i like cyrus being such a blank slate cus he's both like a void and a mirror... there's nothing super inspiring about how he looks, he speaks sparsely and when he does speak it has a lot of emotion underlying it, so it allows certain people to see themselves in him. And by doing so they believe theyre closer to him than they are.

But in that same way, people who want to continue seeing themselves in him will temper their personality to maintain the status quo... at least, when he's around.

he's very contradictory. to himself, to others. he says "yes, feel angry around me, but dont bother me with it." "yes, accept the differences that ostracised you but dont let them get in the way of my designs"

as much as he's trying to change things, by being so singularly focused on himself without anyone else's input, he ends up perpetrating the same cycle he resents. Just the vague goal of 'perfection' with no human connection.... that no one working to help create that 'perfection' will ever actually experience.
