continued, "we'n steer that way. M'prepared fer any direction."
Noted. "Makes sense," she crawled away from the human bodies; her tail moving side to side against the deck; and to the bag again to properly inspect it's contents.
As her claws traced over intricate metal and gems, Reina watched how they glimmered in the light and weighed their options. Currents she was familiar with, and it would take less energy to entrance a ship than it would that and anything else that thought them prey nearby. But her biggest concern was possible icebergs and the monsters that could lurk in far deeper waters, waiting for unsuspecting prey of all types. Still, they both could use the food and the supplies from human ships.
"Best we head West then. The quicker we get there, and with some luck, we could catch another ship on the way to safer shores." What she knew of the Land folk was that they often needed supplies from their homes, and Jewel had a bear; whatever that was the siren didn't want to meet it while hungry.
And if they caught more ships, more shiny trinkets and knowledge for them both!

'Closer ... I wish to look closer...' smaller details evaded her, but she could see the shift all the same.
It was a small fascination, similar to what she had seen Sea Witches and more talented Hunters than she had done in the colony, shifting flesh to one thing and back again. And it was still fascinating to watch those from land and sky do the same.
"Jewel, a lovely name," like the gems she collected off the dead and wrecked, diamonds glimmering in the light. "I am Reina, Hunter of the Keizaal Colony. And I hope that we could work together."
Webbed and Clawed hands motions towards the bodies she tied. "Both our work would be eased if combined, less energy used that could be spent on other things that could benefit us both. Both of us need food, and it's easier if one keeps them docile while the other slaughters the prey who cant fight back." A grin crossed her features, Sharp teeth and fangs on full display to try and show friendliness. It was what she was told the people above did it to show each other they meant no harm. And though she wasn't sure how accurate it was, it didn't hurt to try.
"Shiny trinkets, tools, knowledge could be shared too, if you are willing. I know many routes the sailors and creatures take. It would be easier to hunt, would it not? It would certainly help make a surplus of food."

An alliance for a hunt. Jewel didn't need help getting food. Having a surplus sounded nice though. She typically kept a small supply at best. Her kills held over better in the snow locked mountains she inhabited, but she also had an inhuman appetite and an enormous polar bear to feed. Well over her height now. To think the boy was still growing... It was risky business to involve herself with a siren. Though she was no longer human, it was still ingrained into her from an early age not to trust the waterfolk, not to tread the waters unless one was well equipped. It took a layered fortitude to enter these waters. Jewel held no fear but also held no trust for Reina's kind either. But it wasn't like she would get nothing out of this deal... and if Reina tried to kill her she would simply retaliate. She could be food too if it came down to that. "I'm willin'. I assume you'd be curatin' a docile facade. Humans tend ta get uncomfortable 'round me." Jewel disappeared from the metal trim. After several minutes she resurfaced with a large tied sack, velvet red and frosted. She had found jewelry, golden plates, gemstones, glowstones, and newly sharpened daggers and blades. "Here," she tossed it over, "be nice trinkets. Or I'll eat you."
"That could be arranged," she trilled, swimming closer to the side, as if ready to pounce and try to climb to the deck with the corpses still tied to her. But it did beg the question, "are the humans that much of a problem?"
Jewel seemed more than capable at killing them as far as Reina was aware. 'Though perhaps that wasn't what she was referring to?' The sight of the heavy bag grabbing her attention before moving, not wanting to be hit by it.
When she swam to it to see what it contained, pleased chirps and trills left the siren as she saw it's contents; a hand reaching out to inspect some of the jewelry and daggers. Her pupils dilating as she inspected each piece.
"Of course, it wouldn't be wise to betray an ally. Nut if I may, do you trade with the humans often? Or is this you preferred way of gaining food?" She could work with either method, the Pirates she studied often working with both. Perhaps that is how she can keep their natures hidden as they hunted? It would certainly give a decent enough cover.
Closing the bag and putting the end in her mouth, she circled around the ship for a way to climb up. The weight would feel weird to Reina; as she wasn't used to how gravity felt outside the water; but the bodies and bag were at least light enough for her to carry.

Frustration was first to bloom in her chest when the slaughter started, Reina suppressed the urge to thrash her tail from where she swam, her smile instead showing more of her sharp teeth. 'I found the ship, sang the sailors to a standstill, they're my prey,' the first thought huffed. Less humans to feast meant less food and supplies for her colony; and admittedly less trinkets for her to nab and hide away for future study and use. 'But, they are saving me the time and energy it would have took to kill them all in the first place. And perhaps I can still negotiate with this one for whatever items and food they'd be willing to part with.' Her frustration started to ease at the second thought, but now came a new problem. What was she to bargain with? This person didn't seem to need help in terms of protection, if the sounds and towers of ice were anything to go by. She had little equipment or shiny things immediately on her to trade, that could be of use. But her thoughts came to an immediate halt as she heard her spoke, looking up have violet meet icy blue, and that gave her an idea. Quick to calm and even quicker to dodge the spears, she swam about to dislodge the corpses; tying them together with some lengths of rope before swimming back up to talk to the stranger. "Many thanks," her melodic voice rang out, hoping the one above could hear her clearly. "But I am curious; may I know your name, stranger?"
The demon woman draped her arms over the side of the ship and rested her chin on her blackened hands.
“Name…” her voice edged with a graveled growl.
Her mouth quietly vibrated between a snarled mess of needled ice and teeth and something resembling human lips. Her brows knitted in concentration.
“Ouu… lll…--” a curt gruff.
Pale flesh wove over her features in a crawl. Her lips were peeling, cracked, and bloodied but looked human.
Fog steamed from her nose as she flexed her jaws. “Ah… it’s Jewel.”
She brought the still spurting neck of her kill near her mouth. The dryness in her throat was persistent as it always was. Gotta hydrate.
“Don’ know why a siren wanna know it.” Who knows, maybe she had heard of her. Jewel had hunted the frozen waters for years (several months now in this form.) Humans, animals, merfolk, serpents, other demons; everything was wild game when she was hungry. The pangs gripped her in a blind fury at its worst, a far cry from her pitiful cravings as a human girl.
“You’n yer kind usually go fer the kill right away." Tiny spikes rippled along her skin as she spoke. “What’s a name matter? You got yer food.”
'Closer ... I wish to look closer...' smaller details evaded her, but she could see the shift all the same.

A figure peered over the deck of the ship, her silhouette illuminated by a pale blue glow of needled ice behind her as well as from her own body.
Around her, the limp bodies of men hung, impaled on her ice like bait on a craggy pole. Blood dripped fresh but clung stiff and cold to the dead.
Pins of faintly lit violet settled on the creature in the dark water, a huff of chilly air flaring from her nose and mangled maw.
“You distracted them. S’pose I’ll share…”
She disappeared. The sound of shattered glass echoed across the frozen waters. Another, then another.
Over the edge came massive spears of ice with the skewered men, all chucked roughly around the area where the demon had seen the siren.
She returned, leaning against the metal trim while she tore into one of her kills, neck first.
Frustration was first to bloom in her chest when the slaughter started, Reina suppressed the urge to thrash her tail from where she swam, her smile instead showing more of her sharp teeth.

I still can't stop thinking about cryptid Dovahkiin. Like there's just something about them distinctively inhuman that they can't shake. The way they travel effortlessly through the country. The way they somehow know where their enemies are at all times in combat. The way they can navigate to anywhere in Skyrim with nothing more than a vague description. The way they always know everyone's name, without speaking to them. The way they always know where their objective is, unfailingly. The way they are a blank slate, hardly emoting, often locked behind armor or a mask. The way they react faster than anyone would consider possible to changing situations, almost like they've done it all before. The way they are able to melt into the shadows when they hide. The way they are able to navigate the landscape with unfaltering ease, climbing sheer cliffaces and walking along mountain ranges. The way they APPEAR so human, but are just... not.
Please reblog this if it’s okay for me to just pop into your ask box to RP with you even if you haven’t reblogged a meme because I just want to RP with you

Jewel stared at this woman, eyed her up and down as she pondered what to do with this situation... On one hand, Reina seemed genuine in her intentions here. While her arrival wasn't easily explained, she held steady to this task she had to complete. On the other hand, Jewel didn't know her. They had known each other for all of a few minutes and the Shinigami found it.. off for someone to come out of nowhere and request her help for this important object. Had the compliment towards her hunting ability been a lure? How was Jewel supposed to know whether or not she was a trustworthy person? Flip the coin; it still didn't sit right with her. "I'm sure this's a real important thing, but how do I know this is a worthy task? How am I s'posed ta know that yer not tryna use me as a pawn ta slay when it's convenient fer ya? An' how the hell'm I s'posed ta know that you gettin' yer mitts on this key is a good thing? You could have nefarious intentions fer all I know."
So this one questioned and doubted them?
'Good,' Reina chimed. 'It means that; chances are, since they seem to have common sense; they can stay loyal for longer if we earn their trust. And that they might not be so easily swayed by the gods if they rear their heads here.'
'Then how do we do that?'
'Actions speak louder than words.'
"Fair points," the Dovah hummed. "If it is the risk of betrayal you fear, I am willing to help you before my own task and let you carry out which ever punishment you deem most fair or appropriate if I attempt to harm you or betray your trust. Dragons value words and promises greatly-" hard not to when Dovah commonly fight with their words, literally, "-so I will follow your lead until our duties are complete. Though I feel I must warn you; I cannot predict just what will exactly happen while such a powerful artifact remains out of the hands of the God of Luck. Though if I was sent here because of it; for better and for worse; there's a fair chance other beings from my home will pour in as well. And that can bring more chaos than you may be used to. Open doors like that can invite all sorts of uninvited guests." Though that was a bit of an understatement considering her gods.
More chaos than she was used to, eh? Sounded like it could be fun. Jewel found a dash of humor in Reina's willingness to aid in her tasks first, but 'oh, we should get that key as fast as possible otherwise it Won't Be Good.' Sarcasm aside. "I come here to breathe. I come here to exist and explore and little else. Any combat is circumstantial because I don't strike first. I've nothin' of task related importance out 'ere, so I'm.. open ta help ya right away. I don't have a reason ta trust you though." "If you value words," Jewel went on, "understand this. I do not take kindly ta bein' used 'er lied to. I will slay you if do me dirty. An' I'll slay any creatures that try to attack me, regardless of who and what they are." Part of her was ready to desert this stranger, but the potential threats to Hueco Mundo gripped her just enough to stay. She couldn't predict what this supposed chaos would be. Might as well nip this shit before it became even more of an annoyance. "I'll help you, but we've got a hell of a journey ahead. The desert is vast and runs ad infinitum to current knowledge. Unless you have a way of sensing this thing, we've got our fuckin' work cut out for us."
"I understand," Reina said simply, shoulders relaxing slowly. Even she could make an excuse for the same back home; what with the bandits, dragons, and such. The scorching heat of the desert serving as a stark contrast to the icy mountains of Skyrim, and a cold she was quickly beginning to miss. "I would honestly be surprised-" and a little suspicious "-if you did trust me so quickly."
Though the Dragonborn had her doubts; not of Jewel holding true to her word, but of herself truly considering leaving the other for dead; and of her own inability to stay dead. It had been both a blessing and a curse that one, paired with being unable to truly forget anything; her own deaths included; to make her learn her enemies tactics and abilities and not make the same mistake twice.
"I am thankful to hear such, unfortunately I don't have anything to track it down." Her job would have been much easier if she could, and less in need of assistance. "The vastness doesn't bother me; Realms of Oblivion tend to go for infinity as part of a standard it would seem," or at least her experience. "Though it makes sense, the realms have infinite resources to draw from, so why wouldn't their realms be the same? Having said that though, perhaps we could start by having a chat with the god who rules this realm? Wandering in any particular direction would likely only get us so far unless we're lucky; and I doubt a god would appreciate uninvited guests in their home, regardless of how much of a ... blank canvas this realm seems to reflect." Along with answering a few questions on how souls like the Hollows worked.
