Why do we never play Night Crawlers anymore, huh?

I was hoping they’d address MacDennis by the end of this season (because the build-up was SO good and because of RCG’s talk about a “major event” this season), but they still have time to address it.

Z uses AAVE but the show doesn’t make fun of him for how he speaks. He’s just a naturally funny and amusing character like all of the other side characters.

I think one of the most important things that’s being missed is that the fake cash literally has the words “dolla dolla bills” on them, which is making fun of corporations’ usage of AAVE to appear hip and cool/attract the youth.

Dennis, who is always trying to come across as “the cool one” and is still struggling with the fact that he’s getting “old,” was directly inspired by the words on the cash and, in his attempt to appear young/hip/cool, he came across as the idiot 40 year old privileged white man that he is. Like, Dennis is the joke. Most black people would laugh at him like “What the fuck are you doing? Sit your corny, goofy ass down.”

I’m mostly black and I know I don’t represent all black people, but I thought Glenn’s shitty and over-the-top delivery was one of the funnier aspects of the episode.

And I strongly disagree that the Gang weren’t being terrible in this episode (Dennis was verbally abusive to Mac, Mac attempted to strangle Dee, Frank started a brawl by accusing a father of pedophilia, Mac and Dee admitted to deliberately breaking a child’s glasses, Mac called a child “piece of shit” and the Gang pretty much ganged up on him, etc.). They did not need a foil in this episode. Nearly every word that came out of the Gang’s mouth was coated in stupidity. (Mac deadass told Dennis that he didn’t think a cartoon man on fake cash was a real person)

People who watch the show should be able to figure out that the characters are terrible idiots without guidance. Anyone who watches this show and thinks “Hey, Dennis is randomly attempting to speak like how some black people speak. I should look down on and make fun of black people!” is literally too young and/or immature to watch this show. Like, that’s beyond RCG (Rob, Charlie, Glenn) at that point.
