I look at you and I wonder when I’ll stop writing your name in the margins of my notebook, tracing it over and over like a confession, like an apology, a benediction, like all the things I can only scream but never say. You touch me and I mourn for all the times you never will again. For how this squirming thing inside me will be buried once more in the ashes of its own fire, a suffocating phoenix with no resurrection in sight. You laugh and I do too. I can’t help it, can’t resist the gravity of your warmth and I know you will collide into me one day and the explosion will be great and terrible, a supernova of brokenness and ice but until that day I am content to orbit you.

Not everything will go as you expect in your life. This is why you need to drop expectations, and go with the flow of life.

Look at you. You’re young. And you’re scared. Why are you so scared? Stop being paralyzed. Stop swallowing your words. Stop caring what other people think. Wear what you want. Say what you want. Listen to the music you want to listen to. Play it loud as fuck and dance to it. Go out for a drive at midnight and forget that you have school the next day. Stop waiting for Friday. Live now. Do it now. Take risks. Tell secrets. This life is yours. When are you going to realize that you can do whatever you want?
